Nice new “podcast” format, guys! Content delivery on a more informal format is way more natural! Well done! Tks for the content!

I am curious what would be my way to the PR as I am currently on 482 and will need to apply for it to gain 2 years with the current employer. If 482 is decommissioned, shall I apply for skills on demand visa after December 7!

Hi, thank you for reaching out. You essentially have a few options dependent on your circumstances.
      1) If your occupation is still on the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL) then you can apply for a Skills in Demand Visa to reach the two-year mark.
      2) If your occupation has been removed from the list and is not on the CSOL but you earn over $135,000 then you can still apply for the Skills in Demand Visa through the Specialist Skills Pathway.
      3) Under the new changes, ALL full-time work experience in your current occupation will count towards PR irrelevant of the employer you worked for. Therefore, if you have a total of two years full-time experience in the last 3 then you will still be eligible for PR.
We hope this helps and makes sense, if not - please feel free to get. in touch with our team directly.

Would the CSOL be applicable for an 189 visa, as well?

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. The CSOL is not applicable to the 189 visa. You still need to make reference to the Medium to Long Term Skilled Occupation list for eligible occupations under the 189 program.
