    Cal, I always enjoy your videos. They are always packed with a ton of useful information that can be used to put more and bigger fish in my boat. Thanks for sharing your experience.

    Thanks again for your videos and tips! I was able to use some of your previous advice and help my friend's daughter catch her first fish (a couple of salmon at Folsom) the Saturday before last. As a side note, I was launching my red Tracker with my son as you were launching the FHS pontoon (we picked up my friends at the Peninsula Campground). My son seemed unimpressed when I told him you were a guide. I then told him you were a "famous" TH-camr and he got pretty excited. LOL! After that he was disappointed in me not going all out "fan boy" on you.

    I have gone to Lake Oroville and chased Kings with good success. I actually used a set up you showed in your video. I unfortunately live in Redding and have never had success in finding them in Shasta other than a day of mooching anchovies.

      So there are kings there…. Numbers fluctuate from lake to lake…. Both Folsom and Oroville were slow last year but looking much better this year. I don’t know what’s going on at Shasta but I assume there are fish out there but you’ll have to find them…. That blue/silver hoochie with the watermelon blade was my best Shasta king set up for years followed by rugged Shad…. Got some very nice rainbows and spotted bass on that hoochie too…. Sometimes I would find, trout, bass and kings holding in the same areas and I never knew what the next strike would bring…… the mouth of the big backbone and mouth of dry creek produced a lot of big salmon for me over the years… there is a high spot in front of Dry Creek. That was one of my money spots!!! Good luck!!

    Great vid Cal....adding these tips to the book for Almanor. Back in the early 80's, 4-5 lb Chinooks/Kings , by the dam, were a blast. Think I'll try these methods again in June. Hope to see you there.

    Great video. Thanks for the info. We've been getting into them over at pine flat lake. We drag wiggle hoochies out there. Tipped with anchovy or shad. Once you find them try to stay on em. They're spread out right now, as the water warms up, they will be easier to target. Keep the King videos comin!

      I got that stuff at fisherman’s warehouse… call around, Fishermans, sportsmans, bass pro…… make sure to ask for green label/ medium….

    Why bad mouth other anglers? Didn't you say a few videos back that a kid using plugs should stop and just use your tackle?

    • @FHSTackle
      @FHSTackle  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      I did not say that… maybe as a joke. I do like to have fun. I do fish with one young fellow that likes Rapalas so we often smack talk each other but that’s about it…. You should use the approaches that give you confidence. In this video, I was talking about a mindset but nobody in particular. Good anglers are always learning and adapting. I teach cornerstones and some finer points. The fish will always be the best instructors…
