I was extremely lucky when you visited Sierra Leone and performed at Solomom Caulker Hall, Fourah Bay College. It was great hearing "Sitting in Limbo", "The Harder they Come", "Under the Sun Moon and Stars" etc.. The lyrics " my parents worked from sun up till sundown" touched me, as my great grand parents relocated to Freetown from the Caribbean after the abolition of the Slave Trade. Nigeria may have received orders from the W.... as your songs were considered too inspiring and radical.
Mind you, Nigeria has experienced brutal, corrupt and unhinged dictators- as head of state in the last 40 years.

I am gonna take a lot of heat for this now before I say anything about/ against Bob Marley I just want to say yes Marley made his mark in the music business and deserves to be called a legend of reggae music, nuff respect 🙏 🙌 there Irie and blessings unto his good name. Now this man here James Jimmy Cliff tops Marley in all levels of his music career, although three years younger than M, he has sur past him,M only stayed in one circle of reggae music ok he did well/ excellent there, but Cliff went all out taken chances as he went on and became a big up success, when I brought my first reggae music it was Jimmy Cliff and after that was the legendary reggae singer Lee Perry that's how I got caught up with Reggae music it was through those two legend reggae singers. That was an aside down to one person, a music promoter!
And at the first hearing of the case in court, the case was thrown out!
As was said by Jimmy Cliff himself, hundreds of thousands of Nigerians met him at the airport and lined the streets from the airport to the hotel where he lodged!
These should be the Nigerians that ought to be noted , and not the one individual!
Nigerians and alongside Ghanaians made Jimmy Cliff the best selling artiste of ANY genre of music in the world in English speaking West Africa!

Blogger you started on the wrong notes about Jimmy Cliff that he was born in St, Catherine, from the time I learned about Jimmy Cliff. I always learned that he was born in St,James parish in the district of summerton, and I read some comments about. That Jimmy Cliff is greater than Bob Marley he never up to his level in singing even at all,I knew both of them and. Also Bob Marley started to sing before Jimmy Cliff in 1961, at a very young age. You have a lot of people who is born and grew up in Jamaica,is using Jamaica as a very popular country to make money. Then you have some of the younger generation in Jamaica, is also subscribing to nonsense. How the hell you are going to endorsed something, when you wasn't even born in the 1950s or 1960s. To know the intimacies of the history of Jamaica music fraternity, because Alton Ellis is singing from in the 1950s and was named the king 👑 of rock steady also Desmond Decker was named the King 👑 of ska and Bob Marley come named the king 👑 of reggae music fraternity. All who is talking Bob Marley is into a certain class and, you can only use certain singers into his category. I am going to named a few of them,John Holt,Ken Parker,Pat Kelly, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs,Slim smith,Delroy Wilson, Horace Andy,I forgot Boris Gardener,Alton Ellis King 👑 of rock steady.Jimmy Cliff will never great as Bob Marley without no biased, only because they did have Bob Marley as a rude boy. I can say a lot more things some people does not know, but I rather not say. Let it remain there as they have a saying, leave what does not trouble you. Any singers didn't go through Vere John opportunities show, when he was recruiting singers back in the 1950s also 1960s. They are young singers because he died in 1966 , the same year Haile Sislassie came to Jamaica. So anybody who don't know about those history,it is a big waste of time arguing with them.
