I was not sure why my clog3 test footage from my R5, did not work in Resolve earlier today. Scratched my head and tried for hours. Your video helped a lot, so thanks a lot mate😃. I’m on the free version, I’m gonna pay for the Studio version later today
Great video as usual, question my son made me a custom pc for my birthday and it’s a i9 with a 3090 but when windows 11 pro but Davinci won’t open the files. The play fine on my iPad Pro. I purchased the speed editor it will be here tomorrow and I will use the key to upgrade to studio but is there a trick for the canon r6 files that I’m missing
I bet I know the answer. These are clog 10 bit files, correct? The free version of Davinci Resolve does not support 10bit, but the good news is the Studio version; which you will have the key tomorrow will ;). Sounds like an awesome build and an awesome Son. Enjoy!
Great video as usual 👌🏾 ok so I haven’t tried to grade any of my r6 footage on my iPad m1 but if I understand you correctly I won’t be able to with out the $95 dollar upgrade
If you are using the iPad mobile version, yes. I believe. You can always test it out and then let me know for sure. I don't have an iPad, but I would be curious to know.
@@Screamus you probably have the free version. You need studio in order for it to read 10bit files. The $295 price for studio is totally worth it. Lifetime updates and one time payment.
I asked for a CLOG 3 tutorial in your latest video and have just found this, great thanks
Loved the dig on Adobe. Yay Da Vinci Resolve !!!
Setting correct white balance and exposure also key!
I am def saving this video!!! You made it seem so much simpler.
Thank you! Glad it helped.
Excellent tutorial, I will be getting a copy and re-watching this again, Thank you
I will be getting more quick tips on editing in Resolve in the near future too.
Thanks Jared, this came in handy!
Hi
thanks for sharing, do share some LUTs with Davinci resolve while you are vlogging on the outside.
cheers!

Studio version is totally worth it. Check out my latest video on the 18.5 beta updates.
Good explanation!
Just a tip probably you already now. I copy the clip settings in Color page pressing the center wheel on the source clip 👍
That's awesome to know. I did not know that and that is another way of saving me time. Thank you!
Great video. Thanks.

Hi Jared. What about the Output colour space and the Output Gamma. Do they need to be set to REC709? Thanks for the tutorial bro! Awesome!
I do not set it in color profile. I just have it selected in export setting. I’m not sure if that is ideal but it has been working for me.
@@JaredHoyman I'm on Windows (I know). Does the Mac natively "read" H265 footage coming out of the Canon?
@@pcoussayes…perfectly. When I moved from windows I was shocked I could comb through footage without having to open an editor.

@@JaredHoyman will do yeah I don’t own a computer in the strictest sense I’ve always used iPad pros but I will try it and holla back
Hey, i have problems with the Prores of the R6 MKII Resolve is not importing them do you have a solution for that?
Is it pro res Raw? Pro res Raw isn't supported in davinci. I have had to convert it in final cut to a usable codec.
@@JaredHoyman I just found this video. I have mp4 files shot in log, but resolve won't import them.

@@JaredHoyman Jeepers. Ok, I'll keep that in mind in the future, but I'm just a hobbyist for now. I cannot invest into that. Just not yet.
