I'm very pleased to hear that you've seen her live performance. You are very lucky soul!! I wish I was able to see her perform live but I was too young when she was singing live concerts. I recently read that Joni also performed Barbra Streisand's song The Way We Were live for Barbra's AFI achievement award ceremony. Oh, how long to see Joni sings that song live!!! I think Joni and Barbra should do a duet together!!
What a beautiful, crisp, clean singing voice she had. Even here, her singing and speaking voice is amazing. She is 83 now. I wonder where she is and if she is ok. I am working on buying a collection of her music. I would love to find her on vinyl. Thank you for posting this.
+Mary Carroll She is alive and well and lives in a beautiful home and I, being her Fan Club President, visit her and you are welcome to write her at Joni James, P.O. Box 7207, Westchester IL 60154 and I will make sure she gets your letter. Include your address and phone number. She looks the same, she sounds the same, she is the same person; I will send you the Joni James Fan Club magazine I do and you can see for yourself. Wayne Brasler
Oh thank you so much for posting! What a wonderful surprise! I shall send a letter immediately! I would love to share your magazine with my friend! He will be very happy!
+Wayne Brasler I forgot to ask! Is it possible to become a member of her Fan Club? And how much is the Fan Club Magazine? I would like to subscribe my friend as a surprise! He is 76 and I just know he will be thrilled!
Listening to the beautiful voice of Joni James brought back memories of dating , clubbing and dancing. 💃The great 1950s, if only we could go back to the civility of that time, it would be wonderful but it's only a memory 🌹 🎶 If I give my heart to U 🎶 🎶🎶📻🎶
I have been ardent fan of her's since 1952. Have seen her in person many times. The last time at Town Hall in NYC Nov 4th, 2006. Love every month of her concert.
Anyone is welcome to write to Joni c/o the address below; I will send everyone a copy of the latest issue of her magazine (and probably the one before that one). Anyone can join the Joni James Fan Club by writing at the same address. There is no charge.
+Wayne Brasler Have you seen that wonderful 1956 Grand Ol' Opry show that featured Joni as their special guest? Unbelievable. It was great to see her with Roy Acuff, Johnny & Jack, Little Jimmy Dickens, Minnie Pearl, and all the rest of the Opry gang. She sings "The Maverick Queen" to a bunch of children! Sublime!!!
Dear Wayne, Many thanks for this information. I will write to the mentioned- address. The only thing is that I live in United Kingdom and I would like to know how to go about ordering quarterly newsletter. My sincere thanks to you for all your works and writings about Joni.
Awesome singer! A once in a lifetime phenomenon!
