Fun fact: Martin Scorsese is so short that, for the framing of this scene to work, he had to sit on folded-up blankets so his head would properly be in frame.
I kinda like to imagine this scene, with only Martin's eyes peeking over the seat. I think it'd be scarier, honestly.

This is one of my favourite scenes in this movie; firstly it clearly demonstrates Scorsese's skill at acting even though he isn't a trained actor. However the script is very good, but what does it for me is the way Scorsese says to Travis "Now THAT you should see, what a .44 Magnum can do to a woman's pu%%y", it's not what he says, it's the way he delivers it by over-emphasising the word 'THAT'.

3:22. Marty goes from looking at Bobby in the mirror to breaking the 4th wall deliberately. Not all at once so we can't tell but end up staring straight into his eyes just like Travis now that we know without a doubt he is a nutjob, even if he is all talk.
