    Nice to see that you put the splash guard back on the vehicle with "ALL" the bolts holding it up there.
    You would be surprised how many don't make it back! Where do they go?! They were just in your hand! Great job!!

    Fantastic video! I spoke to a veteran master Audi mechanic when I bought my 2018 Audi Q7 3.0t at the dealer and he told me it’s imperative when I do my oil changes that Motul 5w40 is used and nothing less. I do my own oil changes and was about to use the same Castrol 5w40 euro full synth oil. He told me these cheaper (still expensive) full synthetic oils you find at Oreillys and Autozone burn up in these engines and will cause you to continue adding oil to your engines after even a few hundred miles of driving. You’ll eventually gunk up and potentially detonate your engines causing a huge plethora of problems down the road.

    Nice video man! You saved me some time. Now I need to make a small 6"x 6" door for the drain plug for all future changes. No way in hell will I do all them screws for the entire engine guard, when I can get away with 4 screws maybe less if I put hinges.

    I was looking for general procedures to have some idea of when my oil change comes. 3 things I would do differently are.
    Remove the oil filler cap before draining the oil and loosen the filter so the oil from the filter drains down to the oil pan. And the last one is to remove the plug completely and install it back with a new aluminum crush washer.

    Nice video, thank you very much for sharing. I had to chuckle when you dropped the socket, been there, done that. I have done about 12 oil changes on my 2003 Audi RS6 and it was very nice to see the oil filter location on this Audi 3.0 liter V6. On the V8's it is in a bad spot for a neat job, especially on the RS6. The underpan pan is a PAIN especially if you are laying on the ground doing it. My RS6 replacement car has an access opening for the filter and plug. Happy to see that. Just getting ready to the first DIY oil change on my '15 Q7. With your video in mind, I'm all set to do it this weekend. :)

    Did the extention and socket fall through all the way down? I didn't see you retrieve it. I was thinking you were going to have to get a magnet.

    Should point out 8 litres oil capacity - 7 quarts you quote are imperial qts, - 8.5 US qts. Why doesn’t the world use metric :) -

    2018 Audi Q7 recommended engine oil was 5W40, why Audi is now recommending the 5W30 for 2019 Q7?

    • @skoodadoo
      @skoodadoo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly because the engine changed from a supercharger to a turbocharger. still odd that they are recommending that though as most turbocharged engines in the Volkswagen Audi lineup require 5W-40.

    I am not sure about the USA or anywhere else I am from the uk i have one of these and it takes 6.1 litres of oil and it’s recommend to put slightly less I reckon about 5.5 litres then run it to warming temperature then check the electronic gauge otherwise u will keep getting warning ⚠️ lights saying too much oil reduce oil in the engine

    • @DULLAHGOSOHARD
      @DULLAHGOSOHARD  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its probably different here in the USA plus us quart is different from litres

    • @tomjong4141
      @tomjong4141 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      because oem engine oil only comes in small bottles. they have a uv dye for the dealer to make sure that you are using the oem engine oil and also to detect any leaks (castrol edge professional oe 5w40)

  • @marmurm
    @marmurm 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yes, buy an expensive car and take it for oil change to a „mechanic” who doesn’t replace drain plug crush washer, and doesn’t know what torque wrench is
