I am really grateful I came across your video! I was recently diagnosed with a Chronic Calcified Meningioma 2 months ago. The only reason I found out was I passed out and fell into a glass door."🤦I have had 2 CT scans , MRI and and a EEG and your video has explained to me information I did not understand at first." Thank you so much! And now I know why it is important to go to the doctors, I could've caught it a year ago.👍

I found your video to be informative and interesting.
My doctor first diagnosed me with falx Meningioma positioned at the occipital lobe measuring 1.9 x1.8x 0.9 cm in year 2012. He recommended watchful waiting, reviewing my situation yearly. For certain reasons, I only went back to the doctor in 2022 and the MRI of the brain showed that the brain tumour has fortunately not grown. The neurosurgeon once again advised continued observation and come back in a year. I do not exhibit any symptoms like headaches, fits or loss of balance although i do have vision wobbles occasionally.
Your expert advice and comment here will be deeply appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I started having seizures very suddenly in my early forties. I had also been getting crippling headaches for years and started having nausea every morning but could vomit at at any time without having the nausea warning signs.
I had been having tonic clonic seizures for two years that was misdiagnosed as panic attacks which I'd never had. After two years of my two young children (6 and 4) had been finding me on the floor fitting, I was finally diagnosed with epilepsy. They told me that because I was presenting with these terrible headaches and nausea that it would be best to have an MRI to rule out a brain tumour, as the three symptoms I was getting were typical signs.
They gave me the MRI as told me it was clear of any signs of a tumour and I was put on meds to treat my other symptoms.
About 2 years late I was rushed into hospital in agony with what turned out to be a large gallstone blocking my main bile duct and also I'd been complaining of bad pain in my right side, nothing was done about it until I called 999 for an ambulance as I was in so much pain I couldn't walk.
I was admitted to a different hospital than the one that had done my MRI and given me the all clear so while they were doing lots of investigations into the source of my pain and they were in the middle of doing a lumbar puncture, the doctor said very casually, "oh you do know you've got a brain tumour don't you".
I was staggered to hear this news but by the way it was given to me. After about they found the gallstone and sent me home on prescription Morphine until I could get keyhole surgery. I'd only been in this hospital for no more than a week and when I arrived home there was a letter on my doormat from the hospital that had done the first MRI looking to rule out a brain tumour explaining that although they had said it was clear "there were in fact, clear signs of the tumour".
As if that wasn't bad enough, they assigned me a neurosurgeon who told me zero information about my meningioma other than the fact that that's what it was. He flat out refused to perform a biopsy, telling me it was far to dangerous to perform, and when I asked how big it was he told me "oh you dony need to know that. It's tiny!"
I was looking at the screen with that first MRI they'd said was clear and I could see it was about the size of a grape. When I asked if the the MRI was to scale he pretended not to understand my question and so I still know very little about it because when I asked for a second opinion they sent the very same neurosurgeon to a different hospital and expected me to accept this. I refused to see him as it wasn't going to be a second opinion.
The most information I got was from my epileptologist who told me the reason my seizures would start in my left hand and then quickly speard upwards to my entire brain was because the tumour was on the right side of my brain, that my epilepsy was called " secondary generalised" and that the tumour had caused lesions on my brain.
The four years that it took to reach this point where four years out of my ten year old sons life who didn't understand what was happening to his mum but has grown afraid of me and so he left to live with his father and refused to see me again.
Now I a neurosurgeon who is trying to play down the tumour as "calcification" and telling me that my seizures, headaches and nausea have nothing to do with the calcification.
Strange how they told me that those symptoms were pretty common and classic signs of a brain tumour that was the reason they gave me the MRI in the first place.
The Neurosurgeon has stopped any further growth check MRI scans and I have a new epeleptologist who's trying to change my seizure diagnosis, writing in my notes that I never have any evidence of incontinence of urine or a bitten tongue/lip etc, when I've told him the complete opposite. I've had seizures where I come around and have lost two teeth, or they've been put on the hospital table next to my bed.
My mother witnessed one of my serial seizures along with the emergency paramedics who came to my house to stop me seizing and get me into hospital and I can't understand why this new epileptologist is lying...?!
I'm sitting looking at a consultants letter from the hospital that found my tumour incidentally, saying "to whom it may concern, this lady has had two wittnessed serial seizures in this hospital".
The, letter had been lost for a few years but I've just found it tonight. Anyone else who has full tonic clonic (grand mal) seizures will tell you that they have a terrible effect on your memory and can cause confusion and memory problems problems for weeks or even months if you've had a cluster of them or they were serial seizures. Your brains are literally scrambled.
I'm due another neurology appointment next month and my mother who was to ill to attend my last appointment as my "witness", died last year so I'll be on my own so I'm so relieved I've found that letter!
I was told by a uk meningioma charity that a benign tumour can still have a 14% of turning malignant so I'm trying to get my growth MRI scans back. The neurosurgeon had reduced them to 1 every 3 years but took great pleasure in telling me he wasn't going to do anymore with an awful smirk on his face.
I've read and heard that some psychopaths make great surgeon. Particularly brain surgeons, and I'm positive he's one of those men. The last words he said to me before I'd had a chance to react to his choice to stop any further MRI's was "and you can complain if you want but it won't make any difference". I just walked out of his office in shock.
I'm sorry this post is so long but I've never told my story about the poor NHS treatment I got and am still getting. If you're still reading then thank you for making it all the way through to the end! I think I just needed to get what I considered to be what has been quite traumatic to me out of my sytem by writing most of it down.

Consulted 2 neurologist and 1 neurosurgen, their opinion to do biopsy to trace out tumor or cancerous tumor. They explained that biopsy is one type of surgery. They clarified that there is a risk in treatment due to her old age. Our family decided not to go for surgery. Is there any alternate treatment for it? Please guide us.

My father was diagnosed with meningioma in 2018 and his doctor suggested surgery which he did. I think the meningioma removed was on the center. He was 81 at that time and very able to walk but having problem with his balance. After the surgery, he couldn’t walk anymore and wheelchair bound up to now 2023. He did some therapy but to no luck still can’t walk. What do you think happened in the surgery why it affected his mobility? Any suggestion how he can get back his mobility?
Now just recently an MRI was done on him and found another meningioma developed on the right side of his brain and doctor suggested a radiation this time. He’s now 86. We’re afraid how this going to affect him again. Is this still advisable for his age? What are the risk if he did not get any treatment for this new developed meningioma? What other options besides radiation and surgery? Thank you. Hoping you can give me advice on this.

And Indeed I never had any seizures after the surgery. But, one thing that concerns me is my left side is slightly weaker, especially since my left foot is numbed all along. I have been doing physiotherapy all along.

In case if you are already operated for meningioma, if there is a residual tumor it can be subjected to gamma knife therapy which will decrease the chances of its recurrence

I’m about to investigate this because I can’t seem to find any information or research with these two terms together. iodine deficiency and meningioma. Hello sir,
My father is having brain tumor at right frontal convexity in brain( i.e benign one which is non cancerous) of size 2.6 cm.
We got this information after a random MRI by father himself . Before knowing about this tumor my father got a TIA attack.
So could u please help me to what to do ?
My father is very tensioned about this tumor. Because after having medicines he got some symptoms of headache and dizziness.
Can u tell me about the gamma knife that is if it is safe and also hoe much safe in india for having gamma knife operation .
Could u please suggest some location in india for gamma knife operation?

Gamma knife is a safe option and definitely recommended for less than 3 cm size of tumor. It's available at AIIMS Delhi, PGI Chandigarh, Hinduja hospital Mumbai and NIMHANS Bangalore . There maybe other centres too but I know of only these
