Very cool. I’ve just bought a BIA. Had it in mind for drums, percussions and lots of crazy, glitchy noise type madness. But this is a whole other interesting dimension to take it in. Amazing little module. Glad I’ve finally pulled the trigger on this one.
I am thinking about selling my BIA but videos like these make it more difficult. Exactly the inspiration I was looking for which is almost impossible to find on youtube
I didn’t even know if that’s possible. Great patches and great ideas :) I honestly though you can only use the BIA as a kind of drum voice, good that I was wrong
@@Gruftgrabbler Thats also the reason why I bought the BIA; its a very well thought out module that can do ambient, basslines, percussion, etc when tuned right :)
Thanks for this, I was waiting for more ambient BIA vids. Considering swapping my Plonk out for a BIA now, as it looks like more of a versatile module after watching this
this is one of the stranger modular racks I have seen. Definitely great for ambient sounds. I don't have many atmospheric modules. Mostly drums and basses lol. This vid inspires me to get some reverbs and delay or granular stuff.
I really loved all of them. Probably the 3rd and 4th patches are my favorite! One of my favorite thing to do with eurorack is experiment with feedback loops. It seems your rack would allow for a lot of possibilities there. Did you have in mind to explore this and/or to post videos about that kind of craziness too?
@@OmriCohen-Music Yesssss! Can't wait to hear that! I'm sure it's unnecessary to say, but keep your gains in check to avoid damaging you ears and speakers.
Patch 4 and 5 are really representative of the kind of music I'm hoping to get out of Eurorack. I just bought my first case a couple days ago, and BIA is one of the first modules I want to put in it. Wish me luck!
Hey Omri, I've got a new BIA but was wondering if you knew of something in VCV that is in the same neighborhood as it so I can do some rack planning. Mainly just the percussion with modulation thing.
Hi! Well, there's the Percussive Vibration form Life Form Modular. It's not a BIA, but it's a percussive voice with enough modulation possibilities. You can get it here - library.vcvrack.com/plugins?query=lifeform&license=&sort=buildTimestamp
Omri, do you still have Basilimus Iteritas Alter? At some point you were replacing the modules in your rack. I don't remember when... I have the opportunity to buy probably the last new BIA on the continent. :P Is it worth it?
Hi, yeah, I still have it. The only reason I wanted to replace it, is because I used it way too much. I love that module. It's a bit tricky to tune, but when it's tuned, it's a beautiful voice.
haha. your case is the first I see that comes with no modulation, clock, sequencing sources, has only a single synth voice and no vcas, envelopes or mixer. several tape-machines&effects, granular processors and an assortment of filters and a BIA instead. some nice patches in there. triggering the BIA at audio rate yields some strange results. running a complex VCO (like synthesis technology or ericas wavetable vco.. w. fm-mod, morphing through wavetables.. ) through the BIA.. makes for some raw industrial voice.
These are some beautiful patches!
Hey, thanks so much! I really enjoy the sounds I'm getting with the Basimilus, it's a very inspiring module.
I have never tried this with my BIA...so inspiring! I had no idea it could be beautiful like this. Rushing to my rack now to try this style
Patch 3 was heart-wrenching.
lovely patches! Thanks for exploring some new (to me, at least) territory with the BIA
Glad you enjoyed!
Very nice... and shows how flexible the BIA can be. Nice creative flow and patching :)
Thanks so much!
this is absolutely golden Omri, thank you for this, amazing BIA skills man.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Patch 3: mother of god!

Yeah, it's one of my favorite modules, right after Morphagene.

I love my BIA and I use it all the time... I'm glad you enjoyed the video and the sounds :)
Beautiful and creative, you absolutely sold me on the BIA
Thank you! I love my BIA...
Excellent patchlets. The BIA is a fun module. Cheers.
Yeah, it's definitely a favorite!
great use of BIA, quite not in the common vein ! i particularly love the drone in the first patch, inspiring ! Cheers 👊
Glad you enjoyed it
Great patches as always Omri. I love using my BIA for ambient :)

Plonk seems also really interesting. I think NE have a video with both on their channel, they work nicely together.
The third patch is just breathtaking
Thanks :)
Excellent, I love the notes also. So helpful!!! Great patches
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
Great sounds Omri
Thanks!
Really liked this. Very inspirational 👏
Thank you!
nice to see the BIA in another sound territories... !

Oh nice! The world of sound is endless and there's so much to explore...
Wow what a module ... that’s going onto the wants list
Oh yes, it's so versatile and it sounds great!
sweeet patches and niceeeesetup !
Thanks so much!
Well Done Omri
Thanks!
Beautiful man
Thanks so much!
I really need to explore BIA some more. Thanks Omri for the inspiration 🙂
Cheers!
Very beautiful.
Thank you! Cheers!
Soo good! Now I really need a BIA.
Thanks! Yeah, it's a nice module indeed :)

Well, I have to be honest, I didn't try it still with hardware, but in VCV I tried it more often... I will try this though, thanks!

Sweet use of BIA, still haven't clock mine in audio rate(it will be the first thing to do next time ).
Big ups Omri!
Thanks so much!

What is that distortion module next to the BIA?
That's the LedRover overdrive from VoicAS
Do you prefer the Magneto over the Mimeophon?
No, not at all. They're quite different from one another so I cannot really compare the two... I love them both!
Who says that NE is only for techno? :) Very beautiful patches...
yeah, especially if you process it with microcell, magneto, mimeophon, arbhar, morphagene... FFS, even my burps would sound like angel choirs!
Daniel Dixon haha 😂
