Focusing on his Mk1 Raleigh Chopper with a hub date of 1969 !
Love Keith, such a great guy and his bikes are top notch!
Always wanted a Mk1 Chopper and this was the colour I wanted too, Mum and Dad could never afford to just go out and get me one. What fantastic condition this bike is in. Never let anyone ride this. Cheers Quinny
Up till now no one has!!
I was exactly the same,,,,,my dad never got me one
I had that exact bike for Xmas that year 😊
Goose neck handlebar stem. Early and rare pedal end caps.
If I don't remember wrong I was 10 and the year 1983 in Istanbul. We were at the bicycle shop to pump up out tires. There was a rich looking boy there with his father. The bicycle mechanic was assembling the bicycle. It was amazing blue color Chopper. We were mesmerized. We set our poor bikes down and watched the bike being unboxed and set up for about an hour. This memory is carved in my mind. Thank you.
Great memories that’s what drives the nostalgia market thanks for sharing
cool bike i have an early 1969 orange one in full original condition like this one, also with that plastick spokeguard. I always wondered if it is original, thanks for the info!
I had an original one back in the day , wish I had kept it now , with hindsight we would do lots in life differently, still have the photos of myself on it , yes I also had a plastic guard on mine .
That’s only the 2nd plastic spoke protector I’ve ever heard of! Never stop learning!
@@IconicBrands123 came with the bike when I purchased it actually in the same town I still live in , bike shop has gone and the bike = I’m still standing, my one was a blue version sold it to get a racing bike = we all learn by mistakes.
@kavanobrien6547 Interesting but I guess better to have memories in the past than not
@@IconicBrands123 indeed and still have the pictures with me on it , that’s why I can say about the plastic guard, I thought they all had them but at that age one does not look into things so much to busy enjoying life.
@@KavanOBrien thanks for sharing what a great memory of your youth
Exactly the same here. I could have killed for a mark 1 at 11 years old when they came out but my father didn't buy me one. I think that you should start a club for deprived boomer chopper children. I bought my first Raliegh Chopper, a mark 4 in ultra violet at 64 years old last year. Very sad and the neighbours think it is very strange but who cares what anybody else thinks. They just don't understand. Johhny Seven next maybe, rather more expensive than the £4 19s and 6d they used to be in the early 60's 😢.
It’s the nostalgia that drives the market and I still want a Johnny 7 😂
@IconicBrands123 when you get one it will be an episode worth watching. I still remember the spoilt only child who got one in our street, when every body else didn't. Paul Wilkinson., I'll name names lol.
Fabulous collection fair play 😁
Thank you, that brought back some memories! I had exactly the same bike when I was a kid. Now I need find one to restore…
Good luck with your project Chopper I certainly enjoyed building mine
fantastic mate
