OUR STORY SO FAR:
We are Cory & Kristen Williams and in August 2014 we made the long drive from Southern California to Alaska to move into our new home in Eagle River. Here we’ve had the chance to explore Alaska, experience lots of wild events, meet lots of great people and endure the extreme temperatures that the north is known for. On December 20th, 2014 we got engaged after our Polar Plunge under the Northern Lights then later married by our favorite lake on May 23rd, 2015. Then on June 23rd, 2016 we had our first child. A baby girl named Chell.

WHAT DOES "DudeLikeHELLA" MEAN?:
"Dude" is me, Cory. I am the dude. "Like" is a joining word which is used to express similarities and "HELLA" is slang for "a lot" or in my case, "the greatest amount". So together, "DudeLikeHELLA" means "The best me I can be".

As someone who watched Cory during his first marriage and watched this channel be created, all I can say is I have never seen him as happy as he currently is. Adventures, family style, it doesn't matter to me. He is so so happy and his family is so so beautiful. He could stare at a wall, smiling, for 11 minutes and I would watch every second because my heart fills with joy to see him so happy and content with his life. Cory, you never fail to make me smile, and you NEVER fail to make me laugh. Thank you so much for the time and energy you spend sharing your life with us. It feels so crazy to hear you thank the viewers for watching, because it's honestly my favorite part of the day!

I am pretty new to your vlog, and I have to say I love it. You are so easy going and fun. FYI, I am 45 and I have a 5 Yr old and a 8 Yr old. It isn't about a number like you said it's about how young you feel and also how much love you have for your children. I am pretty sure I would have sucked as a young parent anyway. This way I got to watch all my friends and see the best parenting strategies.

I've been watching intermittently for years, too, and I've never watched as regularly as I do now. Becoming a parent is just another kind of crazy adventure and it's so great to watch Cory and Kristin find their way. It makes me and my fiancé excited for when we start that adventure ourselves.

You're a dude with many hats (literally). One last thing - your adventures don't have to be grand mountain climbing feats. You have the ability to turn anything into an adventure! I had my first child at 30. I think one concern of having children later is that you may never have the opportunity to see your grandchildren. Especially if your children wait until later to have children.
My parents were both 36-37 when they had me, and neither of them regret it

You've gone through a LOT over the years and frankly, I think you have every right to vlog what you want and if it's all about your daughter, that's great!! i think since Chell has been born ive seen one big adventure from you guys. Anything you do is an adventure. Even sitting in a line at Krispy Kreme like we saw. The vlogs never get dull or boring. I came to this channel when you were moving to alaska stayed with you through it all and even now with chell i will watch your videos even if its not a crazy outdoor adventure but because its you and your life and its beautiful. People shouldn't be complaining that they miss the "old vlogs" and "sick of the baby vlogs". I think it's great that you aren't just stopping altogether with your vlogs. I love what I see and how much I am learning about parenthood. From someone who probably won't have kids any time soon, it's interesting to see what you face every day raising Chell. Keep at what you're doing!
I love the family/baby vlogs...for 1 it's your life and for 2 I miss when my kids were babies(they are 4 and almost 9)...you have to enjoy the time when they are little because they do grow up so fast.

Frankly you're going through something I want to go through in the next couple of years so it's super awesome to see you and Kirsten's journey being first time parents because that's who I want to be soon. Really Corey, I have been following you since way back. I think I was in fourth grade when I first subscribed to you, and I would always sing Mean Kitty to my friends. It's now been a year after my graduating from high school and I STILL love and watch all your videos. It doesn't matter to me if you are having adventures or just hanging with your lovely wife or precious baby. I love every single moment because you bring such life into what you do. You are so positive, and it makes any and everything you do, even if its simple, amazing. Keep doing what you are doing because you are absolutely amazing at it!

Cory, Chell is getting so big and spending time with your family is fine by me. I'm glad you share your time with us. I enjoy watching your videos and seeing Chell. She's such a little cutie. I remember when our son was born and one of the greatest moments we had was when our son was 2 or 3 years old. He was walking pretty good and his mom and I decided to go for a hike with him. He had a little backpack and I put a diaper, his sippy cup and a couple of other small items in it. We put it on him, gave him his own little hiking stick and he hiked along with us like a little trooper. It was a great day hiking with my little man. So what you're doing right now with Chell is great and will only get better as time goes on and we enjoy the time you share those experiences with us. Thanks Again for sharing, Dude. 👍👍👍

Please, please, please, just be you! I am newer to your channel and it is because of these vlogs that I have gone back and watched the past. This life journey you are on is just so interesting. "And the best part is we're sharing it with you!"
Cory, this is a quick advice from someone living far north. Babies and cold weather, absolutely no problem. Where I live it is quite common to leave our babies out for a while to nap in winter climate, and it is actually considered healthy and strengthening to do so on a regular basis. As my mother said to me: "You never slept as good when I left you outside for a while", and a little snow is no problem either.
Here is what my mother would do with me as a baby:
1, dress me in normal clothing, then she put me in a warm winter baby suit for outdoor wear. She'd put a hat on, small gloves and left enough room for my mouth and nose to be free, not much else is needed.
2, she had this lovely sheep skin sack she could put me in that was really warm. Then she put my in my carrier (?), which was also made to be wind proof (because that gets really annoying when you try to sleep).
3, if it was snowing she'd cover so that the snow wouldn't bury me, but other that that she'd leave me out for an hour or so. I slept like a log!
Note: now, I know by culture our worlds are quite different because as we live pretty much no babies are kidnapped due to this, and I've seen examples of mothers going for coffee while their babies are left outside. However, common sense tends to judge how you do this, as many cafés are close to small almost empty streets and mostly we leave our kids on balconies or front porches. My mother left me on the porch and very rarely left me completely out of sight, after all I was her baby.
As she grows up, I think it will be a good stimulant for her to have such an active life outdoors with you. I was unfortunately not able to go on many adventures, as my brother was born with a decease that later had him bound to a wheelchair, but I spent enough time to absolutely love nature and the outdoors. (just not skiing, because I suck at it).
So, enjoy winter times when they come. Teach Chell to eventually make loads of snowangels and enjoy seeing the front of your houses covered with snowmen (because that is what happens when kids learn to play with snow)...
Also, if Chell ever starts getting into snowfights as she grows up, here is a good revenge for snowballs on the jacket. One handful of snow and stick it under the shirt of her attackers, it tends to make everything more fun. ;)

I'm a relatively recent viewer and I really enjoy your family vlogs. Maybe that's because I'm on the other end of the parenting spectrum with three young adult children. They are growing up, but I still remember when they were little (and I had some energy!).
Love watching you guys, my daughter Autumn is only one month older than Chell so it's fun to follow you guys through out parenthood like I am. Keep up the amazing vlogs!!

Cory, thank you for the kind things you said about us, your fans (and busybodies!). I watch several other channels, but the fans aren't nearly as interesting, or kind as your subs. Your subs are also funny, I enjoy reading most of the comments, and love corresponding with a large number of them. I found you because of the cats about six months ago and then found one episode of DLH that blew me away. I was going thru a low time and your positivity and kind craziness just lifted me from my sad state. I did a binge watch of all the DLH episodes and tried to view them in order. You are an amazing videographer, story teller, and human being. I'm glad you found Kristen and had the good sense to marry her! Chell is a miracle and joy to watch. Obsess over your family as long as you need to, it is the right thing to do and maybe you will help some young people understand the responsibilities and joys of becoming a parent. I'll be honest Cory, the thing I miss the most was waking up during a summer and seeing your video about going to the gym and improving yourself day after day. I've wanted to re-watch those videos (don't get me wrong I understand!) and I guess that was kind of an adventure to me. However I will admit there's more to life than adventure as counter intuitive as it sounds. I see adventure as more a physical concept and less so metaphysical. Both of your channels have been a part of both physical and mental improvement of my life and have to say thank you where a thank you is due. Keep it hella.

Please, update us about Sparta. It appears he has a infection. His fur looks bad and his eyes are also dull. I am worried about him as I have worked with cats all my life. I know first hand cats can hide illness very well.
You're right, Sparta does not look good, it's clear he's very sick. I am not a cat person at all, but he's so bad off I'm very concerned too. It seems serious. I wonder if the vet visit has waited too long. That furball does not feel good! 😞
Older cats can get dehydrated quickly, which leads to appetite loss and the dullness you see. He probably needs subcutaneous fluids. It's amazing how older kitties will blossom once they are rehydrated. I learned how to do it myself at home.
Kristen and Cory are those two people who realized that the best way to love someone is to accept him/her exactly as he/she is, no potential changes, no "he'll grow out of it", no "if he loves me he'll change this or that"!
