Is it just me or has Jon's falsetto become incredibly well contoled recently? Such a pure sound in the recent live stuff (not that it was bad before... just better live consistency)
Mark Williams yeah have really noticed this almost sounds better than album!
He also doesn't go BEET RED BEFORE HIS FAMILY PHOTO TONIGHT when doing it :D
It's not just you. He's always great, but he is in amazing voice here. They all sound fantastic.

Ster Chess No, there's no electronic wobble attempting to correct a note outside of the scale.....his voice is allowed to swoop without it correcting anything on the way up or down....there are no giveaways that this is autotuned. Can you pinpoint a moment where you hear autotune being used?

The reason this band works is because everyone's instruments are as important as each others. It's a symphony.

When arch-enemy came out I was worried because I thought surely I can't love this band on the same level forever, but I was wrong and it's my new favourite. This is also the best live performance I've seen from EE on TH-cam (and I've seen a lot) I'm so happy and excited for August!

Woah, the falsetto in "Kemosabe" sounds more powerful than on album. Neat, that! Maybe my brain is playing a trick on me by seeing how much the mic is ducked.
I like the distorted effect of the green screen, goes well with the eerie song cover for arch enemy.

Okay so let me try and make this into a coherent question. Jon the lyrics you write always tend to be around quite deep either personally, emotionally, politically or metaphysically. Topics being pretty heavy ect, however even though the music is damn powerful and fits incredibly well over the lyrics, I would say almost misleading as a lot of EE tracks are quite upbeat and things you can groove to. So the question is just why the mismatch, is it a conscious decision ?

They’re the art-pop kings of catchy hooks. If you’re making music within the sphere of pop (so often saturated with lyrics as inspiring as an overheard convo at spoons) exploring more brooding, philosophically-rich, meta, politically on point mad creative shit whilst making dance-y tracks is so refreshing and Jonathon Higgs does it so well, plus people enjoy the irony of cheerful melancholia, like The Smiths.

This album is coming out two days before my birthday and honestly, this is the best present I could ask for, thank you guys so much. The lyrical quality of Arch Enemy song is so smooth. I think I've listened it to more times than I count this month.
