Epic. :) Looking forward mine in orange, cant wait to send it. Picking it up on thursday. So nice to get the same shimano parts as ridden on my CC hardtail.
You'll love it!! I still love the hardtail especially for winter riding, don't have to worry about grime and dirt getting in the bearings. I have so much more confidence on the trails now and have just ride over everything! Let me know how you get on!
I looked at the slash 7 today. How is it on climbing? LBS doesn't have a hill to try it on. I've read some comments that it's not a good climber but others say it is. Thanks
Comparing it to some of the other bikes (trail focused hard tails) I’ve tried it climbed really well. Puts you in a nice position I found. It won’t be fast and there were some hills I struggled with but that was down to my legs not being strong enough and going at a faster pace than I’m used to. There’s probably other bikes out there that climb better but personally I found it did a good job. Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions.
I currently had an incident where a motorcycle hit the chainstay of my Slash and dented it. Do you know of any stores where I can import a The TREK 2021 Slash 7 chainstay? I'm from Brazil. Hug.
Tbh I went with the slash as in my mind I wanted more travel as I wanted to ride steeper and technical terrain but found myself riding more of local trails as easier to get to and the fuel ex would have been a better bike for all the pedal sections. Plus I got this bike before the new fuel ex came out and would have definitely gone for that and upgraded the suspension with 160mm. Now the new slash has come out and I heard it pedals very well uphill and descends amazingly it’s hard to choose what to get now 😖
Im sorry but sell it and get a way better bike for the money with a consumer derect brands like Canyon/YT. Sram is way Superior because not all plastic and not as rinkydinky as shimano. But you do you im just helping a guy out.
Thanks Weston, which bikes from canyon and YT would you recommend? I have ridden a couple of bikes with sram brakes and wasn’t much of a fan, would run sram AXS if I had the money but think I would still prefer shimano brakes. Which group set and brakes are you running?
Great overview! Such a nice bike. Looking forward to seeing more videos on it!
Thank you, already loving it on the trails. Great bike to progress with!
Great video and good insight, got a 2023 Slash 7 coming my way soon courtesy of Cycle to work scheme
Amazing!! Still love this bike and really enjoy riding it!! Super stable and confidence inspiring!

Amazing, love this bike! Making small upgrades as I go along! I also made a video where I serviced all the suspension bearings
Will check that, thank

You can fit a inner tube in the frame fyi
I already do! Was thinking of getting a tubolito as a spare so more room to for snacks!

It's a hard deal to decide between the Slash 7 and the Fuel Ex8. At least for me...

Hearing these crumpet munchers pronounce "aluminum" is top tier
