Many thanks from Germany for your high quality lessonvideos. I learned more out of your videos, than the last 5 years with my teacher. He was a nice man and player, don’t get me wrong, but I have so much fun to sit in front of my Computer and learn from you. I just want to say -thank you-.
Great Nigel! The best ever overtone explanation! My old teacher taught returning to low B flat before playing the next Overtone! What do you think of his method of returning to low Bflat! You way is a little easier! Your sax school lessons are well taught and engaging! Cheers from Australia!
Thanks Paul. And sure, that’s another technique to try - it is a little harder though as you say. If you’re new to overtones, tone matching is a more easy way to get started.
Hello, just started back with the sax, and I watched this video. I have signed up for your Locker. Is the purpose of this exercise to help use your embouchure to form or hold the proper note you are playing? Confused....I get these overtones w/o wanting them when I move from lower octave to the higher octave and it is very frustrating.....why would I practice doing this??
