I bought this to use on wood. I should have looked at it more closely. I'm going to return it. I love how little it is and that's the major reason I bought it.

Their 6-1/2" brushless circular saw is nice & very manageable. They prefer 6ah batteries though 4ah should do ok.

You may consider a dust mask as part of your PPE and long sleeves when using this tool. Brace your wire shelving by laying it down flat on your work bench prior to cutting.
Nice tool, it's very specific 19k RPM is best for metal work to 1/4". Not to be used in place of angle grinder or circular saw with proper blades for the various material applications. They all serve their purpose, I would recommend using it to cut off Lock's, flat iron, square tube aluminium and rebar applications during concrete work on site; wherever portability is paramount.
Thank you for your reviews the one hand reciprocating saw next please...

The tool has the circuitry to recognize the hp+ battery built into it. And the extra blade plate is for a different diameter arbor hole on the blades i believe

Had a y-adapter on my outdoor spigot that got mineral-welded onto the threads. Using two opposing 20" slip joints I could not get it off, unbelievable! Decided to cut it off. Grabbed my flex cable Dremel tool and got 80% thru the material and broke the mandrel. Took me 30mins to get 80% thru, too small a tool for the job. Ran to the nearest Direct Tools Outlet where this exact model was on sale for $69 as "blemished". The "refurbished" was $89. Super nice sales agent sold me the "blemished" display model for $49. Finishing that cut into the Y-Adapter took about 10 seconds. Helpful was the reverse option so sparks wouldn't fly in my face. One small problem was that the display model was missing one of the two flange adapters (7/16" & 3/8"). Of course, the included wheels are 3/8" and that was the flange that was missing. I figured out that facing both the inner flange and top flange the wrong way would allow me to secure the disc. I ordered the missing part directly from Ryobi for $10 ($3+$7s&h).

If you set up a vacuum cleaner with a helper to hold it, you can capture the drywall dust as you cut. Otherwise, there will be dust all over the room.

4:28: I found it best to insert the key's short end and then tuck the long end behind the reverse trigger. They really should've molded a small l-shaped keeper tab north of the reverse switch so you could snap it in place. This would've allowed it to store without chance of dropping out when the tool is 5+yrs old.

Great review Logan. Perhaps when you do the impact driver you could do a comparison with an older one like the P236A. Not sure why I may have picked that one LOL. Then tell us what you think about it. Thanks so much for these Ryobi tools. I always check you sight before I buy one.

Its not an extra flange. The attached flange is 7/16. The other flange in the bag is a 3/8. It seems Ryobi enclosed blades are 7/16 . Most other blades on the market are 3” 3/8 arbor

The fact that Ryobi considered that instead of making it take proprietary blades is pretty awesome...bonus points for that...I'm curious if the mini circular saw blades would fit in it...they're 3 3/8"...would make a great trim saw if they did

I probably said this before. Out of the 3 cut off tools from TTi, the M12 is the most refined. M12 lacks the variable speed, but the smooth and little vibration that it produces far outweighs the con. The Ryobi and Ridgid are almost 100% identical, but I feel Ryobi overall balanced better. The cut off tool imo is a nifty tool to own, so by no means is it a gimmicky tool. You will never say one grinder is enough.

    • @Pro1er

Personally I feel this is one time where Ryobi upped Milwaukee. The M12 is under-powered and is too easily prone to stalling and over-heating.

I absolutely love this tool , so does my wife . Bonus . You didn't mention the guard can rotate to better protect from sparks & debris when switching to reverse or cutting from a different angle . Reverse is a cool feature.

Yeah, honestly I was a little skeptical of this tool and didn’t understand its full potential. I should do a follow up because other than the drill driver and impact, this has become one of my most used HP Tools.
