It's important to learn the techniques to know when not use supplementation. For example, if you need it now does not mean it is the best approach next year or in three years. You need to learn how to read the land to know what's needed. I suggest considering a holistic management course from The Savory Institute etc.
Hello Jaime, I have just signed on to manage a cow/calf operation and they have some irrigated crops that they would like to integrate with the intensive rotational grazing system I will put in place. The crop that they have is 3-Way: Triticale, Barley, and Wheat. My question to you is how would you graze this? Should I do Total Grazing, i.e., all the way down, then let it have a long rest period? These are not natural/native grasses so I wanted to write to you to see what you would do. Thanks!
I still struggle to understand something here it seems: when Greg Judy tells us to move the cows in spring, even when they haven't grazed it 'severely', Jamie Elizondo tells us to 'graze it down' - ? Okay, okay...: 13:07
A good teacher makes complex things simple. Great video. Thanks!
This really explains a lot. Thank you! I am learning that supplementation and staying intense will really help.
