Nike shoes are *way too expensive* given their middling to poor quality. The way Nikes are made, they should cost 40% less. Add in the bad vibes from their sweat shop abuse, and Nikes should cost 60% less. Never again, Nike.
exactly, they're made of majority plastic and cheap materials and they don't last long. i'd rather just spend more money on quality shoes, leather shoes, then nikes.
For a sports shoe you need consistency and Nike doesn't have that. You buy a shoe and you like, then you go back for replacements and either the shoe isn't made anymore or you buy the same shoe and the quality is completely trashed.
also have the most inconsistent shoe sizing same model, same size, different fit... like what??? my main sport is running and aside from alphafly and vaporfly, the other lineup are poor in quality... most notable is the zoomx foam getting busted from what users criticize bought one and never purchasing from this brand again... overhyped, overpriced, trash tier quality there are better options out there... don't get fooled by their aggressive marketing
Nike is the fashion brand. There is no need to produce for many years one model. Each year Nike gives a new generation which has much higher perfomance. I am ultramarathon runner and I have been wore Pegasus for last 7 years and I fully satysfy with evolution. Yes, Pegasus 35, 36 were awful, the 37 had bad durability but 33, 34, 38, 40 were amaizing. Hope new Pegasus 41 will be have such cool perfomance as it looks. In my opinion, the biggest drawback of the current Nike Running is the lack of T-shirts in the right colours to match the shoes. Because wearing a black T-shirt all the time is so boring
Same thing we are seeing in many companies like Boeing. Replacing CEOS that had backgrounds in the developing the product they sell, with just business/managment/sales focused people that only want to make money and don't give a shit about the product.
It's not just the new CEO. Quallity was already going down the drain. But the new one really fucked them by going direct to consumer and cutting out the middleman without actually doing all the work that comes with building their own sales channels. It really gave exsisting retailers a reason to diversify and have a couple of other brands on their shelves in order to not get fucked if nike decides to pull their contract. That change really showcases how shit those shoes are in the mid price range.
100% this. Boeing used to be quality when it was run by aviation experts and pilots, then it sold out . Nike used to be run by a runner / shoe designer and now its run by a tech bro. these brands used to mean a certain level of quality, but now its all markup and lies.
Shoes are uglier, quality trash, colors are ridiculous, celebrities power dying, Jordan retro are played out, reseller market is huge, tech underwhelming, and they never have any dam shoes in the store.
I've pretty much abandoned Nikes for running shoes. They wear down so incredibly fast. It's a fashion brand pretending to be a sports shoe. They're just badly made fast fashion.
you obviously are too broke to try the vaporflys which has a clear physical advantage and was banned in some competition. you dont know what youre talking about, cringe

what? Those 90s shoes had slimmer, sloped toes, less space 😂 The stuff theyre putting out nowadays is raised up & square shaped, to the point where the sizing on their shoes is completely screwed vs years back
Problem is clear as day to me: I paid 80 bucks for walking shoes that I can’t wear comfortably due to poor quality. They hurt my feet. Paid half that for Skechers with zero problem. Who’s minding this store? CEO is stealing money. Founder is beyond arrogant and delusional
I haven’t tried Nike but Sketchers has declined in quality as well. I have a pair of Hoka shoes that are 10 years old and they are the most comfortable sneakers I ever own.
Unless you are buying them for running, nobody really cares about the quality. It's always been about style. There best sellers are sneakers they keep bringing back from the dead. Jordans
@@FloydWhoElseTVthat's another reason of their low performance in market now. Those who worships Jordan enough to buy the brands even its crappy is slowly getting old and one day, will become the minority. Even Li-ning is better than Nike now in term of quality, which is crazy considering they are a new players in sneakers market.
@@FloydWhoElseTV here is the flaw in what you said, nike HEAVILY markets itself as a "SPORTS" shoe, good for basketball and running, yet even on casual play they fall apart so easy. So when the majority of Hobbyiest athletes and pro athletes are dissing the fuck out of nike products, the casual consumer listens
@@backpackpepelon3867 I have Jordans that are 20+ year old so the popularity is warranted, it has nothing to do with lessening quality, it's about NIKE creating designs that have way too many parts and breakpoints. Jordan 4s are not different from the supposed high quality 4s made in the 90s or whatever, they are all the same have the durability of Lego because of how they are designed. You can buy SB Dunks today and those are practically indestructible because of how they are made
I recently tried to replace my Nike sb janoskis that I’ve been wearing since 2016. The quality was absolutely awful, and I immediately noticed it was made of fake suede. The quality was so bad that I returned the $95 shoes and bought a pair made in 2018 off eBay. The drop in quality is absolutely massive!
Nike thinks they are the premium brand and producers expensive shoes, while other brands give same quality or better at a low price. I haven't bought Nike in years now.
Yeah, in 2020 they went digital in order to be vallued as a tech company and right now they push volume (discounts be damned). 10 years ago I rarely saw big discounts on nike shoed. Right now half the nike shoes are discounted at major retailers and these retailers seem to be carrying new brands that occupy nike's price point as well. And that should scare nike because it tells you that the stores are aware of how fickle nike is and that their customers either want a better quallity shoe in the 100-150 range or a similar quallity shoe but non brand in the 35-60 range.
That's been the western financial system for the last 40 years. It's also another reason why tax revenues are down. Dividends are not classed as revenue for the company. This means that the companies have a lower tax bill every year. The money that paid to shareholders should have been taxed at the corporate tax rate if it was classed as revenue, though when given to a shareholder the shareholder gets taxed at the capital of gains tax rate, which is usually lower. This is tax reduction has probably counted for trillions of dollars in lost revenue over the past 40 years. It's a scam, but everyone seems to turn a blind eye to it.
When I go to the outlets the discounts are max 10% after a while I didn’t even bother going to look cause I knew I would be paying almost full price after taxes.
The fact that there are Chinese factories pumping out the same exact shoe for 1/3 of the price means that Nike shouldn't be charging us $200 for shoes... the Nike fakes industry is huge.
nike has found a way to piss off every segment of their consumer base lol. sneakerheads hate the snkrs app and the whole draw/limited release system, people who just want normal shoes hate how overpriced they are.
Yeah. Completely agree. I want to buy a pair of shoes not a collectors item. I gave up on them because they want to create these exclusive drops, etc. I have other stuff to do with my life than wait for a shoe to be released

Lower quality, exploit workers, "techify" inventory & sales, keep prices in lockstep with inflation. They left the door open for newcomers to come and take the throne.
Not surprised. I’ve personally been unimpressed with Nike quality for a long time. Unless it’s a specialty shoe (football, track, etc), then it’s just a hard pass.
My wife was working in one of Nike's factory. And they have new factory in my wife's town. She and no one is complaining. Salary is average for the region. Work conditions quite good compared to other options.
Funny thing is...Now the barefoot shoe sector of the shoe industry has risen. Wide toe box, drop zero ration, and low to the ground (little to zero cushioning). This doesn't help that the marketing of those barefoot shoes are based on natural foot pattern and not fancy tech (which is what Nike is about).
Glad to hear I am not alone here. I used to wear some of their models years ago, but then, all of a sudden, my feet could no longer fit into ANY of their shoes (width-wise) no matter what. Been wearing Sketchers and other brands ever since.
A company has been telling roughly half the country they dont want them as customers anymore for the past few years. How is that not brought up on their sales tanking?
@@ratboy4169They don't have enough money for that actually, they could do a stock deal tho or raise exorbitant amounts of debt. Regulators would also be very against it.

That was a decade ago. I can’t believe how much love they’re getting now in retrospect, considering the quality of leather is much worse now.
The quality is not matching the price. Their most popular shoe (Air Force 1) is feeling more and more like plastic than leather. They also don’t focus on producing the shoes people actually want with better quality than offering a bunch of crap nobody wants.
Yeah I buy all sorts of brands, last week bought some reebok just to wear for country walking, cost half the price and are waaaay better, really appreciated them
@@PatrickArcato Reebok's are insanely good, mine got a little damaged after 2 years of intense wear, then I started wearing to festivals and they've been holding on doing that job for over a year so far.
Yeah they need to fit propperly. And Nike hasn't even figure out their sizing across the brand correctly. One type of shoe might fit like a glove whilst another is not wide enough for my foot (both the same size). Consistency is key, nike is only consistent in 1 area (the quallity is consistently going down the drain).
If you aren't doing so already try using Euro sizing when buying shoes; I'm a 12 in a dress shoe and a 14 in Nike, whereas in Euro sizing I'm always a 48 4E, irrespective of brand or style. FWIW I've never had a poor fit from Asics when buying online and using Euro sizing.
Prices are too high for what you get. The quality is just not there. On top of that Nike alienate anyone like me who has slightly wide feet. I can wear literally any other brand comfortably except Nike and Puma. Their toeboxes are way too narrow.
@@I.Am.Terrible.At.Usernames Comfort is extremely subjective but you shouldn't have to wear shoes that are 2 sizes too big for your feet. That is ridiculous to say the least. Nike needs to make their toe boxes more accommodating in general
this 100% I am more or less a genZ kiddo and buy lots of stuff (like tech) online but I just hate ordering shoes and clothes online and then send it back and forth every time when I can just walk in a store and try them on for a minute and buy. The shoe sizing is so inconsistent that I have in my nike running shoes size 43 and in normal ones 42 or less. (also better for the climate)
Nike has plenty of stores and outlet stores everywhere if you want to try on in person. On top of that majority of Nike's competitors (outside of Adidas) are smaller brands with little to no in person stores. Nike should be doing better than their competitors then. Your point doesn't explain the drop in Nike sales.
You're right but if I know the quality is there (e.g. Brooks) or if the value proposition is still there even if the shoe is so-so (e.g. Puma), I'll buy online no problem.
And that’s if you can even find your size in stores.. then to make it worst, it takes a full month for you get your shoes or cleats.. Nike is just trash at this point
They’ve jacked prices up significantly on cheap sneakers. For example, the air max 1 went from $100-$110 and now it’s $140-$150. And in this economy, people are just not seeing the VALUE anymore. When consumer dollars are stretched so thin, getting ripped off from a pair of sneakers becomes a much lower priority. While watching this, you mentioned the Pegasus. Within the past 5 years the price went from $120 to 140. When everything gets more expensive, people have to cut back.
I used to live this brand, I work on my feet all day, everyday. When I go to the store to replace my favorite shoes they are discontinued... but they want to sell me $150 weird things with nonsense color junk & made up "features". I've changed brands
I call them clown shoes. Everytime I see those colorful Nike shoes. I'm like, I want simple, clean, elegant, timeless, shoes.... Adidas, black and white and clean designs. German engineering at its best.
Completely agree. I got one of those newer models with the air cussion and when I stepped on something my shoe went flat. Who thought of such a stupid idea?
Reasons why Nike is failing 1. Over reliance on brand name 2. Much cheaper replica sneaker becoming more accessible 3. Ugly/Mediocre quality footwear 4. Boomer CEO Tech/NFT sales strategy (that always fails) In general they are becoming ridiculously arrogant with the large marketshare they have, they expect that people will pay top dollar for anything that has a swoosh and they have pushed their luck so far that they are now having people walk away from the brand. Doesn’t help that sneakerheads are finally pivoting from the expensive shoes to good looking shoes. Scarcity won’t make up for an ugly product anymore and Nike needs to catch on to that.

100%. I loved Nike Free up to 5.0. Then I don't know what the heck happened but the next version was so narrow, I couldn't wear them. Switched over to Adidas.

Asics has a running shoe line up that wipes the floor with Nike's line up imho. And Asics are more comfortable and durable too. Whats more Asics has been just as innovative in the last 2-3 years as Nike and with the MetaSpeed Sky Paris has absolutely matched Nike in the supershoe race. All while being a significantly smaller company. Fun fact: Nike started out as an importer of Asics (then known as Onitsuka Tiger) shoes to the US. Phil Knight got a lot of the ideas for starting Nike upon visiting Asics in Japan and getting a tour of their company and meeting the founder of Asics Mr. Onitsuka. Its very possible that without Asics there would have been no Nike.
@@BC21beats Yes....they do. Of course individual needs play into it.....but go watch all the show tubers who review running shoes. Aside from their top super shoes Nike's line up is lazy, and unfocused. I'm hardly alone in this opinion. ASICS, New Balance and Saucony all have superior running shoe line ups overall than Nike.
In New Zealand, Nike have shut down our online purchases - about a year ago. Had bought heaps of shoes (as a runner) from Nike up to then, and zero since (in my last 9 shoe purchases since). Abandoned, but was a blessing in disguise with being forced to try other brands. Big time into Asics at the moment.
Literally couldn't care less about branded shoes like Nike, for years I've bought cheap non-name brands from Amazon Etc. they last me years (one pair I've had for over a decade of almost daily use) and not one person has ever questioned why I wear cheap shoes. Then again, I wouldn't want to be friends with someone that is an issue with.
Same issue here, some of them are close but others just hurt which tells you everything you need to know about how consistent their shoe fit is. Never had that issue with adidas (only sport brand that I can actually order online and know thar the shoes will fit).
This. I have a wide right foot. All Nike shoes are painful for me to wear now. Brooks, some Pumas, or NB are fine. I had to stop buying AirMax Nike shoes around 6 years ago. That pinch on the sides is just too painful, but also because they cut costs with less materials.
They are cheap junk. The cheap "store brand" shoes from the major retailers are quallity wise at the same level at this stage. I really ask myself sometimes if they even know what they are at this point. Are they a manufacturer of cheap shoes and some speciallity shoes? Or are they trying to sit in that middleground spot (not cheap but not too expensive either)? Quallity wise they are in the first group but price wise they are in the 2nd. Sorry but their whole strategy has to change.

I bought a pair of non-sport Nike shoes for daily wear a few years ago, and it didn't even last a year. Then I bought a pair of Adidas shoes on-sale for 1/3 the price of my old Nike, and it still going strong after 4-5 years. The ones from Adidas are more comfortable, light-weight, and can be washed in the washing machine. I would still give Nike a chance if I need to buy sport shoes, but I will probably choose Adidas again cause they are cheaper.
I had multiple pairs of white Air Force 1s, all absolutely destroyed not even 2 months into wearing them. I wiped them down every time I wore them and tried to limit my wear of them. I loved the look of white shoes. Unfortunately, I have oddly shaped feet and I place pressure on the outer part of my heels, this has led to my shoes legitimately falling apart given time, on top of this, I got a lot of calluses and pain. I just got my first pair of white brooks and I am never going back.
Nike is way overhyped and “too big for their britches” in my opinion. Being the biggest doesn’t mean squat, it’s way too easy to fall from that high and I’m sorry but the Swoosh just isn’t that stylish anymore. There’s nothing special about the vast majority of their shoes. 👎
They shell out so much for endorsements to athletes nowadays, the vast majority of them undeserving of the massive the amounts. Every tom dik and harry playing a sport now has endorsements and the returns on those is questionable.
I had a pair of Nikes for 6 years before I decided to replace them. I got replacements and they were horrible! They rubbed on my ankles and the skin on my toes. I thought I needed to break them in so I put up with it for 3 months. I couldn’t do it anymore so I went back to adidas. Long story short, I gave my brand new Nikes to the neighbors teen daughter and I’m only wearing adidas now
Yeah, Jack welsh school of management in action. Quallity went to crap so nobody in their right mind buys at full retail but they want to improve volume. The issues they have are core issues. 1. Quallity is down the drain on their cheaper shoes. 2. They don't seem to know what drives their sales. 3. They have several identities but don't seem to know which ones to push. 4. When they want to fix quarterly earnings (not the company) they either try something "inovative" in order to be looked at as a tech company (aka please vallue me as a tech company) and piss off their retailers or they go back to them and push volume through them. God damn they need some balls and admit that the next year or 2 will be rough whilst they improve quallity (and qc) and then come up with a market strategy (and actually stick to it).
I tried buying a shoe from them. It wasn't available in the store and pick-up order on their website was'nt working. Went to a store, and since it was currently discounted, the clerk was unable to order it for me. Tried to order it for myself several times in the span of a few weeks, only to have the website crash on me during every checkout. When the headlines arrived "Nike misses earnings targets..." I was like "no shit!"
It's almost like their quality has been going down while raising prices and basically only relying on retros to make money with no new exciting ideas...
The problem is that they have not been really making any high quality or innovative stuff at appropriate prices. All their new tech gears are way over-priced. Still beating those Jordan and ancient shoes to the ground AND whenever there is a hot drop, it is essentially impossible to cop as limited stock is available online. I got all my heats by lining up at footlocker in the past couple of years and that is literally playing the waiting game, hoping people dont pick up. Consumers are constantly asking for what they want, but they have no interest in fulfilling them
in canada, prices are really high, cheapest shoe ON SALE is 120,99$, if we go like on adidas or puma, theres a ton of choice below 100$... so people buy other brands.
I was happy with my new balances until I realized that the foam completely gave out on me mid step. I had owned the shoes for about 8 years, but I hardly ever wore those shoes. Only brand I’ve ever had do that to me.
New balance, Asics, Adidas/Rebok. I'm in my mid 30's and stopped caring about looks and the brands in my mid 20's . Nike releases shoes that are nostalgic to people who grew up in the 80s and 90s and most of those people who enjoyed and made those shoes popular cant even get a pair anymore and kids who were not even around during those 80s and 90s eras are getting the shoes instead. Thats how you alienate your customers and get them to support competitor brands.
Nike just seems confused about what their business is these days. In a local mall, they opened a NIKE store where about three other stores exist that already sell Nike shoes. They then opened a second store in a trendy shopping district about two miles away. Nike recently closed the store in the mall after less than a year or two. Additionally, they have limited the production of a very good shoe type called the Nike Free. A great and lightweight walking/running shoe. It just seems they can't figure out what to do, or where or how to do it. I think they've gotten too big for their own shoes.
I had the same pair of Nikes I wear almost everyday for 5 years and no rips, tears, and only worn down underneath. That pair has lived through 3 pairs of Adidas and 2 pairs of Pumas.... I've also had Nikes that lasted only 1 year of everyday use.. but that one pair was very high quality.

They always seemed to emphase a narrower more aesthetically pleasing foot profile that didnt match my wide feet no matter the fitting. Wasnt worth it at all.
Hoka and On Cloud are eating their lunch in the running shoes market. I was at a race a few weeks ago and 30-40% of the shoes were from these 2 brands. Nike was more like 10%.
Absolutely. Disruptor brands like ON and Hoka are definitely eating into Nike. So too are resurgent brands like ASICS and New Balance that are making noteworthy come backs. The competition is so fierce now that I think the days of any one brand dominating is over.
@@alexutzu24ianuarie They are also more durable and have better quality control. And saying the Alpha fly 3 is the most advanced running shoe is strictly a matter of opinion. The competition has caught up. A few years ago nothing touched the Alpha fly. That is NOT true anymore.
Hokas are decent but I would rather run in a chinese brand from amazon/temu before I ever used an on cloud. On cloud to their credit markets well to stupids and novices. Said novices get injured lickity split in their horrible unserious clown shoes and give up running.
Just speaking for my situation. I have wide feet and as far as I know, Nike has little or no options for wide. Thus, I don’t even consider Nike when I need new shoes. I stick to Hoka or New Balance for the wide options and comfort
Yeah they have like one or two models available in actual wide sizes. Even Vans has wide sizes now for their classic lineup. I wear some wide Old Skools and they feel great on my feet when regular vans are a bit tight on my toes. Nike doesn’t have an option for a similar kind of shoe like a Blazer in wide.
If I can float something that may help, the way you lace your shoes can make a huge difference in how they feel. More than any brand or shoe type, lacing has completely changed how shoes fit me. This is not an endorsement for Nike, I don’t wear Nike myself. But if you are struggling, looking at lacing pattern might help. It helped me.
Personally I started with $20 Kmart running shoes most of my life. Then some cheap Walmart sneakers when Kmart went under until I got married. After I got married my wife had me buy Nike cuz she wore Nike. I'm kinda cheap...... so I went for the cheapest Nikes I could find which were around $50. Then I noticed the Sketchers shoe store that was right across from Nike in the mall and the rest is history. Been wearing Sketchers ever since. Could always find a good deal there. I always buy sneakers in the flesh because leather quality can vary too much. If im buying from a smaller more exclusive brand like gorel, theyre pretty much always up to scratch
They honestly deserve everything coming to them. The SNKRs app simply doesn’t work, you never get to buy the shoes you want. If they wanted revenue then they shouldn’t have artificially limit their supply
I think many agree that Nike completely failed with the app, that SNKRS app has caused some sneakerheads to HATE Nike. That’s a poor business strategy when your customers are pissed off because the app experience is so bad. I’m not sure what they can do about the bots buying the shoes when they drop but they have to stop these bots from ruining the overall customer experience.

I'm glad to see an analysis of Nike's shift to DTC. Cutting ties and damaging its long standing relationships with wholesale partners to focus on DTC while reducing quality was so braindead it should be studied in business classes. Forced wholesaler to strike up distribution deals with Nike's competitors at a time when new brands were catching a lot of attention.

To be honest with u ..Nike used to make so many good basketball and skateboards style shoes…they stopped making those shoes and, went for running shoes and Kanye west shoes ..I bet they regretted it
@@yihuda7459Nike never had Kanye that was Adidas. And Kanye's shoes were some of Adidas's top seller's

Jordan's are *way too expensive* given their middling to poor quality.
Shoes for boomers. Nobody under 40 cares about Jordans
@@Secretlyanothername plentyb no of gen z still covet them
@@ineverswag Yup, "Jordan Brand" is more than just old Jordans too, Luka Doncic is one of the more well known rising NBA stars and he is with Jordan brand. But even for Jordan retros I see a ton of kids wearing those. Pretty sure Jordan Brand is doing very well for Nike, they'd be much worse off without that.
We all wanted Jordan in the 90s
I haven't opened the sneakers app in ages. Nike needs to read the room... A loaf of bread is $20 and don't ask me how much a bag of Dorito's is.. The cost of living is insane in some cities and Nike is charging $180-240 for Jordan 1 repeats of color blocking models... Buyers fatigue is real and people are focusing on day to day life over Jordans.
I have three pairs of Nikes, and they’re all different sizes. They need to improve size consistency. They could also benefit from making the toe box wider in all models
Nike: Just don't do it.
Whatever happened post pandemic is what Nike needs to go back on. Prior to 2020 the quality was superb and now all my new Nike stuff always has QA issues. Because of that I've looked elsewhere and found like 6 other brands that make me have no need to look back at Nike. Ship's sailed.
Exactly! I feel like a lot of long time Nike buyers like myself stopped purchasing due to Quality was no longer there. Long time buyer notice the quality go down but the price go up
"Nike might be getting the boost it needs" - No, sorry, Boost is Adidas'.
Lol
They're getting a boot, more likely.
the way i yelled "YOU SELL SHOES" when the new CEO went on about modern consumers and digital markets. im not buying a SHOE i cant try on
I bought a pair of non-sport Nike shoes for daily wear a few years ago, and it didn't even last a year.
Nike is greedy for raising the retail price, but people now just don’t buy it, shoes are sitting and later they just sell them by discount
Stopped wearing Nike shoes.
Only wear Saucony & New Balance shoes now. Way more comfortable.
I mean you can’t really blame them for not conforming to your unusual foot shape, but then again congrats on swapping from Nike!
Long story short, I gave my brand new Nikes to the neighbors teen daughter and I’m only wearing adidas now
And Donahue is still CEO, crazy.
He's a bad fit. This is a sports brand, he's a data analytics guy.
Yeah.....I'm surprised too because he is definitely either partly or entirely to blame for some big mistakes.
he is a very avg CEO, having seen it at previous companies
Even a monkey could run these companies better
Nike has a really bad quality problem.
Sales growth by jacking up prices and "discounting"
Amazon needs to be next. There should always be some kind of order not just one company dominating the field calling shots.
The shoes suck, they're about profit not the actual product
That’s a lot of large companies now unfortunately :/
The problem is that they have not been really making any high quality or innovative stuff at appropriate prices. All their new tech gears are way over-priced. Still beating those Jordan and ancient shoes to the ground
AND whenever there is a hot drop, it is essentially impossible to cop as limited stock is available online.
I do not want to buy SHOES online. I want try the fit first.
Also see sweatshops, poor quality and overpriced plastic cheap crap.
the child labor and the abuse in the supply chain really made me to turn to local companies and support local vendors
Can’t go wrong with new balance best shoes in comfort and stylings
are you FOR REAL?!! no way
Comfort yes definitely but for me NB looks like “Dad shoes” I’d rather cop a pair of Nikes or Adidas sneakers

But I still wear my old Nike products from 5-10+ years ago because it's wasteful to throw them out. But I rarely buy any Nike products. Right now I typically wear one of my NB 574's that costed $40 a pair.
I swear that 70% of CEO's are just morons. They're all so out of touch and every single time a company goes through a rough period it's because they've hired an accountant to run the place.
So true.
Fair, how long Nike shoes last varies from shoe to shoe, some don’t even last a year, some for 3+ years.
a bit surprising the piece didnt touch at all on botting for sneaker releases on their DTC snkrs app. I wouldve loved to buy one or two drops but they were impossible to actually get because of bots that flooded the digital queues
Yeah, then they never come back in stock, thus feeding the resale market, which is packed with assholes buying up rare shoes and selling them for double. Dumb.
They always seemed to emphase a narrower more aesthetically pleasing foot profile that didnt match my wide feet no matter the fitting.
Wasnt worth it at all.
Someone told me in the 90s when I was a kid that Nike shoes were made in sweatshops. I literally haven't bought a pair since.
Everything is made in sweatshops.

Hoka and On are more expensive than Nike. And the Alphafly 3 are still the most advanced running shoes in the world
@@alexutzu24ianuarie They are also more durable and have better quality control. And saying the Alpha fly 3 is the most advanced running shoe is strictly a matter of opinion. You can find many running channels that prefer the ASICS Meta Speed Sky, or the Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3 to name just two in which athletes have also won major marathons against runners wearing the Alpha fly 3s
Which is exactly the point. The competition has caught up. A few years ago nothing touched the Alpha fly. That is NOT true anymore.
ON Cloud sucks LMAO
I never cared about how my shoes looked. Just cared that they were cheap and comfortable.
You are my kind of guy but I am a bit of sneakerhead.
Came to watch this after -19.90+%
I think many agree that Nike completely failed with the app, that SNKRS app has caused some sneakerheads to HATE Nike. That’s a poor business strategy when your customers are pissed off because the app experience is so bad. I’m not sure what they can do about the bots buying the shoes when they drop but they have to stop these bots from ruining the overall customer experience.
Easy fix. Make enough shoes for everyone
Facts but Nike is a ignorant tone deaf brand. If Travis Scott has a fire sneaker, don't you think Nike would make more if they mass produce it? It's like they are happy the resale community profits more than they do off the Travis Scott's or Virgil. Shareholders don't get that flip when it goes for $200 on the app but $2k on stockX lol. @@vigilancenyoni3944
@@vigilancenyoni3944but people won’t be as interested in the product if everyone can buy a pair because then they don’t feel special having shoes no one else does
My issue with Nike is that I don't know what size I am in Nike. I wear 4 different sizes depending on the model type.
I'm older but I remember when Nike used to be THE shoe brand. Everyday wear, workout, and running Nike shoes seemed to have disappeared at most stores I shop. I only see fashion and hypebeast Nike's at stores now. Brand like New Balance, Asics, ON, Brooks, and Hoka swooped in and devoured that market share it seems.
Quality of their shoes just really sucks. I have had multiple shoes and they rarely last more then 9 months fully functional while i'm being reasonably careful with it
I used to know this eccentric older man who would only wear shoes made before a certain year. He said after that year quality was never the same and I fully believe it.
What was that year?
Nike has become a fast fashion brand sadly 😢. Have migrated to New Balance and ASICS.
ASICS is killing it these days
Asics and Saucony
I used to be a long-time Nike enthusiast. I dont buy them anymore because of the small toe box, they're over-priced and they really dont make cool shoes anymore. I now wear New Balances, and I really like the 574. IMO, New Balance is a better shoe.
Nb better, you must be kidding
@kenny2553 Im not kidding. I recommend the NB 574 "Rugged." I got the all black leather with the gum bottom 🔥
New Balance shoes are made in the USA! 🇺🇸 Buy American made!
UPDATE: I just bought 2 pairs of shelltoe adidas. Take that, Nike!
Even now they're back on friendly terms, nobody will trust them enough to rely on them and will prefer diversification of offerings. Huge blunder. Great video.
Ever tried Adidas Ultra Boost shoes? Once you try 'em you never go back to wearing anything else.
