Hoisting With A Spruce Gin Pole

We needed to raise a winter work shelter, but we didn't have access to a crane, so we rigged up a gin pole.
A gin pole is a tall pole (traditionally spruce), with a block & tackle lashed to the top, and guy lines so that it can be set upright. It's then used to lift heavy things straight up, which it's able to do because wood is incredibly strong along its length.
