I work in orthopedics, you are very lucky to have saved the elbow joint. Bone loss from a compound fracture around a joint usually results in a pretty catastrophic loss of function. Thankfully that fragment the EMTs found allowed you to keep the overall structure of your elbow. You are very early on in your orthopedic journey. Next surgery will continue to rebuild that joint. Give it time, work with your surgeon, the body heals slow. Don’t cut your hand off in the next 3 years. Godspeed my friend
Glad someone else said this already. While we have made some advancements in terms of arm prothestics they're not as functional as what he has now and even the better ones that have more hand control aren't great. Even more so since he's older and lost an arm. Younger kids who never had an arm seem to have better luck with prothestics since they're learning from nothing vs trying to do the same thing with different "equipment"
Word of caution. There is a girl on TH-cam who had her leg mangled from a horse accident. She had the leg removed to stop the pain. It did not stop the pain ! So, hope you get back into the improvise, adapt and overcome mindset ! Thank you for your service, you and your family are a legends all around !!!
Phantom pain is not a choice. The brain is still wired for the pain, and when the limb is gone it goes a bit haywire. There are exercises to correct it but it's not a mindset kind of thing.
Yes this is Footless Jo, she also just had a stroke. As an additional word of caution to Anthony, if the hand is still working I would seriously consider just keeping the arm regardless. It may never be the same, but a working hand is worth its weight in gold.
Don’t give up on that arm yet. I had a similar situation and doctors thought optimistically I would have limited use of my left arm - if any. Here I am 2 years later at 100% Hang in there dude 🙏
Same here. I shattered my left arm ulna and radius near the elbow while skateboarding and everything is fully recovered years later. It wasn't a compound wound like he suffered but anything's possible!
Brother, I respect your love for the hobby, but your kids, your partner. They’ve been with you every step of the way. Please try not to put them through that again (Or worse)
@MichaelPflaumer-hy7skdon't be that guy. Thrill seaking stuff should be at the bottom of a list when you have a wife and young kids depending on you. It's prioritizing. Yeah, it can be boring but sometimes you have to put dangerous shit on the shelf when you choose to have a family. Common sense.
I mangled my leg. I used to think the same thing in that I’d be better off without it. After talking to some people with prosthetics, I quickly changed my mind. It’s easy to think that’s the better solution since it is extremely painful, and a nuisance at times, but I think down the road you’ll be grateful you still have it. Glad you’re okay man. It’s cool to see someone else acknowledge their blessings. Suffering is temporary.
He made the comment that his hand is fine, so I would think at worst he just ends up with a brace to lock out his arm from moving in a way that is painful.
Dude. You're life is Gold! No dollar amount will ever come close to the Wife and Kids and friends that you have in the inner circle. You have struck precious metal beyond the moon and back. The positive attitude. The selflessness and much much more. Absolutely outstanding with how well you are recovering. The attitude is everything and you are richest man on earth right now.
I broke my leg extremely bad about 8 years ago. You mentioned in the video how it feels like your elbow is shift out and around. I had the same feeling with my ankle I think its a bit of a nerve system illusion. Like I drive stick and it was my clutch leg that I broke. I remember pushing down that clutch peddle the first time 4 months after and it felt my leg was bowing out to the side. But I have a metal bar in my leg and there is no way the titanium was bending. I think all the nerve damage that is caused in a situation like that sends extremely mix signals to your brain and then it tries to make sense of it. 8 years down the line most of the nerves are fine there still one part near my knee that when I touch my brain tells me I'm touching the other side of my leg. You describe that tho made me think of exactly what I was going through. Hang in there you got a great support team. You already through the hard part.
Thank you, Sam! You’re absolutely right. Speaking of friends, one of my really good friends has the same last name as you. I think (I could be wrong), that he and his family are from Salt Lake City.
Thank you, brother. I lost 3 of my brothers in Afghanistan in 2011. I think of them everyday. Last year, one of my best friends dies while I was flying beside him. I think of him everyday too. I wish all of them were still here. I am, and for that, I am grateful. I owe it to them to live life to the fullest and not take it for granted. Even though they're gone, they motivate me everyday. That, and my wife is so supportive. Thank YOU for your comment. It motivates me as well. 🙏 Thank you VERY much.
Thanks brother. That means a lot to me. And you’re welcome! I have quite a bit of extra time on my hands, AND I love creating video. Oddly enough, I never wanted to be the subject of my video, but it’s difficult to get others to let me film them.
I did send money to the gofundme because your a brother of arms and I felt so terrible for your family and at the time I was really worried you wouldn’t recover as well as you did in this video. So glad you made it (almost). I respect your decision if you decide to stop Paramotoring, maybe take up PPL or maybe try flying a mosquito XEL ultralight helicopter? Just something a little less arm and body usage. Great video!
Thank you for supporting me. Considering all of the damage and surgeries, I am feeling beyond blessed to be progressing as well as I am. Also, thank YOU for your service. I believe that paramotoring has a lot to offer to Veterans like you and I. Do you fly paramotors? Interestingly, someone else suggested that I give powered parachute a try. Considering how big those are, I would truly love to fly a fixed wing ultralight, like the Areolite 103. I have even seen some amazing looking bush plane ultralights in a taildragger configuration. Ugh!!! The thought of is super exciting! Anyways, looking forward to hearing back from you, brother. And seriously, I can't thank you enough for your support. Oh! And have you ever listened to The Paramotor Podcast? I think I will start making more episodes soon.
@@AnthonyVella after 10 years of service, I wanted to learn when I got out and had more time to fly. I then had a child and I gave up riding a motorcycle and my idea of flying a Paramotor until she’s out of the house, it happened right around Jeff Chorba’s passing and then I realized accidents still can happen even if you are an expert at the sport. I would still be interested in a ultralight or PPL just for safety reasons. But I gave up some dreams because she’s more important to me than having an accident that I don’t come back from and leaving my wife and daughter alone. I do listen to your podcast, I believe I started listening to the first episode and have since. 👍
That is awesome to hear. If you ever want to chat more about getting into flying, please reach out to me on facebook or instagram. I'll give you my number on there and then I will give you a ring. I love talking about flying. But yes, as a father and a husband, there is a lot to consider. 🙂
Your story connects to me so hard, I'm 22, and 6 months ago I was released from the army, my first week at home I was involved in an extreme motorcycle accident, I broke every bone in my right hand and arm up to the shoulder and had to 2 open fractures in my left hand, shattered my hip, tore my urethra, and broken 4 ribs. I also had the idea of amputating my right arm as at the time it hurt just to exist with it and it was basically useless, I'm happy to tell you from experience that every week it gets better, and I can now use both of my hands for day to day activities also starting to train with weights again. it probably will hurt forever but every day it gets less and less painful. I wish you the best of luck in your recovery, my friend!
Anthony I'm so happy you're back home, and recovering! The footage of the crash was just unbelievable, you really had a guardian angel that day! Sounds like you have an amazing support system over there, and I do hope that you see a full recovery with your arm so you can get back out there flying again! Was super cool to see that @TuckerGott came out, what a good dude! Stay strong and keep moving forward, also, thank you for your service!
Anthony, I’ve been a long time viewer of your channel, I saw your crash video just a few hours after it was posted. It was unexpected, shocking, excruciatingly painful and emotional to watch, to say the least. It was as if I was watching a friend, during some of his worse moments. Certainly my suffering was nothing in comparison to your own, but know a lot of your fans suffered, in our own way, as well. I was watching your videos and others, like Tucker’s, with the idea of possibly taking up the sport of paramotoring, even in my advanced years. It didn’t take long after seeing your horrendous video, that I’ve decided it’s not for me. Your decision to continue to fly is a personal one, for sure. But I know you realize, while “personal,” it does affect your wife and children, in a very big way as well. I can only imagine the concern maybe even fear, those of your family, and your friends, will experience with each flight, should you decide to return. Finally I am so grateful to see you doing well in your recovery. I’ve especially enjoyed your last two videos sharing your experiences and thoughts since that dreadful day. I wish you the best, knowing you’re counting your many blessings along the way. We have learned from experience, we need the clouds of yesterday to know how wonderful the sun is today. With all the years you have to look forward to, here’s to a long, lifetime of bright, blue, sunny days. From Las Vegas, Nevada, my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
I pray and hope that you be well soon and no amputation keep what God gave you and have faith that He will heal you body! God bless you and your family!
Watched your video, then watched Tucker's interview. Came back to say, risking your life as a hobby is a childless man's game. I used to say I'm completely fine with dying, I want to live life to the fullest. Now having a wife and 3 kids, I break down crying just at the thought of my kids experiencing my death and growing up without a father. When you get back to physical flying condition, I hope there is a hobby you can take up that doesn't involve strapping yourself to a kite. And if you do start flying again, your wife and kids will be stressed and anxious every time you leave the house. My kids are my world. I would hate to set that on fire all for a few hours of adrenaline. I'm sorry I sound so negative. Just remember, your channel is Anthony Vella, not Paramotoring with Anthony. Praying for a quick and full recovery!
My thoughts exactly. Not disrespecting Anthony, but I'm baffled as to why he was busy with his iPhone while flying! Only one hand on the parachute at the time.
I agree with you. But it's not just a hobby for him. It's a source of income/fame/validation that can be addicting and does put some food on the table. Probably nothing else will give him near the same benefits. And he has so many eyeballs on him now from his crash. It's going to be interesting. Many women with children are married to soldiers, police, firemen, professional stuntmen, daredevils, or people who travel a lot on the road, or in planes domestically and internationally.
I totally agree with you! I used to live for adrenaline, but now I have a c4 to c5 spinal cord injury.I'd give anything to have the use of my hands and this fing guy wants to cut an arm off? I don't get it!!
I see a lot of people commenting without understanding some important aspects of the sport. Would you say the same things to someone who flies light planes for a hobby? Paramotoring is safer, statistically. And with the right effort put towards it, it can be much safer (has a very large amount of pilot-decided risk and very low equipment failure consequence when you multilayer your failsafes. Not to mention the low takeoff and landing speed, abundance of emergency landing areas due to not needing much space for it, etc, etc). The decision to fly is personal and he knows the risks better than you do.
Anthony, we are rooting for you! A lot of what you said in the beginning, I chuckled because I said to myself “that was nothing but God”. God still has His unwavering hand on you and your family. Bless you Anthony and maybe one day we will see you back in the skies❤
Please think hard before considering amputation of your arm. You still have complete use of your hand which is incredible. No amount of prosthetic tech will give you that back. Been following your journey and I'm so glad you're doing better, keep up the good work, keep listening to those physios, I know they seem masochistic at times (trust me, been there) but it'll all be worth it. Proud of your preseverence and your humour helping you get through it. - much love and support from Scotland
Amazing story👌 What a huge blessing that you have been restored to your precious family. You experienced a miracle that wasn’t happenstance IMO. Saved for a purpose 🙏
Alongside wishing you the best in your recovery, I just want to say you're a fantastic storyteller. You endured something that would put most people out of work for a serious length of time, and yet you've managed to craft enthralling content sharing your story, your struggles, and your triumphs along the way. I came to this channel knowing zero about you, discovering your content simply because of the crash, but you've managed to take a tragic event and share your experience, and inspire others who may be struggling or going through unpleasant things right now. I'm in a bit of a rough spot in my life now, and seeing you working hard through your recovery has motivated me to work hard on getting through to the other side of my own struggles. Thank you for sharing your journey, and I wish you the speediest of recoveries and massive success in all your future endeavours!
My dad got into a car accident cartwheel and flipped two times and all he had was a fractured neck. God was by his side. But I’m glad he still here with me.❤ and I’m glad you’re still here with us
Anthony, what an inspiration you are. What courage to document this journey. I can’t believe your energy and positivity. Keep it up and speedy recovery. ❤️🩹
Good to see that smile. You’ve come a long way. Hope you are able to get back in the air. I tore my Achilles tendon attempting to foot launch years ago. I decided when I healed up I was going to show that paramotor I was the boss. I did get back in the air but with wheels. Adapt and overcome. Stay strong my friend!
Thanks for sharing your experiences, the good, bad and the ugly (truth)😂. We all sometimes live in a questionable security bubble. Your honest and open transparancy of your experience, challenges that bubble for all of us.... Your journey serves as a stark reminder of our fragility, and pushing the envelope in aviation has serious consequences, not limited to ourselves but also our families. Wishing you and your loved ones a speedy recovery, physically and mentally.
Thanks for keeping so upbeat, I wrote you a long yawn-worthy sad message that I deleted as it wont serve you as good as telling you that things move on and you'll be surprised at how quickly you'll be looking back at this moment grateful you documented it. But I will say: As someone who 13 years ago broke my back and spent 18 months in chronic pain not sleeping, walked with a limp, etc.... I look back only to remember that time in my life like it was someone else's story. I've since solo travelled north an central america on a dirt bike over a year, sleeping out in the wild almost every night, and nowadays I'm an avid rock climber. Keep at it!
Amazing how FAST your recovery is going!!! I visited you in the ICU and you seemed in such good spirits and with it but didn’t remember people visiting. Just goes to show how much hospital psychosis and the mental drain being there had in you. So glad your home and recovery and rehab is happening there now. Love you man.
You are a blessed man. I destroyed my right elbow by digging up a large coral rock with it when i was younger. I had two operations also, they had to take out the screws and all thread. when you get the all clear from your doctor never stop the rehab. In are in for a fight but it is worth it.
You are doing an amazing thing, that you are bringing us along with this journey. Your accident is giving real insight when things can go wrong. I think a lot of paramotor pilot, after they watch your videos, gain better awareness about safety. There is time when you take foolishly risks, because due bad awarnes. If you prevent one accident or even death by well document accident here, you already did bring paramotor community amazing positive impact.
Hey man, I just found you and I love this story so much. I just want to say how much I would love if you posted videos of your physical therapy. As a PT student I believe I would learn so much and that would be such a helpful videos for not just me but other students as well.
That’s awesome man. Keep it up! I know your passion is paramotoring and that’s awesome. But what’s important is your family. You’re around for them. That’s worth giving up everything else.
Family and friends are everything. And yeah - keeping that arm is the best bet. PT/OT always left me in tears and cold sweats afterwards. Looking back at month 1/2/3/6, you'll be amazed how far you've come. Then you'll have to be real serious about letting your impatience outpace your healing.
I was in bad motorcycle crash in my youth, and I thought I would never ride again, but eventually I overcame the fear and rode again. I wish you the best in your recovery and hope you overcome all the obstacles in your way.
Thank you. 🙏 Some some reason, I don’t fear flying. Not to brag; I have absolutely feared things in the past. But for whatever reason, I just do worry about flying again. I just need to heal and get my family onboard with the idea of me flying again.
Sending you all the good vibes i can gather. If you don't get to Paramotor again you will find another interesting hobby to keep your brain occupied. Your wife and kids are so lucky you've made it back to them. One arm or two, your an interesting dude that i enjoy spending time with while watching your channel.
Had a life threatening illness last year. I sobbed so hard when I got home from the hospital. It actually helped a little. Seeing your recovery reminds me about it. Can I just say one day your new you is just you. And you are forever changed but in a positive way. Your outlook on life changes and life becomes normal after some time. All the best from Scotland
Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing such a personal struggle. Hope you get back on your feet soon and back in the air if/when ready. Don't give up on that right arm!
Thanks Ryan. And you’re welcome. I sure do hope that I am able to get back in the air. I miss it already. And I’ll do everything I can for the arm. I am feeling better about the future of my arm since I posted this video. 🙂
So glad you’re home! It looks like you have been blessed with a wonderful wife and children! I’ve learned a lot from your channel and just took up Paramotoring at 64 years of age.
Anthony, as a father of two myself, I know exactly how you feel regarding an early exit from this earth and the potential for it presented by this sport. I gave up motorcycles for 18 years until my kids went to college. I know you are a safe pilot and we all live with the same reality that when its our time to go, its our time to go. We are not in control of it. Fly safe and dont' do crazy stuff but enjoy your passion for flying. Life is not a dress rehearsal, so give it all you've got. You can never die if you've never lived. Keep on living with passion! God was definitely looking out for you. It wasn't your time to go. Good luck in your further recovery and thanks for your service! David Jones, Atlanta, Ga
I have been following along since your crash. Thanks for the update and congrats on being home. @TuckerGott has done some really nice things. Cool of him to come by for a visit. Just saw Tucker's video at your house as well. Good job both of you! Personally, not my decision to make for you, but for me, I would have to go back up one more time if possible for closure, and to not have that crash be my last memory of paramotoring. Keep up the great recovery!
I love reading thorough comments like yours. I appreciate you following along since the accident. Tucker and I click. In spite of what most people think, I am quite the introvert. I think Tucker is as well. It’s great, because our conversations rarely have anything to do with TH-cam and little to do with Paramotor. There is obviously so much more to life than flying and making videos. As for your thoughts on how you would handle my situation, it’s right on the money with how I feel. If I ever thought that flying again would lead to my death, I wouldn’t do it. That should go without saying. It’s unfortunate that there are a lot of people in the comments who think that I am being selfish, but clearly, those people don’t know me (or the actual risks of paramotoring). Just because I crashed, does not mean that I fear paramotoring. And it especially didn’t suddenly end my love for it. You’re 100% right about me not wanting to end it on such a bad note. Anyways, I genuinely appreciated reading your comments, and I hope to read more comments from you in the future. Or you can message me on Facebook messenger between videos if you ever have any questions or just want to chat.
As someone who experienced something similar to you I can tell you that after few surgeries and few months of recovery I am back in the air, and even by the way you speak I can tell you will be back soon too. But this kinde of things change you and the way you are flying forever. In my case I had to wait 25 long hours for the rescue with my back broken and completely destroyed elbow and wrist (very similar to yours injuries) so I had a lot of time to think about my life. Hope you will get better soon and thank you for sharing.
Anthony. Great video. Thank you for sharing all of this with us. Please, before you make any decision on removing the arm, wait one year. I have had a couple joints replaced and a back surgery. The pain remains for at least a year. Please give it a chance to heal.
I broke both my elbows in a warehouse accident many many moons ago, at least you have a hand to wipe!. Speedy recovery, love your sense of humour its awesome.
I saw the crash on FitFam, then your video of it, and I read many of the comments. I just watched your interview with Tucker, and I respect you even more for taking the critical comments with grace. Based on the interview, is seems your wife may understandably have concerns about you flying again because you said that decision isn't entirely up to you. You also mentioned reading the many comments you got to think about your family. Add one to the pile, but I get how difficult it is to give up something you're passionate about. I admire your optimism through all this, especially because although you anticipate being able to fly again, you're also mindful of the possibility that you may have to hang it up. Your prudence gives me confidence that you're likely thinking about what you can do next if you do have to stop flying. I think our kids go to the same elementary school because I've seen you and your wife around, and I'm glad you'll still be around for those school pick-ups and drop-offs, because one day they'll happen for the last time. I hope your recovery goes well, and I hope your future is bright, regardless of what the outcome may be.
It was truly wonderful reading your comment. I hope we can meet up in person. After all, we should all surround ourselves with good people. Please message me on Instagram! instagram.com/anthonykvella
@@AnthonyVella I'm down to meet up some time. I DM'd you on IG last week. I have a couple of vastly different hobbies. One of them is storm chasing during monsoon season, which I've all but given up.
Anthony, I think it was significantly lower than 100 feet. I’m glad you’re home and can function. Hopefully you can work. I’m so glad you escaped the almost inescapable. Don’t forget your wife, it will have been and probably still is horrific for her. Don’t forget the Merlin LSA if you give up PPG.
I have a high risk job and risky hobbies…. If I ever have an accident like you do, I hope I can handle it with as much grace and optimism as you are. At the same time you’re honest about the situation and seem to be processing all the possibilities of what could have happened and what could still happen yet so well. I’m so happy to see all the progress you’re making and how real you’ve been about it!!❤
Wow Anthony, I only found you because of Tucker. Any how man I truly hope that you make a full recovery man. I pray God continues to bless your healing and your family man. Get well and yes I did subscribe. PS your edits and story telling are on point man. 🤙
The first video I watched was your accident and I have to say that was scary. It really takes a special person to share that terrifying moment in your live with everyone. I am soo glad you are ok my friend! Best wishes to you and your family!
Hey brother. I don’t fly a paramotor (airplane , balloon , gliders yes…. But not paramotors.) but I watch Tucker Gott and that’s where I heard your story. Kudos to you for sharing. You’ll never know WHO you helped or saved from a similar fate , but rest assured , you have. Keep up the rehab and keep pumping the positive vibes. It’s gotta be hard sometimes, but it sounds like you have a solid support system. Awesome. And good on you for putting your sweetheart and kids first when it comes to the decisions you’ll have to make moving forward. Thanks again for sharing.
I had a crash landing on my paramotor about 3 years ago. I landed in the water so mine wasn't anywhere close to as severe but I did almost drown due to bad placement of my floats. When I think back on all the things that had to go right for me to make it out of that situation alive it makes me think someone was watching out for me. When you were describing the same feelings you had about your situation it really hit me. Glad you're okay brother, hope you make a full recovery quickly!
@@lobbyrobby I did some regular maintenance on my carb, I was flying a Moster 185 at the time. When I reattached it I went by the torque spec which was super low. Carb detached mid flight. I was about 30 ft above a lake and had no choice but to land in the water.
@@micahpants If you have time, you should release your harness, and jump before the motor hits the water. If you are foot-dragging it's a different story.
I completely shattered my collarbone in a pretty bad motorcycle accident and I felt much the same instability and a feeling that it would never feel normal again. It took the better part of a year but eventually i was able to get back to rock climbing and riding and other things I enjoy doing. Stay strong brother, I'm really hoping the arm does heal up for you soon. The physical therapy is so important so I love to see you have someone there to help you so much ❤
I admire your ability to keep your humor, and ability to share the struggles. Keep it up, and you’ll be in the air again I’m sure - just safer. You rock dude - stay strong!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I know for certain that I will be super methodical about any future flight that I’d have. I learned what the worst case scenario (aside from dying or paralyzed) feels like. Needless to say, it was a powerful lesson.
Thank you, buddy! My goal is to get back up there. I consider myself unbelievably fortunate to receive all the support from you, and others like you. Thank you again!
@@AnthonyVella my cousin, years back, was in a bad motorcycle accident. something in the road caused him to hit the guard rail. it sliced his right leg so badly, it had to be amputated from the knee down. his fiance at the time was super supportive, and when he got all healed up with his new cyborg leg, he wanted to prove to himself that he could still ride, so he jumped back on the horse. soon later, he got married to her, and had 2 kids, and quit riding for family reasons. my point is, flying that thing again is great motivation for your recovery. we all know its what you love to do, and we are rooting for you. cant wait to see you get back on the horse brother!
@AnthonyVella I was told that I would never be able to live independently, drive, or care for myself after complications with Pancreatic Cancer and Brain surgery. I am doing all that and flying again. Stick to it.
Really glad your recovery is going well man, and glad you are back at home with your family. Hang in there regarding the arm, it will take some time but you’d be surprised how the human body can heal from things like this. I hope it does and you get as much pain-free function back as you can. Take care bud. Have always enjoyed your videos.
Dude, it is SO cool to see you so dang animated and putting out a cool assed vid like you always do. Nice to see the Bird man, he's so camera shy but always wise in his words (and apparently quite handy!). It's great to see you doing so well, you will always be my favorite Wookie! 😉🙃🤪 Well wishes, Roger
Hi Anthony, I'm going through the same thing as you and many of these feelings are the same as mine. I'm leaving the hospital in a week after 2 and a half months in the hospital and I can't wait to be home with my daughter. This video made me motivated for what's to come and I hope to have the same feeling of returning to life after this happens. I wish you the best and we are fighting to get back to what we were and maybe one day, if that is the way, we will fly again. I also have instability in my arm and I'm in a lot of pain. It's strange to watch your video and the similarities are unbelievable, both in terms of damage and feelings. I'm glad you're improving. hug
You’ve had a lot of little things that add up to living another life. I don’t believe in coincidence, but I do believe in prayer 🙏 We’ll keep praying for you, you still have a lot to recover from.
I'm sorry this happened to you, but I'm glad to see you've got a beautiful family and friends who support and help you! You've been and are going through some rough stuff so go easy on yourself. I wish you a speedy recovery!
The magnitude of the situation didn’t fully resonate until you said you almost fucked up holding your wife’s hand for your last breath. Sent me immediately bro. God bless fam
Anthony, I have followed you and Tucker since the day I discovered paramotoring January 30, 2024. I have been a bit shaken by your accident. I feel like I know you after listening to every episode of paramotor podcast. You're an amazing person and are a big part of my motivation to fly. I bought a parajet in Tuckers area, still saving for a wing and training. I wish you the best and hope to fly with you both in the future. My prayers are with you brother. My name is Munoz
Came here from Tucker's channel - Glad you're hanging in there. It's a LOT to recover from injuries like that. I really appreciate the AAR and all the supplemental info/footage: it's doubtless going to help others stay safe. Stay strong! And, I hope you'll carry a reserve when (I suspect it's "When") you go back up - even if 99% of the time it's just extra, useless kit. Get well soon!
Great attitude my friend and nice, supportive family. You will heal to a decent level over time. Use nutrition. I do Keto- healed a mTBI and other this way.
I'm so glad to hear you're back home and well on the road to recovery. I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your outlook and authenticity in your videos. You have have a level of genuineness that is hard to come by, and despite your youtube channel being about Paramotoring, which frankly I'd never try myself, I would continue watching any content you create because of the genuineness you have. Your passion for paramotoring is certainly what has drawn a lot of your following, but who you are and your positivity and outlook and charisma and passion is why I think any youtubing venture outside of parasailing would be magnetic. Best wishes
Thank you for documenting your recovery and sharing these videos for us. They have been incredibly enjoyable to watch and I'm happy to see how much you've been able to improve both physically and mentally.
This video hit a spot with me but in a different way.. I suffered a major heart attack at work a few years ago and obviously survived and when I was released from the hospital and came home the feeling was one that I didnt expect.... walking in the house seeing all the stuff especially my stuff as it was at the time I left was shattering knowing that if things had not have turned out everyone would have had to carry on without me..... often my wife and I talk about the event and its funny to say that if I had of passed it would now be 1, 2, 3 years on and seeing the world as it is makes for a whole new outlook on life... no doubt you have all that ahead of you in the years to come.... anyway I have wiped the tears away..... thanks for the share and I wish you and your family all the best a hope you have a speedy recovery..... greetings from Australia... stay safe mate
I saw your video for the first time yesterday. Just gotta say dude, I love you. Your positivity, your attitude. It’s incredible. The sight of you writhing in pain moved me to tears but the joy and upbeat-attitude broke the dam. You are an amazing man. Thank you for these. They are so inspiring.
I am beyond blessed. I’m so fortunate to have been chosen by my wife to be her husband. Really! She is so strong. I thank God everyday that I am still here; I guess He isn’t done with me yet. Haha. Thank you very much for your support. ❤️
@@AnthonyVella same my dude. Grateful. Thanks. 🤙🏼 if you’re ever towards northeast Arizona, please feel free to come stay at my properties airbnbs free of charge. Would love to connect and pick your brain about paramotoring. I’ve reached out to Tucker too many times and have lost faith in that he will ever respond to anything I’ve asked. 🤷🏻♂️ oh well.
Btw. Maybe we can collaborate on fabrication design ideas for a next best paramotoring cage, or trike. I used to build race trucks in Baja for Red Bull team and others but now just want to do my own projects. That industry is way too competitive to the point of arrogance. I’m not about that. Ha.!
"My right arm really struggles to get straight." 😂 Too good.
1 like? lemme fix that
👋
@tu
And then it was in the closet. Something’s up.
dude I had no clue you were in the video until he said your name, you look WAAAY different from when I last watched 😂
He says in another video that he's gonna use that piece of elbow bone to make a necklace so I don't think they reattached
@user-fv5yo5fi5c I never said what they were, yet you say they don't work. That's really silly.
@user-fv5yo5fi5c Ah, you have no comprehension skills. Got it.
no one asked :)
Here I am 2 years later at 100%
Hang in there dude 🙏
Exactly! It's very selfish to do this to your spouse.
@MichaelPflaumer-hy7sk why are you acting like paragliding or never going outside are the only two options lmao
Don’t be a douche…that’s not what they’re saying
Amen
Having a fully funcional hand is huge. Don't forsake it for the sake of your elbow.
Glad the people helped you and your wife is a precious gem!
Man, you've got some good friends in your life. Glad you're home now!
Thank you, Sam! You’re absolutely right. Speaking of friends, one of my really good friends has the same last name as you. I think (I could be wrong), that he and his family are from Salt Lake City.
Well you certainly haven't lost your energy. You have a really beautiful family, and I love the way they keep your spirits up. Stay positive my friend
Hang in there. Get well soon. Thanks for the update. Your attitude is inspiring.
@ozofer5285, wishing you the very best of healing man.
Thank goodness you are ok I hope your arm gets better
I really appreciate it. My arm has made some progress, but it still has a ways to go. Thank you again for the support. 🙏
Thank you very much for the prayers. God is great. As a friend put it to me after surviving the crash, “God is not done with you yet!”
Wishing you well, life is precious, you are blessed
Paramotoring can be very very safe. Driving the car to do whatever hobby is more dangerous than flying paramotor unless you push it
I see a lot of people commenting without understanding some important aspects of the sport.
Taps is literally the most emotional sound in person when just losing one so I can’t imagine how it feels with losing multiple friends.
Amen to that. Someone told me shortly after the crash that, “God’s not done with you yet!”
Good luck with your re-hab AV❤. My only tip is work hard, don’t rush it. Remember, “ghost pain” is a real consideration
Think positive about healing the brain is amazing, you'll be good to go before you know it! Best of luck!
Thanks so much for the suggestion! I think I’ll try out some meditation and focus on being optimistic about my prognosis. I appreciate the support. 🙏🏻
Good luck with the recovery. Saw your accident in a "short" now im 2 videos into your recovery. Keep it up brother
Amen to that! I really have been blessed in many ways. 🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing these videos and for your transparency. Praying for a full recovery.
You’re welcome. And thank you for praying. I have been feeling better and better every day.
As a PT student I believe I would learn so much and that would be such a helpful videos for not just me but other students as well.
god bless you and your family get better man
Thank you friend. 🙏🏻
Such a postive attitude after your ordeal happy healing and blue skies..rock on Anthony...👍👌 Shout out from AZ..
Inspirational, it feels like just the other day you fell out of the sky and you look so much better. Keep it up, we're rooting for you!
That’s awesome man. Keep it up! I know your passion is paramotoring and that’s awesome. But what’s important is your family. You’re around for them. That’s worth giving up everything else.
Very true - It isn't the thought of dying itself that is the scariest part, but the imagination of the pain that your loved ones would feel.
Please don’t let the arm go. Keep it and fight through it. Stay positive we are all here for you. Anything I can do to help I definitely will.
You are the perfect example of the “Attitude of Gratitude” !!
I’m happy to see you will fly and “Dad” again !
This is how hero’s act!! ❤
God be with you brother!!!, speedy recovery!!!! hope to see you in the air soon!!!!
Thank you, buddy. I appreciate it, and you best believe that I hope to get airborne soon, as well!
Keep up the hard work and your awesome positive attitude. You will be back to your old self in no time.
You're a legend bro, best of luck to you and your family
What an amazing group of doctors. A literal miracle!
Impressive recovery, you are well surrounded by healthcare people.
Anthony. Great video. Thank you for sharing all of this with us. Please, before you make any decision on removing the arm, wait one year. I have had a couple joints replaced and a back surgery. The pain remains for at least a year. Please give it a chance to heal.
I wish you a full recovery. Hope for the best!
God, Family and loving friends keeping your spirits high! Love it!!!Wishing you a speedy recovery, You got this 💪🏼
I broke both my elbows in a warehouse accident many many moons ago, at least you have a hand to wipe!.
Anthony, I'm not sure where you are drawing that strength from...BUT you are one incredible individual! May the force be with you!
May I ask why you crashed?
@@lobbyrobby I did some regular maintenance on my carb, I was flying a Moster 185 at the time. When I reattached it I went by the torque spec which was super low. Carb detached mid flight. I was about 30 ft above a lake and had no choice but to land in the water.
@@micahpants damn, glad you're ok man.
The physical therapy is so important so I love to see you have someone there to help you so much ❤
You're a warrior! Thank god for your awesome supportive environment. I wish you all the best with the rest of your recovery!
Thank you very much. 🙏🏻
Hope all goes well with recovery
Thank you! So far, the recovery is better than I could have expected.
Needless to say, it was a powerful lesson.
heal up well anthony! we're all rooting for your successful and speedy recovery, and we cant wait to see you back in the skies dude!
Glad you are still with us Anthony.
Thank you Mark! I appreciate it. 🙏🏻❤️
Well wishes, Roger
Get well soon love and best wishes to you and your family. From Chris in leeds uk
Came for paramotoring, stayed for the absolute positive vibes this guy radiates. Even through video you make the room glow. Keep on trucking
It was great to read this comment. Thank you for the smile! More videos coming soon. =) Take care!
I subscribed to your channel after watching your accident to watch your journey! I wish you the best of luck and will pray for a speedy recovery!!!
I don’t believe in coincidence, but I do believe in prayer 🙏
We’ll keep praying for you, you still have a lot to recover from.
Sending love from India.
Get well soon.
I appreciate you bro. My wife is everything to me. Flying and YT aint shit compared to my family. God bless you as well my dude. 🙏
Thank God for your safety and waiting for your return to fly again
Thank you, Mohammed. ❤️
Best wishes
I'm so glad you're finally home. Best wishes to you and your family as you continue your recovery.
😢 dude theres nothing more stressfull than crashing and thinking youll die , such an horrible feeling
Thank you for documenting your recovery and sharing these videos for us. They have been incredibly enjoyable to watch and I'm happy to see how much you've been able to improve both physically and mentally.
You're very welcome. 😊 I am very happy with how well I have been recovering. More updates to come! Thank you for watching. 🙏
Dang my brother. I’m so grateful your family still gets to enjoy your presence man. Praise God.! 🙌🏽 Your video got me tearing up. 🥹🙏🏼🤙🏼
I am beyond blessed. I’m so fortunate to have been chosen by my wife to be her husband. Really! She is so strong. I thank God everyday that I am still here; I guess He isn’t done with me yet. Haha. Thank you very much for your support. ❤️
@@AnthonyVella Amen my dude. Hopefully by the time I get taught how to fly, you’ll be ready to someday join in the sky.! 🙌🏽👌🏼 blessings brother
Thank you, brother. I'm glad we linked up.
Ha.!
Good luck with rehab Anthony, all good vibes sent your way!
