    I use the Tamiya panel line ink too. It's great for seams and highlighting engine details. I often use the grey panel line ink for engine and underbody detailing as well. It ages exhaust systems very nicely.

    Your videos are really well done. So much info I am really tempted to give modeling another go and test out some of these methods.
    Thank you so much for passing on your knowledge. You are clearly talented at this but at the same time you are showing us how to begin.

    A great tip on the panel line accent. Your panel line doesn’t seem to flow as well as it should tho. To help all you need is a touch of white spirit on your brush with the panel line and the paint will flow much nicer into the recesses which will leave less over paint to clean up. The white spirit is harmless to any polish and the clear so won’t damage it. Plus if you let the panel line completely dry, get one of your cotton buds and dampen it with white spirit (which again won’t damage the polish and clear), then wipe the excess away with a soft cloth and lightly buff the white spirit away. Works like a dream and gives just as good a finish

      thanks man! i think mine has gotten bad, maybe too old? i always add in a little amount of mr.hobby thinner to let it become more soluble and it work better but not as great. will try your method

    I personally scribe my lines very deep on the bare plastic first, give them a wash, add primer, paint and clear and don't worry about adding the wash at the end. In this manner, the line does not look like it is painted.......

    • @JHHobby
      @JHHobby  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it is always better and more realistic to do scribing😁 but in this tutorial i try to made it super simple and not complicated, because not everyone know how to scribe the lines and i saw a lot end up thick panel lines and it looks ugly and became unrealistic. I will to make another proper tutorial for that in the future😃

    Unless I missed it, you don't say over what paint? On the Tamiya bottle it says not to apply onto enamel paint. Or does it not matter because of the polish?
    Also, do you wait until the panel line has dried before removing the excess or while it is still wet?

    • @JHHobby

      Hi, once it's clear coated its safe to use already because clearcoat is a very hard solid paint compared to colour paints..and you can actually remove it anytime😁

    But why black you know they not really black when your looking at a real car during the day in sunlight it's almost a brown or light brown depends on color of car like a white car its a ghost light light grey color and on a black car it a grey color and on blue and red it's almost black but still a very dark grey or brown
