    Payton Manning is such a genuine person. I do not ever remember him not giving a well thought, honest interesting response to any question. He does not swear, he has a good sense of humor and he has always been a class act on and off the field. The Manning's did a great job raising their children. This is coming from an Eagles fan, so I never had much love for Eli except for when he would make mistakes. But I have to admit Eli is a good guy too!

      He played the same position
      At the same school
      In the same conference as Carson wentz
      And he’ll probably never be as good as wentz and wentz is barely an above avg qb.
      What makes them avg and the thing that could hold lance back is that he can’t process defense quickly + ball placement
      He’s probably a little better passer than kaep but not as good a runner

You can't tell me Trey Lance can't do this at least.

    • @jumpman3232
      @jumpman3232 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Sure it’s possible but, his mechanics have been very inconsistent and his release, often times is slow. Especially after hurting his finger last year. The inconsistency of his mechanics will lead to a lot of turn overs and low completion %. In the Shannahan offense it’s all about getting the ball out fast to the playmakers (Deebo, Kittle Aiyuk) and staying on schedule. But, if he does remain consistent him and the 49ers will be legit contenders in the NFC. That roster is pretty dang good and Shanahan is one of the best coaches in the league.

    Even with all that, Colin can't believe that Trey isn't inaccurate. He is inexperienced with ball placement and game speed. The more he understands the speed of the defense at this level, the more he knows where to put the ball because he knows when and where his WRs will be against NFL defenses. I love that Peyton mentioned his 28 ints in his rookie year, and then going 13-3 the following year because of all the reps he had.

      Yep - they both changed the game....both intellectual guys that watched a lot of film and were prepared week to week for the team they were facing. They both had great memories and recall of defensive coverages and were able to use this to audible out of poor play calls at the line. Both were excellent at getting through their progressions quickly, and both made great decisions with the football. I think the difference for me is that Peyton played most of his career on a team that was loaded offensively with a great line receivers and backs. Brady played most of his career on teams that were built around strong defenses and he had to make the most out of somewhat less skilled offensive players. That Brady was able to put up the numbers that he did year after year - and do enough offensively in both regular season and playoff games for the team to win at such a high rate, this puts him a rung above Peyton for me.

    I truly think Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback in the NFL. I grew up in the Danny White , Dan fouts, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, and Troy aikman, and I'll say it as far as Firm as I can say it Peyton Manning did more with less cast, than any other quarterback in the NFL, yes he had Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne, but he usually had them separately.
    If you look at quarterbacks currently, they're only doing military damage on the football field with multiple weapons. Tom Brady sneaks behind him as a close second. But the intellect of that man in this clip and Collin is correct has made quarterback play so much better.

    Great interview, but I wish Cowherd knew Drew Brees' career. He literally credits Russel Wilson for short QB's getting drafted when Brees, who is 5'9, was drafted 10 years earlier. Russel Wilson himself credits Drew Brees for being the reason short guys have a chance to play QB at the professional level. How does Cowherd not know this?

    Great interview - thoughtful questions that got so much deeper than a typical interview....no lob balls for Peyton to hit out of the park. A few times brought up all time greats both in reference to QB's and athletes in general and no mention of TB12....almost like there was a contractual awareness that Peyton would have pulled the chute on the interview if Brady's name was mentioned. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
