I really love how you are guided by the essence of each inspo pic rather than strictly recreating it.
pinterest inspires me to get more creative with the outfits that i make out of the clothes i already own, but also it gives me the strong urge to go thrifting and try to find all these cool new pieces, so definitely relatable haha
I definitely find that just browsing my Pinterest home page gives me shoppy urges. I get inspired when I search for specific color schemes or outfit pieces since that helps me fantasize about what I already have, rather than leading me down the path of "actually, I need a whole new genre in my wardrobe right now" lol

Pinterest does often make me want to find specific pieces that I don’t have, but they’re often hard to find or diy-able so it doesn’t feel like a negative side. Your channel though makes me view my own clothes in a new more creative light

I think I’m very blessed bc I rarely feel uninspired by my own clothes, and I’m proud of that bc I have a lot of hand-me-downs from my mom and aunt and grandma that aren’t trendy. However, with some layering and pinning magic and wearing things unconventionally, I feel like the possibilities are endless. Plus, I can watch videos like this to give me even more ideas! Sometimes I do want to buy something, but spending money stresses me out, so I usually just stick with what I have. Anxiety for the win haha!

That's a very good point about Pinterest, I feel like if I'm just scrolling Pinterest for fun then I end up wanting all the items I see but if I go on there searching for outfits with keywords of specific items that I own then I get inspired to make things out of my wardrobe :) I'm usually doing the former hahah

Hi Liz! I love these videos so much, I get so inspired to put more effort into my outfits and not dress like a lumpy potato all the time.
The 2 looks with the plaid dresses are my absolute favorites. I've been looking for ways to do dresses and skirts in kind of gender neutral-ish ways and both of those outfits gave me 🌟ideas🌟 - and I really need to find a plaid dress or two now.
Also I want to say how much I appreciate the diversity represented in the creators you choose to feature in your videos. It's so typical to always see thin white girls in content like this. As a plus size person myself it is so nice to see different sized bodies styled in such cute ways. Thank you!

My favorite was the watermelon color-inspo outfit. I love patterns and colors. Also the pinterest thing is hard because I (being 23) have constantly been changing my wardrobe/style. I'm beginning to build one that really feels like me but I always think I need more clothes lol.
the printed shirt/tanktop/printed skirt combo was my fave!! (prob because it's the one outfit I can more closely recreate within my wardrobe lol) About the pinterest dilemma I would say both. I started to use it recently specifically to find new ideas on how to style the pieces that I do not use often (opposed to just creating a "just for the vibe" moodboard as I did before), and while in some aspects this helped me in finding new combos (also thanks to your channel 💘) the situation got a bit out of hand and at a certain point my gremlin brain is like "I absolutely need red shoes!!!" (and no, I don't /need/ no more funky shoes for sure). What I like to do to minimize this is translating the inspo with my own clothes on my notes (= why I pinned a certain outfit and how to "recreate" it), so I can see the reasons behind each pin and if something is in my board just because is pretty but I can't recreate anything based on it I just eliminate it. On the other hand if there is a recurring item/category I try to see if it is something that can tie better together some pieces that I already have/ can make me wear them more and only in this case I can consider buying it. I needed to put my math out for this, but for example, based on where I live, my daily routine, and my general comfort I know I need more wereable-in-public t-shirt than I do slipdresses, and I try to make sure my outfit inspiration reflect more of this. I unfortunately do not have the gift of brevity lol, but the question was something I am trying to figure out lately and I have lots of thoughts on it.

I think one to three new pieces per season are good to spice up and improve on a wardrobe. It is still slow fashion when you just invite a few new ones instead of replacing everything. And maybe you could even try to sew or upcycle things to look more similar to the pinterest pieces?

I've been just binge watching this Pinterest recreation playlist and I just want to say how much I love this series, it really inspired me to go play dress up and recombine my outfits!!

My latest thing has been tucking a light (but bold print) scarf into a long skirt so it has a stripe of colour down the side. I held it in place with 2 bobby pins yesterday which worked better than when I belted it.

Wow I love what you came up with! These videos are always a ton of fun to watch and I would love to do the same thing with my wardrobe for inspiration. But I find it hard to find full outfits I like on Pinterest, or outfits that include clothing I already own. Ok I loved the taller boots with the Bermuda shorts! I just thrifted the perfect slightly oversized pair and I’m obsessed with them and they’d be so cute styled like that with a frisky lil top for a night out! Love! thanks for the inspo 💕

I'm at a weird time where I feel simultaneously inspired by my wardrobe but also wanting to buy new pieces! i really struggle with finding things that actually work day-to-day though. Like, I only have 2 pairs of shoes that don't destroy my oddly shaped feet which makes styling hard. Also, short legs n big bust can make styling cute outfits hard. But really appreciate all your different styles and the diversity of creators used to help me see that I can wear whatever I want :)

Ngl you said double vests and I was doubting but you really pulled it off. Also seeing the inspo images you pull always has me wondering about the reach of some of these algorithms since about the first half was stuff I already had saved. That said, I almost never think that I can recreate them or what I like about them and then you do it and I realize that it's actually kind of possible. I've been having a lot of luck thriftfing recently which is unusual for me s/s and it has me feeling like my closet is very full, so having ideas to reference back to is super helpful.

Can't say about the pinterest thing. I created an account in like 2017 and noped my way out of there. For some reason I found it very confusing and overwhelming. But I'd probably be one to want to buy everything...
And what comes to summer wardrobe, mine is very underwhelming. I'll just end up wearing the same frilly cutesy dress over and over again with the occasional miniskirt + crop top. There's not many warm enough weeks to dress summery so I don't really need any new stuff. I do plan on changing an old quite formal sheer-ish longsleeved shirt into a frilly bolero though! I feel the need for a cute cover-up for my arms~

The Pinterest rant was so real! I find myself using Pinterest in both ways, like if I’m pinning outfits that I know I can recreate the vibe of vs looking to see which pieces that I love in the outfits that I don’t have. I think it helps me be more conscious of what I want to buy because I’m viewing as a addition to my style and not to recreate a whole outfit. Idk it’s def different for everyone.

Ahhh I wanna recreate the outfit with the big collared blouse and plaid skirt but I have to go to work now. I have a pirate blouse that I struggle to style in a way that’s not costumy. And I never thought of wearing it like that.

I loved all of the outfits, but my absolute favorites are 3 and 10. That mesh layer is genius for summer! It won't add much heat but the layering adds so much to the outfit itself! And for 10, those colors together are pure magic.
I like that you didn't focus on recreating these outfits with the exact colors, but with the silhouettes. This inspires some outfit creativity in me to go take a look in closet and do the same, but also I feel the same way about wanting to buy new things. It's a constant struggle. I never seem to have what I need for these outfits I want to put together! So I'm trying to just use these outfits I see more as guidelines, and to shop my own closet.

Love the shorts+tall boots look on you! I also was in an uninspired head space with my wardrobe few months back. In hindsight it was mostly due to my job feeling unfulfilling and me being extremely tired, thus I wanted in every way possible live in the potential of what could be and who I could be if things were less sucky. I spent hours and days trying to look for inspiration from Pinterest and Ig but the thing that actually helped was when I stopped looking completely and just sat with myself (and my wardrobe) for a week or two without external input. I also "had" to do a little travel capsule for a weekend trip and I think that also helped! It forced me to concider only what I had, not what I don't or could have.
I always get so much inspiration from your videos!! The outfits with the black skirt... I am OBSESSED and will definitely be trying them out with my own skirts!

loooove all these looks! also as far as pinterest goes, i don't really use pinterest for fashion primarily (i like making object-focused themed boards) but for my board that is dedicated for clothes that i would wear, i tend to only pin outfits that remind me of things i already own, but that's not really something i do on purpose, it just kinda happens!

Actually in my case it’s more like "OMG I NEED THAT" & then I’m looking it up on every Second Hand app I have (depop, Vinted, eBay). Then I’ll give it a like & maybe the seller drops the price & I’m fine with that price then I’ll buy it. But just saving or liking the piece gives me the feeling like I already bought it. But you didn’t. 😃😃🥰

Yea pinterest is dangerous for my wallet in some ways but also it's a great tool to use when you do want to buy something. If I want to buy lets say a green hoodie I can search green hoodie outfits and see how many fits I can make instead of buying a piece on impulse and not knowing how to style it
my city is in horrible transition weather right now so getting dressed is kind of a nightmare. i keep getting urges to buy more stuff but i've been trying new things with my hair to make my outfits feel less boring
