Eh up John It's great to see the turning of the season, where before it's been blowin a hoolie and your unable to get out on the boat, yet just a few weeks later the Spring tides bring new foraging grounds to help put food on the table. That soft lobster was stunning, natures paint selection is breath-taking and you wouldn't believe old dull Britain could hold such beauty in it's depths.
As always thank you for the knowledge you impart and the clear way you explain everything a non fisherman can use to bring in delicious seafood for the table. Love to the family and keep safe and spread the message around the globe X

Brilliant pal!! I'm from land locked Stafford in the Midlands and I envy anyone who understands the land that they forage.. You're the first person to show the anatomy/growth cycle of a lobster... Talk about true blue! I did wonder why some were blue and others were black in varying sizes... David Attenborough eat your heart out!! I know more about the Galapagos than my own Island!!

Many years I would work on the low tides, those Spring tides you could never miss! When the seas uncover their bounty! I would harvest but very mindful to protect future harvests. I would gathers crown Limpets after storms by the sack full, only those large ones. I would shuck them wash out the inks, Wright and bag them lay flat on boards and freeze. I became the main supplier to “AMMO” baits. Loved working the tides. Winkles, clams, oysters, trot lines. The Spring tides I would walk out across the mudflats to get the flatfish that would be in the pools, within the deep channels. Starred with Tilly lamps but over time in came headlamps, free hands! Self made mud pats..hard work but what a life! Out in nature. 💗

MASSIVE thank you from my good lady, two boys, and myself for the day you gave us today. Followed in the footsteps you laid a while back in a video where you visited Prussia Cove. We visited today and had an awesome day. Was a little dismayed I didn't have you on hand to correct my shaky naming of plants and their uses. Plus the myriad of plants that looked edible, but I had literally zero clue whether they were, so, left well alone. Loads of wild garlic about, plus a stunning freshly emerged beetle, some mushrooms, and, we got to see the choughs too!!!! Really taking our time to be in nature was just beautiful. Great way to spend my birthday, with my beautiful family, in such an awesome location!
Thanks mate, all because of your video! 🤍

Showed my wife some of your videos, being vegan she is very interested in the seaweeds. She is now reading up on them as we hope to be in Cornwall late Sept and she would like to forage for her own seaweed salad. Great info John.

Good evening John, great day out at the shore. It's been a fantastic day up here in Northumberland. I was in the middle of Amble harbour this morning taking pictures of the entrance and the old coal docks. 👍

Thank you, my weekly trip down memory lane...in terms of location I mean. Having grown up in this area, spent much spare time picking winkles which were sent off to the markets in London, this was our pocket money, late 40'S & 50's...yep an ole timer... thanks again; jusqu'a la semaine prochaine...
