I wish i had a mother like you. Mine is an extreme narcisisst and i never got any guidance from her. Im 28 years old now and mentally still behave like a 12 year old. I was praying God to send a role model so i can learn how to be a proper lady and I found you. Thank you so much. Your work is so much meaningful probably more than you think. Please keep up the good work.

I wish the same thing as you. I had a mother that was a narcissist and a sociopath. Mentally and physically abusive. She taught me nothing. Got other family members to think bad of me by lying about me. I know your pain. I'm 52 years old and over the years simple things I should have learned, I would be embarrassed when I didn't know what to do. God answered both of our prayers. He is such a good God! 💖 Hugs~

@@President47394 - Wow, it's like you are writing my life story! So much of our upbringing is the same. It's humiliating, but I did not even have a checking account until I was 21 - let alone know how to write a check or budget! I've been embarrassed many times because i didn't have a mom who cared to teach me anything.

@@tracym1564 Please, don't worry you are still very young. I'm glad you did get a checking account. Just keep on trying, and let it be known, people seem
so busy, they don't even notice if you make a mistake or can't do something. Be calm, ask a question if somebody is near by. Do NOT put yourself down.
You really do not know how to do something because you have not tried it yet. Also, help others if they struggle, the Universe/God will send someone
to help you. Everyday, try to learn a new thing....before you know it, you'll have a huge confidence in yourself. Blessings.

This video is very helpful. I've always been confident but that changed when I married an older man and being an alien from a third world country I am always judged and that continues. Honestly, I was crying while watching this. As you've mentioned LET IT GO and I decided to let go of every negative things/comment I've heard because the more I cling to it the more it hurts. Being classy goes a long a way. Keep making videos and keep inspiring! Thank you.

Your video popped up in my recommendations after I had an interview. I always overthink and have many self doubts. Your video really gave me confidence and courage that I'm doing alright. My mom has been a strong woman by providing for me but we lack communication due to our language barriers and cultural upbringings. It's hard but I love her and appreciate everything she's done for me. However, I wish I had someone to teach me these things and I'm so glad your video was recommended to me to use as a guide!

I really appreciate this. There is a saying in a recovery program-"What others think about you is none if your business". It took me a long time to believe and understand that. My most difficult relationship was my mother-in-law. She was just plain mean to me. I came to understand, it was never about me personally. It was her problem. When it's family and when it's your husband's mom(who he loves) makes it very difficult. At the end of her life, I was sitting on the floor next to her chair and she began to cry. I asked her what was wrong and what could I do to help. She told me she just felt so bad for me that my own mom had died too soon and it made her sad. That was the first time I felt loved by her and that she really did care. I am glad that happened before she died. Hurting people hurt people,

I am so thankful you are posting videos like this. My daughter turned 5 a few days ago and she constantly brings up me being "heavy, not being able to keep up with her during play". She means the world to me but it does pain me. I try to be confident in my current body but wearing a swimsuit in the pool or on vacation. I wear shorts even though I have varicose veins that show. I try to show confidence everyday so she has confidence.

    • @TracyHensel

Hi Margaret! I am glad! I think you are doing all necessary steps in showing your daughter how to be confident in her own skin .. just as she is. I especially think it is important to raise our girls to love their bodies. To recognize that they may not be perfect in all areas. But to be accepting of them. And to also recognize they have other areas that they will be pleased with. That comparing ourselves is counterproductive and a waste of time and LIFE!!! Bless you for working hard at this while your daughter is so young!!

Speaking about parenting, I sure would love for you to kindly make a video on it as I myself am a new parent at the ripe old age of 42 and I struggle to not feel overwhelmed with it all. I know that having your first child at my age isn't the same as in your 20's however I would love to have some tips from you since you are such an admiral woman having raised 5 daughters so successfully. I'm sure you had and you still have your difficult moments but you surely are organized and know how to manage your time. I have two daughters, my oldest is 23 my youngest is 4 years old. I am 46 so from my experience I can assure you is actually easier now than first time around . I feel so much more mature and able to handle things with care and patience compared to when I was younger. So hang in there, one step at the time, don't try to be the perfect mom and cherish your blessings. Your little one will bring you so much joy . The best thing you can do is to follow your instincts and as Tracy said don't let anyone that don't matter to get to your mind - bad mouthed and such.

@@TracyHensel Whoever you are, I don't know you personally but I can say based on your posts and profile that you're one of the non-judgmental and open-minded people who is not fixated on tangible or external factors in order to learn from someone like me. Just because someone doesn't have a piece of paper as a credential, doesn't mean that person is not entitled to share personal experiences with the hope & intention to inspire others. Keep up with whatever it is that you're doing to improve mankind or improving your life even to a slight degree each day. This is just one part of a bigger puzzle for creating my TH-cam channel about holistic health. I literally could have died back when I was 14 years old due to major depression but here I am right now replying to you, a TH-camr, who's full of fulfillment and dedication to help others to be a better version of themselves. I ain't better than anyone else but my old self. That's all that really makes this TH-cam thing more meaningful and enjoyable. Thanks so much for your support! I am hoping that you can join me with this endless personal development journey! :)

Tracy, I watch and rewatch your videos all the time. I pick up lots of pearls of wisdom all the time. This video has made a lot of sense to me. Lately, I have seen in myself that my priorities are all over the place and boundaries are a little tough for me. Saying no to work is very hard. Recently, I was scheduled off for a day at work. Less than one hour into my scheduled time off, I received notification that there was a serious issue going on at work. I went in to investigate to find it wasn't as serious as I thought it was. This is one of many times I have sacrificed what was important to me to put someone else needs first. I do it all. the. time. I always have. I agree it's an opportunity for coaching. But, I would venture a guess that I am not the only person who struggles with this. Could you do some more boundary setting videos? I know I would appreciate it and given this is a typically female issue, I am sure other viewers would also appreciate it. Many thanks for all you do!

Revisiting this video. The "life coach" videos you do are my favs. There are lots of beauty over 40 videos out there but so few relatable life coaching videos. I don't have a sister and, while my Mom is a super sweet lady, when trying to strive for the best me, I don't feel like I have a great deal of coaching resources. TY for being one!

Good morning! Thank you for bringing to light such an important topic. We live in a very different time with social media, however, this is an age old topic that never seems to change.....inferior feelings of self worth....the fine line of confidence vs. haughty behavior. Ugh. You have wise words for all ages! Thanks for posting. Just love all of your videos. Happy weekend! Enjoy life and those in your life. ;)

I honestly appreciate how you take out your time to share all you know! Many people won’t do that. Your videos are inspirational.
In one of your videos, you mention how research is important if you want to succeed in a field. I know you are the best in your field. But may i suggest you some video series on life style coaching that you can watch as a part of your research. I am not anyway related to this lady but her videos have changed my life. If you may, please search ‘happiness unlimited by bk shivani’ english version. There are many more video series by her like ‘being bliss’, ‘healer within’, ‘being divine’, etc.. They have english subtitles.
You have helped so many people. This is a small gift from one of those people to you.

I agree with you Tracy, I do understand the points you are making. However, I DID air dirty laundry on social media , in a closed group with friends, and they were so incredibly helpful. They were my rock during a time a family member was exploiting my mother - orchestrated by my jealous sister. A sister who was jealous my mother made me, the younger sister, her POA and MPOA. (it is a lot of work, nothing really to be jealous about!) Anyway, it was a nightmare and my mother died from the stress and I was assaulted by the person when I was trying to protect my mother. I think social media (you have to know your tribe) can be an amazing support system. But yes, just trash talking someone on social media is definitely an un-classy and, quite frankly, immature thing to do. But sometimes reaching out, not caring what people think and being transparent is a very good thing! Like you once said, people like relatable! I even had a friend say to me "this may sound strange, but it is good in a way to see this side of you..it makes you more relatable!" Hence, proving your point! :) People were a bit jealous and a bit suspicious because my life seemed "perfect" to them.. which was really just a lot of hard work and discipline to achieve a certain life and lifestyle. But once they saw me going through a real nightmare they were right there supporting me. That is all I wanted to say as I think it is important to be authentic... to show the good and the bad. It is important to not show only the good things in ones life and hide the rest. Friendships can't be built on sharing only the fabulous stuff. :)

what about family? what if you work on this type of relationships and they just won't budge. I think this is also a situation when you should have the confidence and the strength to let go and move on. Not all family are created equal. I love them but I don't have to accept their destructive behaviors. If i'am changing and their not and they can't see that , then they will be left in the dust. Because life is about evolving as a human being. If your family holds you back in becoming your best version and perhaps by you doing this you break the toxic cycle and improve the next generation of the blood line. That is something worth sacrificing for. And to do that you need confidence! Thanks for your advice Tracy!
