- When it comes to the Portal series, one of the most overlooked aspects of the games is the atmosphere they give off, but when you compare the two games in that category, they are pretty much polar opposites: Portal 2 looks clean, futuristic and pretty welcoming to the player, but Portal looks much different, and I want to talk about that today. In this video, I will be covering the most underrated details in the first Portal game - the atmosphere.
Small correction - the track "Stop What Are You Doing" plays in the 1/2 of the Escape sequence, not in the 2nd half.

hello everybody!
first of all, I want to apologize for my long absence. I have been really busy with school and other irl things that I couldn't make fast progress on videos. but, whenever i had free time, i would write the script for my next video and i can now say that the script is finished!
my spring break is happening in around a week, so I will have time to make content again. I have a few video plans that I will be trying to make during that time.
my next analysis will be about portal's OST - "the soundtrack of portal", and it will be a direct sequel to this video because the music is actually a big part in the atmosphere. in the OST analysis I will dissect every track and tie it all together by mentioning the importance of the music in the story, level design and mainly the atmosphere.
thank you for the support on this video! I really appreciate it because this was my first time talking and being more open than before - the first time i didnt use only text to comunicate and that was my "icebreaker" to make more analysis videos.

hey man, thank you for your nice words! it means a lot! i've now gotten a much better mic (the time used in this video is from a webcam, that's why it isn't good) and i hope i can upload more videos this year. my upload schedule is horrid because of school, but i have some plans for the future!

i agree with you - it is better to beat portal first. after playing through the game, it will be much easier to understand the things that i'm saying here.

thanks for asking. i'm really busy with school, so i have very little time to work in videos, which i really like. im 50% done with the script of the next analysis, maybe i will post some small, short videos about skips & stuff.
