The ship he as on would have been destroyed anyway (it was under fire by both the Nemesis and the Ark) so it doesn't make sense as to why they'd show him die where literally none of the characters even knew he was there. He sent out a "final signal" but as of the season finale we don't know if it even made it out of the ship. I have confidence he'll return. ;)

Although I think the reason they brought him aboard the Quintesson’s ship was to write him out of the show but not in a way where he goes out just from the fire from a ship. It gives him a sort of heroic death which I like. I like Cog but I think the chances of him surviving: getting stabbed, blowing up, and crash landing on earth are rather low. But, anything is possible! Guess we’ll just have to find out when the third season comes out!

In Beast Wars, Dinobot ends up getting both disks and realizes there to powerful in either hands because the disks shows the future which means history can changed . Megaton discovers this fact and trys to kill the first apes (humans) before they evolve and help awaken the Autobots in the 80's.

I'm not so sure about that. and the disk has to have gotten to megatron somehow before he became galvatron (In beast wars the 'recording' shown to ravage is megatron, not galvatron). somehow he will gain it if this doesnt suggest it hasnt already been given to him.
Orion Pax was destroyed by Megatron. Optimus was built from Orion so the Matrix really had no change in Prime overall other the the official leadership roll. I believe they are still the same personality. Unlike Transformers Prime, Optimus totally forgets who he was after the Matrix wasn't with him and became a lost Orion. Hated it! Rodimus Prime was still however Hotrod but somehow changed his overall shape strength and aged him with wisdom. Hated that also, but what the hell it was a kids Cartoon to sell toys. Personally they shouldn't have brought in the Matrix or killed off Optimus in the original movie. That's my take but what was done was done, now we have to deal with this Matrix BS. Another thing that drove me absolutely nuts was the fact Ultra Mangnus could explode and be reassembled but Optimus injuries had been fatal. Like I said holes everywhere no one lore is correct unfortunately.

See I took Galvatron setting up that this will be a new timeline hence the arc crashing when the Maximals are already on earth instead of before they were like it originally happened. Feels like the timeline is different because of Galvatrons intervention and eventual recall by unicorn
Am I the only one who never saw, like, anything in most of the characters? None of them got any time to be themselves. It’s like everyone’s had their personality chips removed and replaced with “WAR WAR FATE OF UNIVERSE CYBERTRON WAR TOTALLY IMPORTANT DIALOGUE”.
Honestly, this series feels like a play. The heavy dialogue, multiple themes, and the development in Megatron. It’s beautiful. It also is a brilliant merger of stories and ideas from G1, Aligned, Marvel Comics, IDW Comics, Dreamwave Comics, and even some of Beast Wars are coming in.
I really enjoyed seeing Starscream’s deceptive traits come into play more this chapter. Love how Megatron still always keeps him around though - better to have him as an “ally” than as an enemy!
Just discovered this and binged the two seasons. This has quickly risen to be one of my favourite pieces of transformers media ever! Love the story, the dialogue, and the depth to the characters, it’s really cool to see the more “human” sides of Megatron and Optimus Prime

I honestly enjoy the idea that the Matrix of Leadership is the epitome of "absolute power corrupts absolutely" as The longer prime holds it he slowly gets corrupted by it more and more. Kind of a Lord of the Rings and Star Wars type deal.
There's a point in the Beast Wars timeline where that Megatron tried to eliminate OP and company. It's already been communicated that they (Prime Megatron) need each other to exist. Beast Wars Megatron will be the big baddie...Dinobot will help turn the tide once he betrays him.
I grew up on Beast Wars. By far my favourite version of the transformers. I'm not a huge transformers fan, I thought the first show on Netflix was just a narrated version of a Japanese show. Show is done so well. I can not wait for Kingdom. I'm so excited
I think the Golden Disk info was transmitted to both Decepticon and Autobot starships - remember that they'd received so much info that the computers locked and nothing worked while they tried to process it all!

I liked the trilogy quite a lot. It brought out new parts of everyone's character and brought back old concepts that people enjoyed, like Elita's romance with Optimus, Jetfire defecting to the Autobots, Sky Lynx's ego etc......
I can't believe how unoptimus Prime is portrayed. I know what they are trying to go for. A more flawed leader, but between his outburst of crazy, morality that seems to spin on a dime, lack of leadership and reasoning, and self flagellation that doesn't even align to his already screwed up morality... They've just messed up the character.
From what I understood i just assumed that the matrix of leadership is what gives Orion the name “optimus prime” without it, he is back to being even weaker than megatron
This show is too good to end with the next season. There is so much this series still can explore. We could see more of this Team prime members ( other than optimus and bee) to flash out their personality.
I’m interested to see what happens in the Beast Wars phase. I was born in the 70s, grew up watching G1, The Movie, and G2 Transformers in the 80s, and I was already an adult (in the Army) and getting away from cartoons in the 90s. I’m not as familiar with the Beast Wars story, and it never appealed to me, so I’d like to give it chance in this series.
I really liked Earthrise but I feel that they missed some oportunities...I mean why did they made toys of Cliffjumper, Hoist, Grapple and few others if they never appeared in the first place? That disappointed me. Hope they fix that up in the Kingdom arc.

I feel Like Earthrise is the best Transformers has been done in a TV series since Transformers Prime. I was happy to see characters I'm not familiar with or at least not overly familiar with such as Scorponok, Double Dealer, Galvatron, Sky Lynx and especially Quintesson. I also like how there are deaths and casualties on both sides, I'd say this is probably the darkest Transformers cartoon I have seen as even Transformers Prime usually avoided killing off autobots. My main problem with this War for Cybertron trilogy is that its way too short, too bad we can't have a 22 or 26 episode season order.
For me, this has been the best transformers series since the actual beast wars series (not the beast transformers season though) definitely can wait for the 3rd part. But May is so damn far lol.

Yes. In G1 Orion was Optimus before Alpha Trion rebuilt him to fight Megatron and Ariel was Elita btw. This Matrix was only introduced in the 1986 movie and wasn't an element in the G1 show before. So I guess in this reboot Orion received the name Optimus Prime when Trion awarded him the Matrix.
I like the " TF siege and TF earthrise" because they are some decent season in the chapter story line but I cannot wait to see the "transformers war for cybertron kingdom up coming soon".
I’m a bit tired of Prime being whipped by Megatron in the current media. Prime was always the guy that came in to save the day and over coming the odds. In later years he’s often portrayed as weaker than his enemies. These cartoons lack personality and heart, and I found myself disappointed. Between the first seasons dialogue and Sky Lynx conversation, Optimus hasn't quite stepped into the role as hero yet, he doubts himself and carries guilt for everything that's happened. He'll likely become the bot we know and love in Kingdom.
The series lost me a bit outright when it didn't use the existing Cybertonian designs from War for Cybertron. It doesn't make sense that they already resemble their future Earth forms. Maybe Activision owns those designs? I'd still think they are proprietary to the franchise.

What's fantastic is how much is changing. This _isnt_ a retelling of the original shows. This is a whole new timeline, which is why we see Primes death and Galvatron trying to shake the timeline further
I'm pretty sure the gold disc that Galvatron "gives" to Megatron is symbolic, as it appears to vanish after he throws it, before he's sucked back into his timeline.
I literally got to episode 3 and said out loud, “when are we getting the Dinobots and Insecticons?” The latter did show up if you know your G1 transformers and with the former being my favourite im sooo happy the teaser at the end was there, you know straight away what they’re teasing but then the eye is already robotic so we will have to see 🤷🏽♂️🤓
There is definitely two disks in the past. That would tie directly into Beast Wars. Remember when Dinobot had both of them? He held them and gave a "To be or not two be" speech and said one disk holds what will be and the other holds what could be. I'm wondering if this is an alternate universe or if it may actually be the Beast Wars universe.

That apparent death left shattered and speechless for the rest of the day. SPOILER BELOW I’m talking about the apparent death of Elita One and the Autobots that remained on Cybertron. We might never see them again and even worse, we might never see Elita One and Optimus Prime together... It is something that I always wanted to see since her only Episode on Transformers G1. And now, hopes for that happening are very low. There is a possibility but I’m not sure.
I just finished watching season 2 last night and I find myself really confused about this alternate timeline. Like for example what event caused the alternate timeline to happen? With Star Trek, when JJ Abrams created that alternate timeline, the split happens with Spock going back in time. With this so far there no clear event in my mind. Wouldn't the Autobots in the originally timeline still come across that space bridge and all the events leading them getting to Earth still happened? The other problem I see is them interacting with Maximals and Predacons. Which in my mind creates a huge paradox. I mean to the Maximals and Predacons the Autobots and Decepticons are ancient history. In the timeline they come from the Autobots saved Cybertron centuries ago. So they're going to help the Autobots save the planet that was already saved. In Beast Wars, yes they did find The Ark and Nemesis. But, they effectively didn't alter the timeline because they never directly interacted with any of the Autobots or Decepticons. Despite my confusion, I still look forward to the next season. In a lot of ways it will be like having a new season of Beast Wars. I hope they bring back as many members of the Beast Wars voice acting cast as possible.

I liked the show overall, however When the actor who plays Optimus does his shouty voice it just doesnt sound right to me, he does a passable Cullen when he speaks but loses it when he shouts. I also have the same issue as last time and that it everything is slightly too slow, and I mean the animation and speech rather than the pacing. They STILL haven't fixed soundwaves voices which is a shame ( i have done a few redubs where I correct Shockwave and Soundwaves voice to sound like G1) which woukd be cool if you could check them out.
Loving it now it seems like the predacons and maxamuls will revive their older selves and each use a golden disk to try and win the war but I think it will be a long fight and the all spark will keep moving from world to world and evil prime was cool can’t wait for kingdom to start and I hope it’s 12’epsiodes
I guess Dinobot will be the one who'll create the Dinobots, Terrorcons and Predacons? Nemesis Prime will be seen in the next season? Revelation of the Titans? Arise of Rodimus Prime and the Wreckers? This made my head hurt so much.
Not sure why they are only doing this as series of 5 shows, may as well make it a freaking movie. Honestly what happened to a transformers season or pretty much most cartoon animated series being 12, 20, 36 episodes long when 20 to 30 min long each. These five episodes could had easily just been a 2 hr 20 min movie when u take out all the title opening part, credits, etc out of each episode. Heck really is just a 2 hour movie.. otherwise good show. Def give em credit for trying to tie in so many different story lines from so many different shows, movies, cartoons and comics.

Another thing that drove me absolutely nuts was the fact Ultra Mangnus could explode and be reassembled but Optimus injuries had been fatal. See I took Galvatron setting up that this will be a new timeline hence the arc crashing when the Maximals are already on earth instead of before they were like it originally happened. Feels like the timeline is different because of Galvatrons intervention and eventual recall by unicorn
Am I the only one who never saw, like, anything in most of the characters? None of them got any time to be themselves. It’s like everyone’s had their personality chips removed and replaced with “WAR WAR FATE OF UNIVERSE CYBERTRON WAR TOTALLY IMPORTANT DIALOGUE”.
Honestly, this series feels like a play. The heavy dialogue, multiple themes, and the development in Megatron. It’s beautiful. It also is a brilliant merger of stories and ideas from G1, Aligned, Marvel Comics, IDW Comics, Dreamwave Comics, and even some of Beast Wars are coming in.
I really enjoyed seeing Starscream’s deceptive traits come into play more this chapter. Love how Megatron still always keeps him around though - better to have him as an “ally” than as an enemy!

Just discovered this and binged the two seasons. This has quickly risen to be one of my favourite pieces of transformers media ever! Love the story, the dialogue, and the depth to the characters, it’s really cool to see the more “human” sides of Megatron and Optimus Prime

One cool thing is that one of the mercenaries is Bug Bite, which is a name of a Go-Bot who upon Hasbro getting the rights to used a white and black BumbleBee recolor.
I honestly enjoy the idea that the Matrix of Leadership is the epitome of "absolute power corrupts absolutely" as The longer prime holds it he slowly gets corrupted by it more and more. Kind of a Lord of the Rings and Star Wars type deal.
There's a point in the Beast Wars timeline where that Megatron tried to eliminate OP and company. It's already been communicated that they (Prime Megatron) need each other to exist. Beast Wars Megatron will be the big baddie...Dinobot will help turn the tide once he betrays him.

I grew up on Beast Wars. By far my favourite version of the transformers.
I'm not a huge transformers fan, I thought the first show on Netflix was just a narrated version of a Japanese show.

I think the Golden Disk info was transmitted to both Decepticon and Autobot starships - remember that they'd received so much info that the computers locked and nothing worked while they tried to process it all!

I liked the trilogy quite a lot. It brought out new parts of everyone's character and brought back old concepts that people enjoyed, like Elita's romance with Optimus, Jetfire defecting to the Autobots, Sky Lynx's ego etc......
I can't believe how unoptimus Prime is portrayed. I know what they are trying to go for. A more flawed leader, but between his outburst of crazy, morality that seems to spin on a dime, lack of leadership and reasoning, and self flagellation that doesn't even align to his already screwed up morality...

I’m interested to see what happens in the Beast Wars phase. I was born in the 70s, grew up watching G1, The Movie, and G2 Transformers in the 80s, and I was already an adult (in the Army) and getting away from cartoons in the 90s. I’m not as familiar with the Beast Wars story, and it never appealed to me, so I’d like to give it chance in this series.

I really liked Earthrise but I feel that they missed some oportunities...I mean why did they made toys of Cliffjumper, Hoist, Grapple and few others if they never appeared in the first place? That disappointed me. Hope they fix that up in the Kingdom arc.

After I watch this season I started watching beast wars it ties in really good
I feel Like Earthrise is the best Transformers has been done in a TV series since Transformers Prime.
I was happy to see characters I'm not familiar with or at least not overly familiar with such as Scorponok, Double Dealer, Galvatron, Sky Lynx and especially Quintesson.
I also like how there are deaths and casualties on both sides, I'd say this is probably the darkest Transformers cartoon I have seen as even Transformers Prime usually avoided killing off autobots.
My main problem with this War for Cybertron trilogy is that its way too short, too bad we can't have a 22 or 26 episode season order.
For me, this has been the best transformers series since the actual beast wars series (not the beast transformers season though) definitely can wait for the 3rd part. But May is so damn far lol.

Yes. In G1 Orion was Optimus before Alpha Trion rebuilt him to fight Megatron and Ariel was Elita btw. This Matrix was only introduced in the 1986 movie and wasn't an element in the G1 show before. So I guess in this reboot Orion received the name Optimus Prime when Trion awarded him the Matrix.

I’m a bit tired of Prime being whipped by Megatron in the current media. Prime was always the guy that came in to save the day and over coming the odds. In later years he’s often portrayed as weaker than his enemies. These cartoons lack personality and heart, and I found myself disappointed.

Between the first seasons dialogue and Sky Lynx conversation, Optimus hasn't quite stepped into the role as hero yet, he doubts himself and carries guilt for everything that's happened. He'll likely become the bot we know and love in Kingdom.

The series lost me a bit outright when it didn't use the existing Cybertonian designs from War for Cybertron. It doesn't make sense that they already resemble their future Earth forms. Maybe Activision owns those designs? I'd still think they are proprietary to the franchise.
The entire show is G1 inspired, they always looked similar there.

What's fantastic is how much is changing. This _isnt_ a retelling of the original shows. This is a whole new timeline, which is why we see Primes death and Galvatron trying to shake the timeline further

I'm pretty sure the gold disc that Galvatron "gives" to Megatron is symbolic, as it appears to vanish after he throws it, before he's sucked back into his timeline.
I literally got to episode 3 and said out loud, “when are we getting the Dinobots and Insecticons?” The latter did show up if you know your G1 transformers and with the former being my favourite im sooo happy the teaser at the end was there, you know straight away what they’re teasing but then the eye is already robotic so we will have to see 🤷🏽♂️🤓
There is definitely two disks in the past. That would tie directly into Beast Wars. Remember when Dinobot had both of them? He held them and gave a "To be or not two be" speech and said one disk holds what will be and the other holds what could be. I'm wondering if this is an alternate universe or if it may actually be the Beast Wars universe.

I’m talking about the apparent death of Elita One and the Autobots that remained on Cybertron. We might never see them again and even worse, we might never see Elita One and Optimus Prime together... It is something that I always wanted to see since her only Episode on Transformers G1. And now, hopes for that happening are very low. There is a possibility but I’m not sure.

I just finished watching season 2 last night and I find myself really confused about this alternate timeline. Like for example what event caused the alternate timeline to happen? With Star Trek, when JJ Abrams created that alternate timeline, the split happens with Spock going back in time. With this so far there no clear event in my mind. Wouldn't the Autobots in the originally timeline still come across that space bridge and all the events leading them getting to Earth still happened? The other problem I see is them interacting with Maximals and Predacons. Which in my mind creates a huge paradox. I mean to the Maximals and Predacons the Autobots and Decepticons are ancient history. In the timeline they come from the Autobots saved Cybertron centuries ago. So they're going to help the Autobots save the planet that was already saved. In Beast Wars, yes they did find The Ark and Nemesis. But, they effectively didn't alter the timeline because they never directly interacted with any of the Autobots or Decepticons.
Despite my confusion, I still look forward to the next season. In a lot of ways it will be like having a new season of Beast Wars. I hope they bring back as many members of the Beast Wars voice acting cast as possible.

The Netflix series is basically telling the story of the original series.
Original series timeline summary:
War on Cybertron. Autobots and Decipticons travel to pre-historic Earth. Maximals and Predacons on prehistoric Earth engage with Autobots and Decepticons in the Ark. Billions of years later the Transformers in the Ark come online and the original 85' continuity continues.
The clue in Earthrise that says its a retelling of the G1 series?
The Golden Disc given from a Timeless Galvatron to Megatron.
In Beast Wars, the Predacons get a message from Megatron from the past saying the Decepticons have failed. (Now we learn that he got the disc from Timeless-Galvatron in the Netflix series. Who also told Megatron he has failed). Megatron alerts the Predacons (who are are in that Megatron's future) that the key to changing the past is in the Golden Disc.
The game plan was basically to use it to navigate to prehistoric Earth. Destroy offline Optimus Prime in the Ark. Change the future for the Decepticons/Predacons.
So far the Netflix storyline is playing out exactly like that.
It's up to the part where the Transformers crashed on prehistoric Earth.
The Predacons/Maximals are already there. (Which may be a change from the original Beast Wars where I believe the Ark was already on Earth when the Predacons/Maximals arrived).
In Kingdom, we should expect a scene where Megatron puts a message in the Golden Disc, explaining that it is the key to changing the future, in which the Decepticons have failed. (Just as it happened in Beast Wars, and just as Timeless-Galvatron explained to Megatron).
In summary, the series appears to be a great re-telling of the original timeline of G1 and Beast Wars.
I still enjoy the old animated transformers tv shows but this one isn't that bad there's plenty of new stuff
I liked the show overall, however When the actor who plays Optimus does
his shouty voice it just doesnt sound right to me, he does a passable
Cullen when he speaks but loses it when he shouts. I also have the same
issue as last time and that it everything is slightly too slow, and I
mean the animation and speech rather than the pacing. They STILL haven't
fixed soundwaves voices which is a shame ( i have done a few redubs
where I correct Shockwave and Soundwaves voice to sound like G1) which
woukd be cool if you could check them out.

Loving it now it seems like the predacons and maxamuls will revive their older selves and each use a golden disk to try and win the war but I think it will be a long fight and the all spark will keep moving from world to world and evil prime was cool can’t wait for kingdom to start and I hope it’s 12’epsiodes

Not sure why they are only doing this as series of 5 shows, may as well make it a freaking movie. Honestly what happened to a transformers season or pretty much most cartoon animated series being 12, 20, 36 episodes long when 20 to 30 min long each. These five episodes could had easily just been a 2 hr 20 min movie when u take out all the title opening part, credits, etc out of each episode. Heck really is just a 2 hour movie.. otherwise good show. Def give em credit for trying to tie in so many different story lines from so many different shows, movies, cartoons and comics.
