Another concideration for the Lions should be Penei Sewell... the identity of the Lions is their trenches and the fact that in only his third season Sewell is being talked about along side Trent Williams and Jason Kelce as the games best o-lineman? Falcons fan here, and I think Lindstrom is our untouchable player. We can find some decent pass catchers, but protecting the QB (if we ever get another serviceable one) is more important.

Yes cause he's got all 3 1st team all pro without question the former University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish Alumni really has a hall of fame resume but if he wins a super bowl championship no doubt he's going straight up in the HOF period the 1st Round 6th overall pick in 2018 NFL Draft 6:16

People have seriously got to stop pretending Fields improved this year. In 2022 the Bears as a team threw.... 377 passes.... all year for just shy of 2600 yards. They had 19 TDs through the air vs 15 INTs. They rushed for 3014 yards and 18 TDs.
In 2023... they threw the ball 513 times.... 36% MORE than 2022. They threw for 3400+ yards and.... 19 TDs vs.... 15 INTs - exactly the same amount in each category as 2022.... just throwing for about 800 more yards...... because they threw the fucking ball 36% more than they did in 2022. Rushing they still had a solid year with 2400 yards but only 16 TDs compared to the 18 last year. 600 fewer rushing yards. Likely because Fields didn't average his unsustainable 7.1 y/a average and dropped to 5.3 y/a in 2023.
Passing- wise..... I'd say they actually DECLINED from last year DESPITE adding Moore. And that's not a knock on Moore at all. It's a knock on Justin fucking Fields and just more proof people willfully ignore pointing at the FACT he's a TERRIBLE quarterback. Fields had 2 fluke games vs the Broncos and Redskins (their real name) this past seasons. Remove just those 2 games and in his other 11 starts he posted an abysmal 75 passer rating and a high 30s QBR. For perspective Zach Wilson started 11 games in NY and he owned a 77 rating and 30 QBR...... yeah. THAT is how terrible Fields OBJECTIVELY is.
If Fields is the qb for the bears in 2024.... and unsurprisingly has a typical shitty Fields season.... it's grounds for firing Poles even though he didn't draft him nor did he get a chance to draft "his guy" at QB. Him sticking with a known BUM of a QB for not 1 but 2 seasons.... refusing to trade him last year and drafting either young or Stroud instead (he did shop him around though) and if he did it again and not take any one of like the 5-6 VERY promising QBs in this draft in Williams, Maye, Daniels, Mccarthy, Nix, and Penix..... not even including Sanders or even possibly Ewers...... yeah..... he's at the very least on the piping hot hot seat. I don't even want him to take Williams or Maye with the 1st pick.... I want him to trade down AND trade Fields and then replace Fields with either Nix or Penix. Either of which I think will be a VAST improvement over Fields.... which pretty much anyone would be as Fields objectively has set the bar extremely low to be better than. So low its subterranean. Yet people pretend Fields is good.... it blows my mind and is so fucking infuriating as a rare RATIONAL Bears fan. It's like.... so people not even watch Fields struggle mightily with pretty much every mental aspect of being a QB? He holds onto the ball THE LONGEST in the NFL because he can't read defenses which causes him to go through his progressions at a snails pace also because he can't anticipate open windows in his receivers' routes. His receivers have to be WIDE open for him to throw the damn ball and even then it has to be his primary target because he'll stare down his primary target for at least 2 seconds before he starts checking down at which point its too late. Each subsequent year per PFR his "on target%" on passes has declined. He only had a 69% on target rate this year and that's WITH DJ Moore.... and Mooney (a good receiver of he had a competent QB) and Kmet who's put up top 10 almost top 5 receiving numbers among TEs.... DESPITE having an inept QB slinging the ball in Fields.
Moral of my story.... fields is trash. And if Poles doesn't find some sucker of a team to trade him to because that team is drunk on the stupidity permeating the football narrative that fields is good.... that's a massive failure on Poles' part. I never thought I'd see the day where the only professional talking head whose analysis I agree with is Colin fucking Cowherd. That dude is usually your typical home talking head.... someone who gets paid for dumbass hot takes. But it's deemed a "hot take" right now to call Fields what he is.... a big ol' BUST and terrible QB. It's only a hot take because it goes against the baseless/factless empty narrative that he's good. Whoever Fields' PR guy is..... he/she deserves a massive raise. Fields has been slightly better than Zach Wilson and IMO slightly worse than Mac Jones. 2 QBs who've been unequivocally deemed... BUSTS.
