      Tedward do a video on an early S197 Mustang GT with a 3 valve 4.6 V8 with a manual. Really want that car because I think that it’s one of the best looking cars of the 2000s, and it’s very cheap like 3-4K dollars. Ah yes, the British take on the Maserati Spyder (sort of).
    Everything's similar...two-seater, convertible, 4.2 vs 4.3, 390 vs 380 hp, single-clutch automated manual transaxle...
    Both sound glorious, even if they're not exactly powerhouses.
    Still, I'm used to driving cars with a 0-60 mph in the 10/11-second range or far above, so...yeah, that shit's fast to me, hahah!
    But I'd love to see this V8 with a supercharger, since it's actually based on the Jaguar AJ-V8 family, which has several supercharged variants...
    Shmee drove a supercharged V8 Vantage a few years ago, with a GMR 600 supercharger and water injection package putting out 580hp and 445 lb-ft. All from the 4.3 liter block. If it was the 4.7 with the same setup, you'd get 609 hp and I don't even know how much torque...

      DB7 never came with an automated manual. You're probably getting confused with first generation Vanquish that had a very early form of this transmission. It was much updated for the V8 Vantage and then again for the V12 Vantage which also had a twin plate clutch (an excellent upgrade for the V8).

    I think you captured it. These cars aren't going to impress anyone looking at stats. They have a lot of quirks but the experience is so unique and enjoyable that it doesn't matter. For me, the weight of all the controls (steering, clutch, brakes, gas) and the impressive feel from the chassis and steering make it very memorable and entertaining. Add to that the smell of the leather in the interior and the sounds coming from that engine and it's just a car full more personality than any of it's German contemporaries. I'm also in the minority for loving the 4.3. The way it's eager to run to redline is so sweet above 4000 RPM.

    Before seeing this video I didn't know single clutch automated transmissions were ever applied in cars other than Smarts and a few other goofy little European city cars. For that matter, I had the impression that the whole design was not meant for higher power output vehicles. Good to see, though, that Aston Martin could still employ it to create something extraordinary ike this Vantage.

      Lamborghini Gallardo, murcielago and even the current Aventador uses single clutch. Also bmw used them in euro e36 m3 (smg 1), globally e46 m3 (smg 2) and e60 m5 (smg 3) to name a few

      @@TedwardDrives all right, I admit I'm undereducated on exotic sports cars. Still like to watch you driving 'em. Btw there is a euro hot hatch I would love to see on the channel if you can get your hands on one: Mk2 Ford Focus ST or RS -- powered by a 2.5 liter turbo 5-cylinder from Volvo. I don't think it has been on the channel before.

    These were based on the Jaguar AJ V8 engines but with more goodies and higher redline etc. funny how similar it sounds to the 2004 Lincoln LS V8 I had being it was also a AJ-V8. Although this thing revs to 7300 rpm and the lincoln was limited at 6500

      Do you know what cheap means? They used high quality parts that hold up very well. Sounds like shit, ay? And that’s why it beat an F430 on top gear in sound, all magazines raved about it sounding as good as a Ferrari or better? Whatever troll.

    I wanted one so badly. Then I tried it and I was so disappointed by this car. It's slow, heavy, chassis sucks, and the automatic gearbox it's garbage!!! The interior is also cheap... No go 😭

    • @tommyfreckmann6857
      @tommyfreckmann6857 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow. You could never be farther from the truth. This isn’t a modern car where they have everything handed to you. Hydraulic steering, you have to work the auto like a manual(don’t know why you’re complaining as you should’ve tried the manual), the chassis is phenomenal and I assume you must have pushed it to the limits on the streets you PRO. And cheap interior?haha you dummy, it’s all top quality parts with real metal, leather and glass.

    • @Kinyosan1
      @Kinyosan1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tommyfreckmann6857 no, I tried it over a weekend on the country side and... on track! So I can say to you that's the chassis sucks. The body is rolling too much in every single corner, the car is literally begging to stop. This is not a sport car for sure...
      I drove it in automatic as this was the one owned by my friend. This is one of the worst automatic gearbox I have ever tried, as bad as the one in Fiat 500 Abarth (I'm not even joking).
      And yes, the interior is cheap I'm sorry, misaligned materials everywhere.
      Coming from few Porsche, I was not impressed at all and quite disappointed. Good looking car but not my cup of tea (I have the right to share my experience🤷‍♂️).

    • @tommyfreckmann6857
      @tommyfreckmann6857 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kinyosan1 yeah, I doubt you drove on the track with this car. The weight distribution is perfect with a little rear bias and is phenomenally neutral through fast turns. The standard brakes are seriously excellent bits of kit. And i had my Vantage at Road Atlanta a few weeks ago and I was outpacing/overtaking a new C8, gt350 and 991 carrera. So like I said if you had the car nearer it's limits or have had more experience you would wake up. Of course. She is a little heavy, and when i do some weight loss mods, will be even more competitive.
