Top 10 TH-cam Video Saves in F1 👀 Thanks to our eagle-eyed fans for alerting us to a bit of time travel on one of our clips. You deserve to be at #1 on this list for catching it! We hope you enjoy the video 👍
Dude his career went from being constantly demoted to getting consistent finishes and good points. It’s almost as if he came back like a *T O R P E D O*
Max save was sheer brilliance, he was so close to the barrier that he could not continue with counter lock as that way he would do a 360 and put him in the barrier. Instead he straightened out the wheel, that way the momentum of the car (possible mostly thanks to a wet road, on a dry road much harder, you need significantly more momentum) carried the car forward, then when the car slowed down a bit, regained balance and traction, he turned right and released the brakes. As an example we can take Vettel from this video, he had all the road from left to right, if Max continued with counter lock (instead of straighting out the wheel), he would spun a 360, but because Max was so close to the barrier He would ended up in the barriers instead of 360 as the oversteer was going towards barrier side.
@@KryssN1 Verstappen sometimes does a bit of drifting (on dry road) on the last lap of a race he is winning. Just because he can (and it's fun) and he doesn't care about saving his tyres at this point. I don't think others ever tried to attempt that.
For me, Kobayashi's is the craziest and best one of all. Losing it in a middle of a flat out corner, catching it, going onto the grass and gravel and catching it again. Absolutely amazing in my opinion.
They're saves in the sense that instead of completely losing the car and hitting a wall/beaching on grass or gravel, they kept the car going. Also because a complete 360 spin takes more skill to pull off (and wastes less time) than having to turn the car around from sideways or backwards.
@@SteRumbelow Verstappen's save was skill, because he learned to correct this type of slide on 4 wheelers with his dad when he was young. He used the brakes and steering exactly in the way he trained, so how can it be luck?
@@SteRumbelow if you think that was luck, you have no idea. You still need to put in the right amount of break pressure, release them correctly, give the right amount of throttle to get the car stabel again...the list goes on
Honestly, a 360° spin is so elegant. Seeing the tyre marks begin to weave in and out of each other is nice to see, and then seeing the wheels lock in place on the asphalt as they look to rocket away again is just... so nice to see.
1:22 Vettel's save was the best among the modern ones. You could hardly put newspapers between his front right wheel and the wall. The rear right wheel was probably even closer during the spinning. Absolutely unbelievable that he didn't hit that wall.
