  • This is a walk through of the Trek slash 7 and a peak at the componentry on this legendary alloy frame. Seriously, if you're in the market for a new All Mountain bike, buy the Trek Slash, and you won't regret your choice. Safe, reliable, durable & a whole lot of fun!
Also, it's worth mentioning that Trek, by far, has the best warranty on its frames. Trust me, I speak from experience. Having owned 10 Treks, they really are bike of choice.

When it comes to trek Slash never ask questions. Just go for it. I bought 2022 slash 9.8 xt and it costs shit load of money. Was very hesitant about the price since im used to crap budget hardtails. Boy was i impressed. Godlike bike. Slash is truly a masterpiece imo. Had internal debate between fuel ex and slash, but went for slash to not limit myself on hard enduro. I had the best of fun on this bike for few months. Only negative for me is that it not perfect on technical trailriding because its hard to pedal uphill compared to trail bikes. But boy is it a beast on agressive riding. Congratz on your new bike.

That's it mate as long as you're having fun on it and you've got a smile on your face, then that's money well spent! I love this little park jibber, half descent spec, wicked stiff burley frame, ideal for someone making the jump from HT to Full Sus. Or a fun toy on the side to throw about at your local.

@@shaunxmtb Slash 7 might not be as speced as 9.8, but its def better money to performance. Select+ is very underrated. My friend has the same rear suspension as yours and my bike got super deluxe ultimate and imo difference is not all that big. You get probably like 90 percent of the performance. SLX is sick. Wouldnt say far of XT. On your bike i would only maybe consider upgrading the fork. But it should still do pretty much viable for anything unless you do competetive biking and want the best. Slash 7 probably the best performance to price mtb in the market not only in Trek lineup. Also sick color choice.

Guys skip over the 7 and get the 8 since you’ll have to upgrade the shock if you do any serious descends

It's not a bad shock for a trail bike that costs £2300 (by todays prices). But yes, I agree with you 100% go for the more enduro focused 8 if your going racing and giving it serious welly downhill. Think the 2023 comes with ZEBs up front as well 😍

The slash is a enduro bike not a trail bike
I’m getting an 8 soon I was going to get the 7 but the better suspension and parts I’m going with the 8

    Is drivetrain loud while descending?

Just got back from a DH session at Grenoside Woods. The only noise is from the rear hub, which surprisingly has a really nice buzz due to plenty of engagement points in there. but chain chatter is minimal thanks to the rubber gaurd, which comes as standard on the frames chain stay. The XT rear mech has a clutch, which limits chain slap too. Shifting is smooth, with no clunks or bangs what so ever. The drive train you get on this model is really good kit to be honest. I Hope this helps

Almost $4K in the US, plenty of better options.

Wow that's insane, I picked this up £2400. I can't beleive there is such a big price jump in the states! I would want a better speced bike for that price!

Like what? There's really not much under $4k here that's still main brand suspension and components, and I've been looking for months. Like best finds so far have been a $3.9 deore Ripmo and $4k Rocky Mountain SLX/XT Altitude, but I haven't found anything else for less

Some advice with those brakes, throw some sram h2 rotors in, with shimano sintered pads. Thank me later.
