Toshi is so great! I still remember when I first met him years ago, when you guys first started playing together. 🙂. I’ve loved watching his career grow over the years since then. It’s so great to see you guys back together playing again & making this new music. It’s been too long. It made me happy to see you met up while you were in LA Phil. Take care guys. 🙏🏻
Thats a great question and one that is not easily answered in a short sentence. There are several factors. And very deep. But I will say to a certain extent it comes from a result of the environments you are in across your life time. Also to a big degree rhythmic knowledge and the ability to connect that creatively to vocabulary. Those are the biggest factors IMHO. Thank you for the question. Super important!
Don’t quit, keep playing! That’s beautiful! Playing is healing. Also being persistent is key! Nice interview!
Playing is healing that's exactly right! Amazingly true. Thank you for writing in

Thank you bratha John, Yes it's been a long journey. Incredible. Did you hear the Sandler tapes?
Do you think developing one's own sound comes from regularly practicing playing on instinct? Getting out of one's own head?
