You know it's just a matter of time before they remake these movies. Police Academy, Back to the Future, Gremlins, E.T, The Goonies, to name a few of the 1980's classics will eventually be rebooted because Hollywood stopped funding original stories a while ago.
These movies had a very clever formula. They were screw ups and freaks for 3/4 of the films, then in the last part, they showed how awesome they actually could be as cops. Great stuff.

Just finished the first one, me and my dad would watch it all the time. The score is wonderful, the cast was geniusly picked! Why was this not nominated or won an Oscar, it's always the original ideas that never win it seems. Such a great movie, going to start the second this week hopefully.
Dude, i love Police Academy, the first 3/4 movies are classics for me. Here in Latin America they added a pun to make it a bit funnier "Locademia de policía" (Crazy=Loco/a added to academia, it was a common thing to add back on that day XD). Those movies also inspired some movies from my country Argentina, la Brigada Explosiva and others 😊. Mahoneeeey, of course Jones was great but my fave was Tackleberry haha (RIP David Graf and many others from the cast who passed away 😢). Thanks for all the laughs 🙌🏼

I miss when my life was so simple like this...I was happy watching Police Academy (Hightower rules!!!!!!!!!!) and playing Atari 800XL with my brother.
i loved to be a kid too. But after all it was just living in a fool's paradise, reality is much harsher than we perceived as kids.
