One of the most striking things I saw to do when visiting Istanbul is to witness the ceremony of the whirling dervishes. This ancient Sufi tradition is truly mesmerizing, with men spinning in circles while listening to live music. As a Turk, I would like to say this. Visit Turkey, eat food, and visit mosques and historical sites. But do not argue with any Turks in traffic. You can get into trouble and fights can break out at any time.
