I also wish they'd upgrade Flare (the OG AoE, not just the new lvl 100 end of SUCCESSFUL rotation version which is nice), or give us Nuke. I was so stoked when I got flare, but it just seemed to get less... satisfying as I leveled on... Maybe I've just become too desensitized and need larger booms.
I personally play my preferred DPS for one reason; dying without guilt! As a Dragoon, when I die people don't get mad, they just understand. We die, it's what we do!
Playing Ninja, it feels weird to be lumped with the Naruto crowd when I picked up the class just because I like hearing the TONK TONK TONK sounds of the Mudras hahaha
I took it up because it was one of my favorite classes in FF Tactics, alongside the always memey assassin. Also, at the time people actually wanted them for utility, which was always a role I wanted to fill. I've actually skewed more towards DRK and pure dps now, since most of the heavy utility aspects of classes are gone.

As a Blue Mage, I like going in front of a random healer, saying "Trust fall" then cast self-destruct and see if they revive me. Most of them do, especially when I do it in a crowded area.
Someone did this to me against a fate boss and I was SO confused. They just coup de grace the boss with a self destruct explosion and left before I could revive them
You just said what I wanted to say. I have all jobs at 80 but dragoon has the most smooth rotation in most situations and it's like a loop easy and cool to do.
Your wordplay, and especially your enjoyment of it, always brings me life, but this one was especially good. The bard jokes, in particular. As a saxophonist, I've had many years of corny music jokes, but this was simply amazing throughout. :D
For me Pugilist/Monk was my starting job. I've used only this class all the way to Shadowbringers (along the way unlocking Samurai, Red Mage and Dark Knight to level up later). It has always been my #1 choice in mmo's (if given as a option) to pick a martial arts class. It's just a badass feeling i get when for example: someone needs a sword to kill a god like being, while me doing the same thing but using my bare fists and legs (and some ki control powers) to grant me victory, especially on FFXIV when you use Emperor's New Weapon glamour to make it more litteral.
DPS are the chads of the classes. Brutal queue times, more competition making that commend feel special and knowing you're the one dragging everyone through that roulette grind as fast as you possibly can and hardly ever being appreciated for it. It's a thankless job for the true heroes.

My friends finally convinced me to play FFXIV with them just over a month or so ago and I'm so glad they did! Especially during times like this where we can't see each other but enjoy a wonderful game together :D Also so glad I found your videos, they've really helped me to understand classes/jobs more and helped me decide which one I want to try next (currently a White Mage). I play Red Mage. It's a very easy to learn job. And I love paying attention to my mana gauge so I can make on the fly decisions about what skills to use next. I also love having Verraise so that I can help the healers and the party out without the anxiety of being a healer. I can raise half the party and then backflip off the platform or into a death wall with no shame.
If someone hasn’t already done the full Legend of Zelda main theme as a bard, I’d be disappointed. But seriously there’s so many awesome classes in this game it’s crazy. Even if you were only on the free trial version, you’d still have many jobs and classes to work on that you would be able to play for months and not get bored. So far I’m very happy with this game and appreciate videos like this to tell about all these roles to play. 😄

I stopped being BLM after heavensward. Then switch to redmage then to dancer. I always look forward in dungeons if my dance partner is BLM. Got annoyed when their damage is bad. Then i realized, i should be doing damage if that annoys me. Went back to BLM. And now i love every minute of it.
Machinist has been my pet love to play through ShB with. It is a job that feels mechanical in its execution without any reliance on RNG. I'm surprised I haven't seen more MCH post upgrade.
as a blackmage main I was looking forward to seeing takes on it and... well yeah BOOM. It was my first class and its still my favourite because EXPLOSIONS
My main is Ninja and the reason I play it is because... well... I've always like the Rouge-like class in video games. Doesn't matter if it's Ninja, Assassin or anything along the lines of that I always pick it.
Have you seen a lalafell ninja run? Unlike the others, when they have their weapons out, they look as though they're doing an airplane run with their arms spread out, which I find adorable. Their sprint animation is different too.

Blue Mage is fun! You wack opponents with a fish, then start debuffing and stunning them, then use instacast Primal attacks on them. Or you become a healer and use moogles and slimes to heal, buff, and cure your team.
Samurai has amazing animations, ability names that remind me of FFXI, and since I don't have any utility it's my zen class. Meaning that I don't worry about the world and just focus on my beautiful moves and chill. 😎
I've been having a blast with Machenist, Dragoon and I'm even leveling a Dance now... omg Dancers are SOOOOO fun, and just seeing the whirlwind of Chakra blades everywhere is awesome. I'm looking forward to trying Black Mage next... because.. BOOM EXPLOSIONS! 🤣

I've mained tank for almost the entire time since 2.0. Been leveling other jobs and have gotten to DPS. I can't stand it waiting in que for 5 minutes to half an hour. I dunno how you guys do it. Additionally, I wish it was in the devs' power to give us the ability to que for 2-3 things at once so whatever pops first, we can do that.

I play RDM for my DPS because I love the mobility. Castings spells and then dashing in to cut some fool is awesome. Then buffing my melee bois on the way out is sick. Also, as a practitioner of European sword arts, it's really cool that a lot of the melee attacks have names of techniques from those sword arts, even if they don't actually represent what those moves really are (looking at you, zwerchau). It's also cool to know that Aeris's voice actress plays red mage as well.
Geno San Diego A lot of other streamers and content creators say that as well. I guess it’s because MMOs are an “escape” for people. Leave the world for a couple hours and just focus in their worlds without any distractions and such.

My main is Ninja and the reason I play it is because... well... I've always like the Rouge-like class in video games. Doesn't matter if it's Ninja, Assassin or anything along the lines of that I always pick it.

Have you seen a lalafell ninja run? Unlike the others, when they have their weapons out, they look as though they're doing an airplane run with their arms spread out, which I find adorable. Their sprint animation is different too.
The bard's rotation is literally a never ending cycle. You can keep the rotation going if you learn when exactly you should switch into each song

Blue Mage is fun! You wack opponents with a fish, then start debuffing and stunning them, then use instacast Primal attacks on them.
Or you become a healer and use moogles and slimes to heal, buff, and cure your team.

I've mained tank for almost the entire time since 2.0. Been leveling other jobs and have gotten to DPS. I can't stand it waiting in que for 5 minutes to half an hour. I dunno how you guys do it.
Additionally, I wish it was in the devs' power to give us the ability to que for 2-3 things at once so whatever pops first, we can do that.

I play RDM for my DPS because I love the mobility. Castings spells and then dashing in to cut some fool is awesome. Then buffing my melee bois on the way out is sick. Also, as a practitioner of European sword arts, it's really cool that a lot of the melee attacks have names of techniques from those sword arts, even if they don't actually represent what those moves really are (looking at you, zwerchau). It's also cool to know that Aeris's voice actress plays red mage as well.
