@1:12 Are you sure that first sensor is O2 upstream and not the air/fuel ratio sensor? I thought the O2 sensors would be immediately before and after the catalytic converter.
Assuming this is not a pun - the O2 sensor is ALSO called the air/fuel ratio sensor. Yes, you're correct, the O2 sensors are "immediately" before and after the cat conv. The upstream sensor (or only O2 sensor if the engine only has one instead of two) on any exhaust system is usually very close to the exhaust manifold / exhaust pipe connection, and usually on the exhaust manifold, rather than the pipe. That's where this sensor is. Quoting from O'Reilly's nice and simple explanation of why it's known as the "fuel/air ratio sensor": "Your oxygen sensor, sometimes called an O2 sensor or air-fuel ratio sensor, measures the oxygen level in your exhaust gases. It then relays this information to the ECU to adjust the fuel mixture. If there is too much oxygen in the exhaust, the fuel mixture is too lean, but too little oxygen indicates a rich fuel mixture. If your exhaust sensor is working poorly, or not at all, you may notice a decrease in fuel efficiency, poor engine performance, stalling, hesitation, or a rough idle. The incorrect information being supplied to the ECU creates a poor fuel mixture, and your vehicle will perform poorly."
Is it better to replace both of them i replaced the downstream o2 sensor couple of years ago and now i got a code p0170 code i believe its the upper o2 sensor. And i unscrew it and checked it and looks chapped in white and bit of brick red stuff is that a sign to replace?
So my sensor is stuck like it won't come off with anything!! Then the top of it the metal connector broke it just broke off and I don't have a socket to fit the top of it I even try to impact it won't come off PB blasters still won't come off what the hell do you use to get this off with?
Honda should be raise high enough to work around make sure engine cool off otherwise you burn your fingers you will scream like a teenage girl funny ha ha
Nice video dude! Keep posting more!!
Great video! Thanks dude.
Thats the upstream sensor the down stream is by the cat on the exaust pipe
No it's not, the upstream is under the car on these years
Nope I own one of these an there are only 2 sensors an one is under the hood the other is under the car

They are the same thing, just different names.
