Exactly. He's the actual GOAT of the SF4/SF5 era with the actual accomplishments to show. Punk would be just another mere name if Infiltration was still allowed to play.
I'd suggest before anyone starts whining about Freedom of Speech they should learn what it actually entails. FoS protects you from government retaliation, and the government only. Everyone else can boot you for your words if they see fit. Also, you're free to say whatever , however you aren't free from potential punishment should you choose to say the wrong thing in the wrong place. The last part people need to stick to their smooth brains especially
But it’s a slippery slope when your speech is categorically explaining with facts your point of view and how you have been treated unfairly. People should have the freedom to express their cause and position without the threat of being silenced in some shape or form.
@@jayro792that's not what slippery slope means but anyways regardless of what "facts" someone brings up and how they're being treated unfairly they're allowed to stick to their stance however they see fit. Infiltration could release a deus ex machina of a document that would paint him as a god like angel on earth and capcom could still say no and there's nothing he can do about it.
But wouldn't that be an abuse of power in itself to over regulate speech in a way that controls and restricts certain freedoms of expression that is reasonably understandable? Especially if these platforms were colluding to prevent people from talking about someone or something (Remember COVID). There is a reason Elon bought twitter and why we were actually able to have debates on X that showed who the crazy people were and who the sane were without any censorship.
Thats the constitutional definition of FoS. FoS in cultural context exist in many forms, one of which entails not being censored due to disagreement. Just because someone gets triggered over a word doesnt give them the right to silence you. "Infiltration" doesnt break the Twitch ToS therefore people have the right to say that word on Twitch Chat, regardless of what the snowflake moderating CapcomUSA's Twitch channel feel.
what do you mean? its censorship, black on white. should we accept that like a dog? so we dont have a right to voice our opinion because we are animals? is that how you see yourself aswell?
I mean "infiltration" is itself a word, though likely uncommon in a chatroom. It'd be like if they banned the word "chair" because Nephew's chair at home broke through the window and strangled a squirrel.
In my opinion, the locals are getting smaller because of numerous reasons. People are getting older, covid hit, and we were forced to make friends and operate online, and shit is getting expensive. Every week it seem like a party and that what would attract me if i could come. now once you made your friends and connections, people will stay home more because they know the people and thats it. So they dont come and save a trip. Lastly, im tired of people using woke and politics as an excuse for being cut of by people. People have the right to protect themselves and be friends with who they want. Move on and find a new group to hang out with.
Now the infiltration stuff is up in the air with me. Capcom need a proper judicial board if the evidence is not adding up. I know nothing about the case so keep it at that.

The conversation people dont want to have about locals is the game themselves. Honestly locals is a learning experience, its where you play to get better and ask questions and learn from other players. You cant learn guessing right. As Idom said "you cant lab throw loops". If im gonna travel over an hour to play offline its not worth it unless its to catch up with friends and if your new you dont have that reason. Good netcode is a factor as well. Last 6 months of SFV our locals was getting better 8-11 entrants. SF6 launch we were getting 20-30, then within 4 months we were back to 8-10. Now its lucky to get atleast 8. The people that dropped sicks all note the same reasons
@@jesusgarciacruz9059 Yeah it kind of does, its what people keep skirting around with the discussion. TO's and people who run locals can only do so much, if people dont want to go out to play the game because they dont find it fun there isn't anything they can really do about it. I saw someone say this on twitter and they were right, with SF6 after a match if you win/lose and ask the person you played what could have been done to change the result majority of the time the answer is guess right. That isn't the player being mean it just boils down to that for a lot of SF6. Then its like why bother going to the local, its not like your going to have a good discussion of options with the people at locals when it boils down to guessing when you can just stay home and play online and probably going to get the same amount of practice.
@@exiaR2x78 This is incredibly wrong. Like you're letting your hate for the "randomness" of the game effect your basic comprehension skills. There is a world of knowledge for a new player to learn beyond guess right. "Finding the game fun" is a fake issue you're making up in your head dawg this is literally the biggest game in the franchise people have it fun. Also they could just go for another game but they aren't getting entrants either.
@@justaliljello5198 My comment was more towards the mid level to stronger player not new players. This is actually circular when you think about it. The stronger players dont see the point in going due to that, or other factors which means new players dont have many people to learn from. The finding the game fun is what I cite because the people who turned up for locals for the first 6 months of SF6 what I talk to all said something similar as to why they no longer play. The game isn't really doing all that great outside of Japan with tournament viewership ect. Other games not getting entrants is another problem, and its a similar thing with what im saying about SF6. Im mostly looking at this from a perspective of locals since im very involved in my local scene. From the discussion ive seen on twitter it sounds like a similar issue all over with dropped entrants, my perspective is coming from feedback from people in my local scene.

Freedom of speech is the right to express ideas and opinions without government interference, punishment, or retaliation....but I get whats being said here. His name shouldn't be banned that's not cool.
It's pretty simple. Capcom is a huge company and wants to avoid any potential damage to their image. Censoring "Infiltration" in the chat is a way to prevent people from talking about a huge, huge controversy that could steer the attention from the event they are streaming. It may sound unfair, but there are sponsors and other shit that they need to care about. It's sad to say, but imagine that during the final of Capcom cup the chat explode talking about Infiltration, then next thing is that some major sponsor decides to step down cause they don't want their name associated to a potential sex offender. We live in a moment where everyone is ready to cancel everyone who breaths or types in a potentially wrong way. I don't like it, but I understand Capcom in doing it. Hope the Infiltration case gets sorted out soon and he can come back to play with us. We miss you champ. (If you're innocent!)
That's "image" excuse is bullshit at this point. They never gave an actual reason and not talking about it has done more damage and the longer they don't the more scummy it makes them look especially when things get out and they eventually will. Especially, when it comes out more and more that the man is innocent than guilty. Censoring definitely isn't going to help since a lot of people are more against that these days (though a lot of it is just so they can say racist shit to black people on the internet), so they're not reading the room. Regarding the "not wanting to be associate with a potential sex offender' bullshit, POTENTIAL and ACTUAL are two different things and hasn't Capcom still allowed actual sex offenders even to this day?

Freedom of speech is more than just whats writen in the constitution. That's just the definition of it by law. In cultural context its the freedom of expressing opinions and challenging wrong information with facts without being silenced or censored. If you try to silence and censor someone on a platform that you do not own, that by definition is removing their freedom of speech, because you dont own Twitch, Twitter, or whatever other platform you are trying to silence your opposition on.
There has never been a cultural freedom of speech as you describe it. We have always socially shunned people for expressing nonsense (and expressing good too)! No one is entitled to our ears and attention. Hijacking the language of law and rights to pretend ordinary social behavior is some bigger issue than it is, foh lol. It is obvious that Capcom doesn’t want people bringing that topic up in the chat because it ruins the experience of their broadcast. Streamers have rules about what is allowed in their chat. Grow up.
@@wolfganghumboldt4830 People who express nonsense gets made fun of, but they are always still allowed to express it because they have the freedom to do it. The right has always allowed the left to spew their nonsense without ever taking away their voice, because guess what, we believe in freedom of speech. The left on the other hand silences anyone who opposes their nonsensical idealogy because they act on feelings and not facts. That's why when Elon bought Twitter, it was a huge win for freedom of speech, because now people are no longer being silenced just for stating facts on the platform.
Freedom of speech is something you have you have with the * US government* Private organizations are free to restrict speech however the fuck they want in their private property, be it virtual or physical. The meaning for Woke has changed drastically over the years and no longer means what it means to blacks so lets not pretend to act like you don't know what he meant. i'm black i understand and i am not offended and agree with him.
Did this boy really just say he wasn't afraid to talk shit in person and then turn around and say "but keep your hands off me." The entire point of "you wouldn't say this in person" is the implied "because you're too afraid you might get your ass beat." And he just comes out and says it like he think it sounds tough.
@@robertbarber1198 The point is that saying any variation of "you wouldn't say that to my face" is stating that the other person is to afraid of physical repercussions to say the thing they said in punching distance. Responding that you would say it to their face is, then, a statement that you are not afraid of anything they might do if you did. Either because you don't believe them to be anything more than talk themselves, or because you're ready to throw down if it comes to that. Responding "I would say it to your face as long as you don't hit me" is just admitting you are afraid of said repercussions. Which, fine. But don't try to sound like a badass while saying it.

Freedom of Speech is a rather funny thing to talk about. The companies are not subject to FOS, as they shouldn't be, but there's still the principle of it that Americans largely expect. The "pro-censorship" crowd, from what I have noticed, especially with the Sophie incident, are more concerned about the words being said and hardly ever the context of said words. At the same time, you cant' just shout FIRE in a theater. You can't swing too much one way or the other, but I do think having rules outlined before joining chats and what not should be the norm instead of us bumping into these rules suddenly.
@@midnightgreen20 No it's not, it's happened multiple times before. Shouting, "fire" in a theater when there is no fire still causes a panic which causes people to get hurt. Everything that we do there we can do at home, except be physically be in the place.
I didn't forget about Art's contribution. He was indeed a goat. FGC is so entitled they think they can get results and numbers but without putting in the work like Arturo did. We saw something similar in the Tekken community. Like at some point Markman was doing everything, literally everything and no one was even trying to fill up his shoes because they were too big to fill (no fat nike jokes here). But you have to do it or the tournament scene dies. Of course Rip / Steve and others stepped up after Markman but it took a bit before people realized they couldn't just rely on Markman forever. SF is at a point too where people got so used to Spooky, Art and Valle doing everything, and now that they're absent people wonder why the numbers aren't doing great.

@@remylebeau34 Fuck FChamp, but that aside, I thought his ban was temporary and for a year. It was permanent because I remember it being temporary.

Damn bruh the Infinite sadness is real Streetfighter glory days!!
I mean "infiltration" is itself a word, though likely uncommon in a chatroom. It'd be like if they banned the word "chair" because Nephew's chair at home broke through the window and strangled a squirrel.
on-line killed the local scene hommie. why is everyone so surprised my dude. them days are long gone....

SF6 kinda sucks tbh

He can talk in person without someone putting hands on him. Don’t read into the powder puffs too much it’s all smoke and mirrors most of the time.
@@robertbarber1198 The point is that saying any variation of "you wouldn't say that to my face" is stating that the other person is to afraid of physical repercussions to say the thing they said in punching distance.
