Hey Ted I subscribed a couple of weeks ago. Awesome videos. My question is what kinda of insurance do you need to drive these cars? A lot of them are classics. Or do the owners provide that? Either way, I've really been enjoying the videos 👍.
Being nearly 70 years old, it's funny seeing these 'collector' cars that I clearly remember from my youth. I can remember this from high school; it's so beautiful. The car mags back then used to take these to Nevada to test because there weren't speed limits on some roads.
Back in the day Bill Harrah was big in the Ferrari and collector car world in Las Vegas. Road & Track would borrow his cars for review. What’s really funny are the cars that connoisseurs would turn their noses up at in-period like a Ferrari Dino that are now selling for $700K. Would’ve been inconceivable back then.
I too am 70 years old and I look at this car and feel it is exactly what a car should be. I'll bet the kid who made the "IT'S 50 YEARS OLD" comment is looking for it's infotainment screen.
You're bloody killing it with these classics on show. New cars I get to see on the road but these old ones only in museums. Kudos for the good work! Keep it up 👈
What a beautiful manual 5 speed gearbox - I find it hard to believe any real car enthusiast can enthuse about an automatic......you just don't get those oh so satisfying aural delights as in this beauty!
If you think about it, this is kind of like the first M5. Big enough and practical enough to fit people, groceries and calm enough to drive everyday, yet a beautiful, and capable drivers car with a potent engine under the hood to give you performance when you do want it.
This car is the definition of a GT. Everything about it screams smooth, fast driving. The interior, in particular, is perfectiom. The steering wheel, wood grain dash, instrument placement, switches, gear shift, even the air vents are just right.
I restored the anodized aluminum window trim on one of these a few years ago for a Ferrari restoration shop in WI. I think the closest I'll ever come to driving one. :) I love these videos living in Watertown, recognizing the local roads.
My gosh.....it's just beautiful and amazing. Just ridiculous what a nice driver it is, and who ever set up those carbs has them dialed to perfection. Wow!
Bang on! I’ve driven a few with rough tunes but this was perfect. It took partial and wide open throttle perfectly without skipping a beat. It even idled great hot and cold
@@TedwardDrives It's absolute perfection, top to bottom. Not a single rattle or clunk going over that metal plate in the road... just dead quiet. That little "You're ready, right?" bark when it first lit after hearing the starter spool it, was amazing. And the fact that the revs drop right back to "safe-to-shift" mode, and it's still carrying enough torque to pull through the clutch release, and smoothly continue accelerating. Sounds and "feels" like maybe it's long stroke with a heavy crank and flywheel?(I don't know anything about them). I love the body lines and the sexy, thin, chrome, window pillars. Also, that sort of unfinished, race-car back end. Literally just; "The design ends here." Amazing machine, and I appreciate how you drove it, including just letting us listen along with you.
Je pense comme vous. La voiture est merveilleuse et la conduite du monsieur est parfaite. J adore le respect de la mécanique et là, c est une évidence qui fait vraiment plaisir à voir et à entendre.
Always love seeing a tedward video in the recommended. My brother just picked up a fl5 type r last week and your videos were definitely a part of the reason for getting that car and the si we had before that. Thanks for all the cool drives!
What an addictive drive. The closest I came to that sound was owning a BMW K75S- with engine kit, and tunable SuperTrap exhaust...what fun memories. Thanks and subscribed.
I just love the way that tach jumps with the RPMs of the engine when he shifts. I have a modern manual sports car, and when I shift the tach doesn’t move at all. Perfect.
It sounds like an ice cold tall glass of crispy, fresh coke on a sunny 28 degree summer day. I feel like I could listen to it for hours and not at any point would it give me even a slightest headache. What a fantastic, gentle V12 sound.
It is always a delight to watch your videos and realize the knowledge and respect you have for these very special beauties which you drive accordingly. It is moving to watch the needles in the dials wobbling (soooooo Sixties 😅). The oldest Ferrari I ever got to drive for an enjoyable stretch was a 365 GTB Daytona, and oh how I loved it. Years later I was able to buy a second hand 550 Maranello which had its great moments too until everything went haywire (engine, gearbox, front suspensions, exhaust…) That was just bad luck and I still revere the V12 Ferraris of the past. Being fairly sensible I drive a contemporary 911 and love it as well 😎
Thanks a lot sharing. Fantastic car ! I know it is impossible for you, but such car deserves to be driven like it was supposed to when it has been created. Imagine this beast on the european roads at that time. 😅😅
I feel like you review a car the way it should be. You give a brief and not too extensive overview and then give us a POV of the drive where you interject information from the drive and then go silent so we can enjoy hearing the car and watch how it performs. So many car reviews I watch are people talking throughout the entire review
A lot of the revving you hear on some sports cars is "double clutching " where , if no synchro box, you must,if down shifting , shift to neutral release clutch and blip engine, then engage lower gear with more ease .Synchro box eliminates this
My friend's dad had one of these along with the Rolls-Royce Bentley silver cloud I remember seeing this car in their garage in 1973 or 4 the man was the pathologist for the area I remember seeing him driving around town once n a while. It was the only Ferrari in our small town.
My father bought one of these around 1980 (they were quite reasonable then). I was fifteen, daydreaming of driving it in one short year. My father prided himself on being able to fix nearly anything, but when the head gasket went, he decided not to attempt the repair w/o Ferrari tools. When the repair estimate came back at $1,200 (I think?), he sold it as-is, completely put off by the cost 🧐. Porsche Speedsteer came next. I don't recall what he was paying for used exotics in those days, but nothing like today!
hill starts are a PAIN, especially if there is traffic. backpain, shoulder pain...and the clutch is extremely sensitive. i do very much enjoy driving it though. however, if i can only own 1 ferrari, i would pick the 365 GTC/4. this era was definitely peak ferrari styling, it still continues to look genuinely good or aggressive especially with the recent models but only these pre boxy era ferraris are sexy and elegant. i do however, very much appreciate modern efi, clutch, transmission, brakes, more refined suspension and especially the dependability and reliability of the newer models, but no modern ferrari would be able to compete with the sound these naturally aspirated columbo and tipo engines. i love your attention to the car's detail, thank you for making this video.
Ferrari perfection. Love the sound of that V12! Nothing more to say, but I want your channel to thrive, so I'll keep commenting 'something.' Stupid YT algorithms. Cheers. :)
Thanks for the ride! Tho I get the differences, the driving very much reminds me of my 1969 Fiat 124 Sport Coup (sans all the power, exhaust notes, extra gauges, fancy leather, etc)
A friend of my Dad’s bought one of these when it was a few years old at a discount because the fuel pump had failed. He parked it in his field in Virginia, and never got around to buying a new fuel pump. The car was gray over red interior, and must have been absolutely gorgeous when it was young. Such a waste that the car rotted away.
What road are you driving on in Waltham with no cars in front of you and what time of day is it. I live in Watertown and am hard pressed to find nice roads to drive my sports car on in this area.
@@TedwardDrives probably broke the original stalks and had a heart attack when they found out how much it cost to fix! (About $2K) Somebody came up with a cheaper solution.
So I guess I do have to rob a bank or two and just buy my own v12 Ferrari. If you turn on the news and hear of a middle age woman getting arrested, it could be me.😂😂😂❤. Another great one Tedward🍻
Ferrari V12's will always brighten your day! Share with a friend who needs to hear it
Me too. Any ole' V12 will do just fine 😂😂
Hey Ted I subscribed a couple of weeks ago. Awesome videos. My question is what kinda of insurance do you need to drive these cars? A lot of them are classics. Or do the owners provide that? Either way, I've really been enjoying the videos 👍.
Its like a symphony orchestra, right in front of you!

Who had a Ferrari 365 in your high school?? 😳

The car is 55, dude
I think he means HE is 70 years old...

This is "THE" engine sound by definition. Greetings from Italy

Lovely sound and thanks for letting her sing.
Thanks for watching!
No EV will ever be this exciting or sound this good!!
Thanks SO much by not spoiling this with crappy music. Thanks. Beautiful ride!
Learned that lesson many many years ago!
we need to return to these chunky tires on sports cars, they look so much better than the skinny stuff we have today
I'm a simple man, I see a V12, instant like.
What a beautiful manual 5 speed gearbox - I find it hard to believe any real car enthusiast can enthuse about an automatic......you just don't get those oh so satisfying aural delights as in this beauty!
i love those old ferrari they are true legend
Ferrari really knew how to do exhaust tips!
Perfect and instantly recognizable!
Well, ANSA really. They did exhaust for all italian manifacturers back then.
Seeing a dark blue on tan one of these in person took my breath away. Such a charismatic presence. Pics absolutely do not do justice. Very cool

Having this engine sing for you while cruising along is like having a personal orchestra play a soundtrack for you while you walk around town

14:05 great attention to your mirrors
Thanks for posted it. I think is one of most unknowed Ferrari ever, and very rare.
The gates man is the gate…you almost feel the sensation as he clicks that shift into each gate
The 365 GT 2+2 is the first Ferrari I ever drove. Good memories, great video!

Is there a better sound in the world? Possibly but it’s right up there. I could listen to that sound all day. Wow!

Timeless design with smooth lines and a long hood, embodying the luxurious aesthetic of the era.
Well executed presentation ! This is definitely one of my favourite Ferraris. I used to race against them on the Autobahn in the 70s !! 🫡my respect !!
Bringing the underappreciated classics! Love it. The greenhouse looks amazing.
Putting a modern sound system in a classic car, specially a Ferrari, is a crime!
It’ll never be turned on. Don’t worry lol
Forse anche il colore non è originale, di solito le gt Ferrari non erano rosse, che era il colore per le corse.

My dad had a 67 2+2. Brown with cream interior. Back seat was very comfortable for a pre teenager.
Yo that soccer mom in the red SUV got way too close.
YUPPPP. I had my eye on it and moved right to add some space when she made that pass. Absolutely no respect
you will never hear those symphonies any more...
sound definitely gives murci vibes
Man, I could almost smell the leather interior from here!! Lovely car and super nice drive.
Such a brilliant cruiser. It is comfy. 70 mph all day and smoooth. Such a great engine sound.
I've always loved the sound of Jaguar XJS V12s starting. I've never started a Ferrari.
The aftermarket radio just ruins the look of that beautiful interior! Find something Italian! Love the video!
My God, what an absolutely beautiful car.
That v-12 sound is intoxicating, every time. ❤
Columbo V12 Ferraris are just *chef’s kiss*.
The engineer was 'Colombo'
@@khalilparker8588 Columbo Peugeot

Lovely example of a very well sorted, almost 6 decade old, 'exotic' car. Really enjoyed the vid!!
Thank You!

Wonderful & respectfully-driven V12 magic

Real Italian style,wonderful
Beautiful noises! 🥰 I like the way my 3100 V6 growls in my Olds...I know it's a granny car but I love it 😊
Imagine driving this in 1970. Incredible today, but back then compared to the regular cars on the road, wooooww.
is a woodworker I listen to my machinery the same way, you just know when the motors in the right torque and horsepower range it always sounds good!
Such beautiful nostalgia.
It’s the way the engine gains and loses revs that’s most special to me. You can tell by that alone this motor means business.
The sound is intoxicating

What a car. So elegant and it sounds so good. This is the era of cars when the Ferrari mythos was born. Truly brand-defining
In all cases this the most beautiful car of this parking..😁😁👍👍.
14:05 made me so anxious, you can tell nowadays that they'll just hand anybody a license.
That realllllly pissed me off. I just kept it cool and put more space between them and the Ferrari.
That was a nice experience!
That awesome sound addictive wow.
Seriously, why would you even have a radio in the Ferrari when the V12 Soundtrack is all the music you'd ever need 🏁
In 69 this design was ahead. Today is a classy choice. With v12 sound. Yeah
totally loving it!
Truly a collectors dream
You buy the engine the rest of the car comes with it

What did they do with the turn signal and wiper stalks?! They look like they came out of a 80s Fiat!
Thanks for the drive!
I had the same question. I do not know haha
@@TedwardDrives probably broke the original stalks and had a heart attack when they found out how much it cost to fix! (About $2K) Somebody came up with a cheaper solution.
Crazy how affordable that is, relatively speaking. Would take it over a Daytona because it’s not so scary to drive in traffic
Stupenda !! 👍💪🇮🇹
Dino was the cutest Ferrari
Love it! Would you ever consider doing a review on a bmw 2002?
I have already made that review :)
If this car doesn’t make giggle uncontrollably when driving it?
You are clinically dead.
Wow, what a Beauty !!!
Love this
Bet the interior smells nice
To be honest! I think Enzo Ferrari would be driving the Jaguar E-type.
naw...he had peugeots
3:52 honestly I would probably prefer a non matching car with some patina. You can put a couple thousand of miles on it without destroying its value
Not wrong! But even with an odometer loaded with miles, if you keep the engine maintained and body in check I think it'll hold just fine.

14:02 that Subaru made me very nervous
Looks like something the mob boss in The Italian Job would get around in.
W video
if it's a classic I already know its from bond group
According to Schaboubve laws sadly soon All Gas cars will be forbidden!
13:24 I've never driven a Ferrari. But I now know what I can compare it to.
