    I love the detailed explanations for attack release and threshold. That helps so much with everything. Not just this one aspect.

      So many people just tell you WHAT to set them as and never Why...
      So I figured I'd at least include what the setting does so you can tweak it yourself if you need to!
      Thanks for checking out the video though.. I hope it helped 🔥

      @ajsarsfield definitely helped just got done setting it up and going to test it out in stream.
      I do have one more question. Can I add a second compressor/ducking filter to my desktop audio for when I stream with other streamers so when they talk the gameplay/music gets softer as well? Or will that conflict with my primary one?

    • @ajsarsfield
      @ajsarsfield  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @kazunage I think it should work..🤔 as long as they're on a different audio channel and aren't coming through the desktop..
      I'm not sure what would happen if you both spoke at the same time though 😅
      I'd set it up and test it out.. you can always switch off the filter if it does something weird 🤭

    I think the reason that it doesn't get used more, is because of things like Sound Alerts, and the Twitch Integrated Throwing System needing to play sounds. Ducking is great when you're just talking into the mic, but for the additional audience interaction stuff, you'd have to set up a new Ducking filter for each one in whichever audio source(s) you wish to lower. Which is why most people just limit their game audio in a more permanent fashion.
    I do like this method though, in fact I love it, and with some tweaking/prep I'll be using it from now on.
    Once again, thanks for the awesome advice.

    I dont know why it didnt work with other videos I have watched, but this is easy and it worked with no issues.

    Thank You So Much For All You Video Do You Also Thing That I Could Add Limiter Filter in there also as the game sometime pop in the red of the Audio when Gaming

    • @ajsarsfield
      @ajsarsfield  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Of course you can!!
      I often add limiters to my desktop or game audio just incase it does suddenly get loud when I'm not talking..
      ..
      I'd personally set a limiter a bit lower than my Vocal limiter
      So like -10db or so..
      but obviously feel free to play around with that to YOUR taste.

      Not everyone likes how this sounds but I personally think ducking can be so useful for live streaming 'cause you avoid that awkward "clashing" when you're talking

    I personally prefer to EQ out the mid range of music and other sound sources, the audio ducking doesn't sound that natural to me. But that's just me and my musician brain lmao, great tutorial!

      Thats not a bad way to do it as well..🔥
      Depends on what you're listening to or watching at the time
      I do that sometimes when I edit videos actually!

    This seems really stupid but how do you separate your broadcast stream mix and chat mic using the goxlr?

    • @ajsarsfield
      @ajsarsfield  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh! - Thats an easy one...
      In the GoXLR routing table you just uncheck the microphone from the broadcast mix,
      and then in OBS you have 1 audio input as the broadcast mix and a 2nd input as the GoXLR microphone
      Then you can filter them separately (hope that makes sense)

    • @AtomicYin
      @AtomicYin 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ajsarsfield You have no idea how long it has taken me to sort this out thank you! Obviously I can still change the audio with the actual mixer, so if I audio duck the broardcast, that means that my game, music will all be ducked the same is that, right?
      If that makes sense. If I wanted to duck the music and gameplay separately, would I have to disable them in the mounting table and make another input capture within obs?

    • @ajsarsfield
      @ajsarsfield  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @AtomicYin Correct!
      Anything you need to do seperately, you'd remove from the table and add to OBS Individually.
      Most of the time I wanted my game/music to be quiter when I spoke so I just left it all in the broadcast mix BUT I know some people want to do different levels for different inputs

    • @AtomicYin
      @AtomicYin 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ajsarsfield Hm I disabled the music tab in the rounting table, and it's not appearing as an audio input device inside obs.
      I'm with you, I feel like audio ducking the music for just chatting is perfect but for game audio I can control that fine with the slider.

    This literally did nothing when I followed step by step. Could using a headset be effecting this? Zero change in a before and after as if I never touched a single setting.
