hello.... thanks for your comment. This is how i work. I take my paper to the tub and let it soak for 10 min. Put it on a formica board or painted table and wait until the paper has finished rejecting water. Then i start painting the sky, and background I wait a while (3 min.) and paint the water with more wather and colour. Never wait until the paper is dry to continue. With the back of your hand , feel if the paper is moist. You can rectify and paint as long as the paper is moist. Good luck!
Sorry to tell you, that i wetted the paper both sides before starting the video. As you can see, the colour i bring in is floating on the paper. On dry paper it would never have this effect...... :)
Thank you for your comment samurai..... I use a 300 grammes water color paper. Any brand will do.And yes, the paper is soaking wet before i start. Good luck!
I really like the action of the birds flying out of the water. I live on a lake and love to sit and watch the activity on the water. Wish the demo was slowed down a bit but enjoyed it none the less. thank you
@zulboy01 I really don't understand your question because i didn't use any white paint in my painting. I just used a flat dry brush to take away the colour to evoke some rimpling in the water...if that is what you mean?????
Pięknie. Podoba mi się. Akwarela jest najtrudniejsza w malarstwie. Trzeba mieć szybką i delikatną rękę, tak aby podążała równo za twórczym umysłem :) Dziękuję i proszę o następne obrazy.
I'm a begginer in painting- and am in love with your art work, they are so beautiful not just in the eyes but in the heart, it gives out the feeling of peace and tranquility! I love your work! especially the 'early morning' video, so breathtaking yet you make it seem so simple and easy. Please Please Please make more videos, :( i'm in love with your work, i'd be heart broken if you stop :(
@GeroBlek Yes you can, but wax or paraphine will stick on the paper. Masking fluid can be removed very easily, and looks natural. Don't forget that you have to paint a shadow on the birds to give them shape, otherwise you have just white spots...:)
I always come back to this one. Can it have the same effect with acrylics obviously watered down a lot one way of saving paint. Just love all your work
Hello Tony, Thank you for your comment. I never stretch my paper because when you wet your paper the alveolars open and swell the . If you tape the paper down , and wet it, the tape will retain it and provoke rivulets, as result that the paint will flow in them. It is difficult to handle. Therefor i let the paper swell, and dry freely. And yes, i have two dvd's for beginners witch you can find on my website. Go to gallery, at the end you'll see video's and scroll down. Good luck!
Hello Chi, No the brown dots in the water are the same color as the leafs of the trees. The dots are added to give dept to the painting. They represent fallen leafs from trees on the fore ground we can't see, because they are behind us (the painters). And no, there was no white added. The birds are just covered with masking fluid, paint over, and the masking removed when the painting was dry. Feel free to show me your painting when finished. You can find my address on my website! Good luck...
Hello and thank you for your message. I use mostly Bockingford 300 gr. and wet it both sides when i do a painting wet on wet. Or Arches 300 gr. witch i wet only on one side. Bockingford is also a perfect paper to use dry but with a lot of water while painting. :) good luck
@stephenfromlangley I wet the paper both sides, and wait for 3 min, before i start painting. In fact, it all depends on the paper. Coton paper absorbs faster, then chemical paper, and keeps the most longer.
this is seriously the most beautiful thing I've ever seen... I'd like to know what kind of paper you have used for your painting, and did you apply the water on the paper before you apply paint? thanks for replying.. once again... it's a great work...

I don't paint on canvas, but on 300 gr. water color paper. I wet the paper first (both sides) before painting the sky. The paper is still wet when i finish the painting. Good luck!
