I listened to the mention of biochar being put into the mix. I had discussed in doing a reed /gravel bed pond filter having a section set aside to dunk in a bag of fresh char to inoculate it every couple of weeks. I was warned that would robably make the water too alkaline and thus should possibly be done only as a ph balancer for water that's too acidic. How much biochar did you use, compared to the pond volume?
