- Camping in the grounds of the 1,822 Acre chatsworth estate in the derbyshire dales was something to remember and a place we would love to return too
A Busy , but quiet campsite ( apart from the crows!🐦⬛) is well maintained & nicely laid out with good facilities , plenty of hedged pitches and helpful staff , with a nice little shop selling the basics , Full site , house & and area summary at the end of PT 2 where i visit the house and gardens

Good for you filming the way in. Should we ever get there ourselves, I shall have an idea what expect now.
Choosing a pitch is always ball-ache for me! It's much simpler when there are only half a dozen to choose from, but it does look lovely there I must say.
I trust you had a good time despite the rain.

Hi rob yes that’s what i said as soon as we arrived in the sun it was a bite to eat then out for the pics and filming and lucky i did ! awful for the next 2 days but half expected it being the peak district , we are the same choosing a pitch and we often see people going round and round and round trying to choose , it’s funny really , but yes we loved it there and hoping to return in october this year !

we haven’t had a summer yet it’s ridiculous this year what’s going on ! but we still enjoyed the area and the walking etc

Great vlog guys we were there for the christmas markets, had to laugh mike when that guy was telling you where to go and you drove off saying i didnt understand a word of that so funny, good job kirsty was with you 😊😊
that’s right yes he said that’s a very strong accent he never understood what he said hardly 😂 , we’d love to see it at christmas i bet it’s beautiful , we loved it there

Oh well thats the British weather for you, but as usual you both seemed to make the best of it, looked a smashing site pitch etc, never actually been to the house, but been to Bakewell and surrounding area many times as the wife has family who live in the area, if you go into Bakewell you might find that Bakewell tart is actually a Bakewell pudding, i spend half the time laughing at the noise the dogs make, anyway another enjoyable vlog keep them coming 👍.
Hi stephen , we wanted to visit bakewell and surrounding area but as usual ran out of time , we will possibly be going back in October though to see more , never knew that about the “pudding”… the one we had was pretty big and really enjoyed it , yeah the dogs , it’s always the same , every time i start to talk they either drink or snore , it’s like they know 😂😂
Love you videos. We stayed at Chatsworth years ago the last time we were caravaning and hoping to go again before it is closed

Mike - I spotted your mistake - Where you put the grey waste pipe is the pitches own Elsan waste point grey waste, your grey waste pipe should have gone into drain near water point - All the Super pitches on Chatsworth have there own chemical waste point, Great site only 45 minutes from us - It's very popular & hard to get onto that's why it more expensive - Glad you enjoyed your visit - my brother is a volunteer at Chatsworth House he does one day a week
oh no i put it down the wrong hole ! .. i did wonder why there was no feed of some sort going into it hence the lid was resting on the pipe , well spotted Andrew 👍 so we may have bumped into your brother then 👍😀 what a lovely part of the world we really enjoyed it there , lovely place would love to return and see more
Great vid just on our doorstep. Walk to garden centre for coffee and cake is good as is stables complex .wait to see what you thought of house. And you want a bakewell pudding not tart.

yes it is wheelchair friendly even in the house i saw ramps and even wheelchair hire 👍

Hello Mike and Kirsty, one of our favourite places to visit, so sorry its been raining, it annoying isnt it. The house is lovely to walk around as is the gardens. I filmed inside the house too Mike. Lovely video, thee is a walk to the left as you come out of the magic gate towards Baslow not too far and there is a coffee shop dog friendly and pub. Take care x Julie and Tony x
Hi julie when we was driving home i suddenly remembered it was actually your video i had seen last year that triggered the idea to go , and bob’s and trevor’s video’s a few years back i think , and i think any video don’t do it justice, you have to be there to really appreciate it and so glad we went , i must learn not to keep pressing that record button as im sure you know all about now 😂 , i’ve got so much footage to go through i had to do 2 parts of it , possibly even 3 !

I visited chatsworth a couple of times I’m from that area but a bit to quiet with not much to do I prefer Norfolk myself
it was a nice change for us , we’d like to go back to see more , Norfolk is definitely flatter !

Chatsworth far too posh for fish and chips😂 we were there last summer and went around the Gardens. We were so lucky with the weather two days of glorious sunshine.☀️😎
yes you was very lucky then people were saying it’s always raining there 😂 not a chippy in sight but not a bad thing for the amount of it we eat !

Mike you’re an old fart like me, I can’t do anything online and that’s why I let Heather stay 😂 shame the weather isn’t playing ball this year yet hopefully it picks up soon! Even though Chatsworth is local we’ve never stayed there.
Fed up with this weather driving me nuts yeah hate all this online stuff and not being able to talk to humans anymore ! Definitely a busy site huge grounds , funny how we never go places on our doorstep , like us really , never been cambridge cherry hinton club site and only just started going to thetford forest club site last year

Looking at doing 3 weeks there next year, wanted to see you're opinion of it first. They don't let you book a year in advance so might not be able to do 3 weeks.
Think it's a long drive to the supermarket and shops though isn't it?

Hi pete & su , yes well worth a visit i’d say , totally enjoyed it there and fell in love with the area , the village of baslow is just up the road but no shops other than a Coop which was sufficient enough , just a 2 min drive from the site entrance , unless there was somewhere else i missed or wasn’t aware of but that village was all i saw locally , kirsty and her rain dances 😂 , ill have to stop her it’s ruining our breaks 👍😂
