I agree with this- not to mention permanent staff always calling in sick where I am lol they would really struggle. I do agency and my workplace keeps asking me to do permanent, I’m good😅 Go away with that, I’ve been agency for a year and a half in the same LA. There is a meeting coming up with all locum SW for benefits of working as permanent😂

That's interesting, I wonder why they feel it is appropriate to place restrictions on agency work in social work, restrictions that do not exist in other industries? Any agency work in professional roles has always paid significantly more than permanent roles for all the obvious reasons, eg. lack of job security, lack of benefits - sick pay, pension, paid maternity leave etc etc. Why should someone in nursing, IT, medicine, accounting, etc. etc. have preferential agency working structures to a social worker? When you first put out your videos as young, black women saying how you managed to buy homes through agency salaries I thought there would be a backlash. I don't think such proposals would have been made if social work was a white and/or male dominated sector like medicine, IT and accounting.. This really whiffs of the big 'r' and 's' words to me as social work in the UK is a profession dominated by women and so called ethnic minorities.
Agency workers can come back in any period. The current rule in place is that if you are perm you cannot come back as an agency worker within 6 months. They are trying to apply this to agency workers as well!

Hey ladies, thanks for the helpful video again. God help them if they go ahead with this proposal lol! I’ve been hearing a lot about certain agencies scamming and not paying SW’s taxes to HMRC, leaving SW’s in debt. Please could you explain this? xx

😂 shells has that eye roll on smash! Something in the corporate world I.E business/ financial data analyst, accounting, investment banking, project management and the rest of them xxx

@@wondersworldd I was thinking about studying a subject within the corporate sector too. I accepted my offer to study social work this September after dropping out uni twice. Uni is not for the weak 😂😂I got diagnosed with serve depression and anxiety trying to gain a law degree and gain work experience in such a competitive field it broke me mentally.
Not to mention that I will get a degree at 26 yrs old cause my academic profile wasn't the best nobody clocked that I had a learning disability for the longest time so I didn't get to secure a degree by the typical age of 21. I'm a fighter so I kept pushing. I'm gonna keep it real I've NEVER HAD A JOB ‼‼‼‼apart from being a care assistant for 3 weeks. Where I live would not give me a chance to gain work experience unless I had experience I'm confused how I can have experience if you don't give me the chance to prove myself whilst gaining the experience.
Eventhough I hate these changes I need a degree that guarantees that I will have a job as soon as I finish uni because I can't be 26 and feel like I'm stuck in the ONE DAMN PLACE MY WHOLE LIFE. I DON'T KNOW HOW I'LL COPE WITH THAT TBH😭😭😭😭. I was thinking about studying psychology with counselling but that's another shit show in itself like I love the corporate sector but I refuse to graduate jobless it's a serious crisis
