A friend of mine has these, when out with him was stood below him, about 30 yards away, while he was in a high seat, one thing I did notice and commented on to him was how bright and noticeable was the red glow from the ir illuminator!

@alanmullock381 know what you mean you do get a bit of night blindness after use but that's with almost any night vision clobber
