I actually messed with these on my PS3 last night. What a coincidence. It's pretty weird how these were left in the PS3 files & not the 360/PC versions.
Considering how everyone talks about the PS3 being an absolute nightmare for many devs to work with back in the days, it's very likely they developed the PC and Xbox 360 version first and the PS3 version for last, as it was common to do so. Hence the reason they forgot to remove the test maps in the latter.
The hanging bodies are gruesome. It would've added to the brutality of the Pacific campaign if they added those, along with the traps. Which would've further cemented the tone the game established. Horror.
Can you post another discord invite? Id love to join, I've been super into digging for cut content and hidden files in games, never thought theres a whole community of people who like it too lol

It’s possible they were testing it out before release or maybe they wanted to put these maps in game but were cut who knows

The last map looks like a recreation of a cod 1,2, or 3 campaign mission. idk which one tho. could have even been big red one.
Why is the firing range the same one that can be found in CoD4 alpha?
Like, it's the exact same thing but with diffrent guns
World at war was built directly on top of cod 4. So a lot of the same assets and stuff we're used etc.
