  • In this Video Brian and I made a road trip to catch some beautiful slabs. We were popping a float using some of my hand tied hair jigs. We fought the wind most of the day, but had a very successful trip. For information about my hand tied jigs, click link below.

I have a small lake in my area of northern Wisconsin near lake Superior, that I catch 16 incher and my brother caught a 19 inch black crappie, we measure it and took a few pictures and let it go, I been fishing that lake for a long time and I been catching big bull bluegills and a few large mouth bass, that I release, unless they are hooked bad and I will keep it, good eating fish bluegills and crappies and large mouth bass, I started to use 4 strand braided line with a few feet of fluorocarbon line 6 lbs test. Okuma spinning reel and a Saint Croix 8 foot spinning rod medium light action.

I wish we still had it like this. I live on Chickamauga Lake. I didn't see another boat while you were fishing. The entire stinkin world is pressuring this lake and will until it's no good (about like now). At one point this lake was very good so in come the motels, camp grounds, and tournaments. None of the people exploiting the lake fish so it doesn't bother them if you can't launch.
