I love, love Jason Isbell. A neighbor, I’ve followed him since the Drive By Truckers. He is a dynamic human, and the greatest songwriter of my lifetime.
I love that he was so precise in his pronunciation of "compass" and that he didn't say "cum pis", he said com-pass. Words have meanings and correct pronunciations.
❤ Jason Isbell he is a phenomenal Songwriter/Artist/Guitar God, his songs have substance 4 our lives, Like 2Pac,Van Morrison,Chris Stapleton, Lynyrd Skynrd Merle,Willie, & Waylon, George Jones and so on, , , ,
Brandi Carlile had the same problem with her voice acting up when she was stressed. Her autobiography goes into it. Thank you for the candid interview.😊
TWO TAKEAWAYS: 1). Now that he's divorced, Jason is getting laid like a rock star (46:50). 2). Chastising someone to use the plural when speaking about an individual (12:39) rightly makes you appear pompous. Don't do that.
As to the getting laid part, he had that down when he was a pudgy drunk out on the road. Now that he's lean and well known, it's gotta be like falling off a log. Especially because he's aware of his surroundings enough to lean in on things like pronouns. Now, this might get into a conversation about who he is as a person, for whatever it matters, but I suspect that the hurdle of authenticity is harder to overcome for people acting out of alignment with what's between his ears, but I suspect that some part of a person who has a modicum of piss and vinegar in them might not have any compunction about making a moment awkward by correcting another person on their word usage. I suspect he appreciates the power dynamic that exists in the moment, being the revered featured artist.

Thanks for uploading this!
I love Jason.....great interview
I am a very big fan of Jason and his band. I was very fortunate to get a Setlist at one of his shows, one of my prized possessions!
"Is that a Palm Pilot?" His instant wit and humor is up there with Letterman. Pure genius.
A great interview. Thank you.
The interviewer needs some practice ; Jason made the interview great
Great interview!

Is the acoustic set he mentioned also available?

as much as I love Jason, he’s always been an arrogant, asshole, politically and socially
don’t meet your heroes is the take away i suppose 😂
Piss off.
Get bent. Anna prefers they/them and all he did was let the guy know that. A man who wouldn’t do that for their bandmate is a POS.
The other thing you might look at is that you're letting your bassist know you have their back out in public, which tends to inspire loyalty in them.

The interviewer sucks! Oh my goodness
