Great video again Richard! I am from California, and we do not catch Crappie like this that often. Once about 50 years ago my brother and I knew of an area in a Reservoir near our home, (Lexington Reservoir), where people had caught a few Crappie. We read the books that Crappie liked minnows, so we bought a dozen or two to try it out. We got to the place and noticed that we were only catching Crappie in a 2"x2" area under the shade of a dead tree in the water. My brother and I found a wooden raft, he got on it and went to the tree. I was throwing the bobber with a minnow on the line, he would put it down there, and we were catching Crappie about the same size in this video clip. We caught slightly over 20 fish, ran out of minnows and went home. My mom made the best Fish Curry from those Crappie that I ever had in my life.
I tell you, I love it. I do. Richard, thank you and Lisa, er, Mama Sue for taking us up to the dam with you. I used to fish Ft.Loudon and Watts Bar dams like that. I never made it below there in my boat. Y'all bring those good memories back.

Just went fishing in Arkansas and my tackle box flew out of my boat while on the interstate and my dad gave me that box a month before he passed away. We lost him in October. So it’ll be a while before I get to get back out on the water considering I have no tackle. But I’ll still be here watching this channel. I caught up on many of your videos and subscribed. Today, I went to the tackle shop and equipped my tackle box with some jig heads, tails, floats, and under spins. I've fished all my life, but now we're going after Crappie! Thanks for the great informative videos and motivation.
I sure love your videos Mr. Gene. I have taken so many of your techniques and applied them to my local waters and my crappie catch has multiplied by a factor of 10 without exaggeration. I find them in the dang-dest places too where I'd never found them before. I sure appreciate the tips and info you put out. ANY CHANCE of you doing a catch and cook to see how Momma Sue fries these up? I do mostly catch and release, but on occasion, my lady likes some fish at the house as well. I keep that part pretty basic since crappie are pretty much the best fish in freshwater.
