The way you infuse your own innovation into it with the left hand and pedal to give the "feel" of a full band joining in on the repeat of the main riff is something I haven't seen in any other cover. Genius.

Great choice of song......Great intro Michael! Bravo! The lyrics are also amazing! At one point Billy Joel says............"I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage, I've found that just surviving is a noble cause. I once believed in causes too and had my pointless point of view, but life goes on no matter who's wrong or right". Now that's poetry!!!

This is one of those pieces that is easier than it looks. You have to start out slow and then gradually build the speed.

Outstanding cover ! Very nice adding at 1:39 to vary dynamics especially for a solo piano version. Billy does a pretty similar thing in his live versions of Stiletto for the part right after the piano solo :) Great minds think alike

Thanks! Funny story about Stiletto. I've only seen Billy perform it once...during a sound check at MSG. Billy nailed it, but was in a funky mood and decided not to play it for the show. Billy was pushing it to the limit and gave what I think one of his best performances ever during the sound check. It was a good night for me :)
