    2 videos you need to do. "What camera gear I use" & "How I pack for travel"

      I will do a gear video at some point.. and my advice for travel packing coming to Bangkok... Dont! haha theres everything you need here and more. Better off taking things from here back home instead of bringing things to Thailand

    The biggest costs is still the Condo. The price range are huuuuge and sometimes unbelievable cheap OR expensive. My Condo is a bit pricy for a 1 Bedroom + 1Bathroom but I choosed it because of the view. You should mention that the prices for the condos you show are mostly for a 1 year contract. If you stay only 1,2,3 month or just some weeks the prices get quick high. I'm envy of your internet-speed. I only have 50/20 :( But ok....

      Thanks Franko I appreciate you taking the time to watch. Sometime you can get good deals on Airbnb for monthly stays so didn’t want to rule that out. But your ryt I probably should have made it clear that my costs were for 1+ year long stays rather than short to mid term holidays. I’m 100% paying for the view and location on my place haha but I still love it! Would be good to catch up with a coffee some time if you free

      Think it's absolutely worth it to spend a bit more and have a place you enjoy coming home to. For me anyways. I'd really be interested to know more about the ins and outs of rental leases? That could be a vlog suggestion all of it's own. eg;what happens if a lease is broken? What visa / ID is needed to sign on etc.

    $1,000 U.S. dollars a month is tight but with a strong U.S. dollar it is possible but $2,000 is a good number so one can keep up with inflation for years.

    Good video, i think it's pretty much how i would live, but there is one thing your forgot an that is the cost of visa, how much does the visa cost per month and how much does borderrund/visaruns cost, or what is the price for 90 days reporting and so forth?

  • @Kn1ghtMan

    Hi Rob! Sawatdee krup from California 🙏
    Thank you for the insight. I'm curious, is this 1k USD budget still doable today (taking into account this video is a year old).
    I'm near 40 years of age and I feel like moving out there. I visited Thailand for almost a year back in 2006 so I have some familiarity. My plan would be to teach English initially until I can move onto more lucrative trades or work remotely.
    I don't smoke, drink alcohol or even party. Im more than happy to eat Thai food off the streets 100% of the time. I do love my iced coffees though, bot sure how much they run now. Sometimes I'd settle for those Birdy canned coffees at 7-Eleven haha.
    I'd like to start in BKK just for more job opportunities, maybe even through an agency to secure the job (although I realize they take a percentage). I'm fine with a simple apartment or studio as long as it's close to the BTS.
    Any info would be appreciated!

    You forgot to include visa cost.

    • @ProjectBangkok
      @ProjectBangkok  ปีที่แล้ว

      Theres so many different visas it is impossible to add that to the budget.. I have an elite visa myself.. so would be completely unfair to add that to the costs compared to an education visa.
      I will do a dedicated visa video at some point when I work my way through the mine field of information haha
