Heyo! I finished editing this video at 5am this morning, and I didn't realize that the master volume track was set to -11dB. Meaning, the video is far quieter than normal. Since the video has already been released, I don't see this as enough of a reason to re-render and re-upload it, but if you noticed the video was a bit quiet, that's why. My bad!

i remember back in beta 1.4-1.7, hovering on a Smooth Double-Stone Slab (an item only available using /give) in your inventory would show that it had no name (just a single space) and would crash your game on the spot

@@krispyking2450They put a bunch of books with unicode characters in a chest. When they relogged, the chunk was reset.
IDK about you, but I find the fact that two llamas with strength value 0 breeding will crash the game is very interesting
the llamas have 0 strength they cant do anything so they can't breed

these guidelines have gotten very strict
The F3+C trick works everywhere in the game tho it won't write the countdown where no chat is available just crashes after the time is up. Even in the Main Menu and during new world creation. In that case it will finish the world first and then crashes. The world will be playable but it will have a grey default thumbnail until you load in and save it again.
If you do it in the main menu but you interrupt it (even multiple times in a row), it queues up the chat that will all be displayed in the chat upon entering any singleplayer or multiplayer world.
Shift+F2 on older versions would have been a very interesting one to include. I only realized today when searching for it that it doesn't "crash the game", but it was an intended feature to take large screenshots. However, doing so would effectively crash the game on most computers, or at least that's what most people reported.
Wasn't technically a glitch, but it's an interesting bit of trivia that generally crashed the game, nonetheless.
It didn’t crash my game, my screen just had a spaz (the way it takes a screenshot is moving the camera and stitching it together)

I love programming. It’s interesting to see how programs crash. Troubleshooting that is (in my opinion) the most fun and irritating part.
Depending on the complexity of the game, there are endless ways and you simply won't fix everything. The things to look out for is memory leaks, accessing invalid memory and smelly code.

haha, I feel you, everytime I see a bug I start imagining what may be causing it. Like you have said, debugging is the most fun yet frustrating part.
Crashes from Minecraft itself are really rare for me. It's the 136 installed mods I need to watch out for
I like how almost every one of these has a plausible reason for the crash. Like with slimes snd magma cubes in spawners probably crashes because the game doesn’t know what size to render it as. I really like these sorts of things that, if you know your Minecraft, it’ll make sense
what about anvils falling on lit redstone? or not being able to place item frames?
@@SquooshyShark1000 the item frames one is probably just a coding fucky. But! The anvil falling on lit Redstone specifically is probably a check they forgot to make. When landing on top of something, an anvil either destroys it and takes it's place or lands on top of it. I can assume there is a check to tell which block it's landing on, and whether or not it'll break when landed on. They probably had normal redstone break, but forgot to put in the check for lit redstone!
There also could be a similar reason as to why the scaffolding + shulker box doesnt work. Since a shulker is both an entity and a block, and also has a hitbock that can move up and down, it probably freaks out the scaffolding as it tries to figure out exactly what its falling on and what it's supposed to do when it hits it!
why did placing a shulker at 0 0 0 crash tho? I cant find any plausible reason

in there supernatural things happen there that shouldn't happen
your character is stuck there forever
cheats are off for some reason even if you turned it on earlier
your respawn was set to where you are currently standing
everything is changed as if a new mod is just set up in your computer.

I remember reporting a crash bug years ago, which was caused by generating a superflat world, with the world consisting of a single layer of fire.
I would love to see a superflat world with just fire 🔥

0:48 and there are some bugs, like MC-91132, for example that NEED to be addressed and are fixable by Mojang yet the just refuse to get to it. It's been almost 6 years and hundreds of thousands of people still cant use the in game chat in their native language.

I somehow miraculously used to own Minecraft on my crappy Lenovo laptop even though it had 2GB OF RAM AND 1 OF THE SYSTME REQUIREMENTS MET (I guess it didn't run system check it was so freaking old) and if my render distance got above 5 CHUNKS, it would just straight up crash my laptop. Even now, writing this on my laptop, Chrome has LEGIT CRASHED 20 TIMES. No laptop is worse than this stupid Lenovo crap!

I remember when one could create an area of blocks in an unstable state (They would break if updated.). If the area was to be updated by means not directly by the player, it would immediately result in a crash.

Context: The game crashes if the code of the game doesn't know what to do when the player has committed a certain action.
Better do CTRL+F3+C then it will not only crash your minecraft but prevent it from startuing up at all until you restart java or your computer

Little personal anecdote from a modded 1.12.2 server a few days ago. I managed to chunk ban myself by accident. The way it was done was I copy and pasted a lot of torches using worldedit and that caused smoke particles to crash the game. I coined it torchbanning
